2014 Mercedes CLS 550 (W218) Battery Replacement
Replacing the primary battery in a 2014 Mercedes Benz CLS 550 (W218) 4-matic.
Tools needed:
-10mm socket to remove terminal connectors.
-13mm socket with extension (need 4" or longer) with impact drill to knock loose the bolt.
-Bid muscles to lift the 60lb batteries out and in.
Battery replacement: Diehard AGM - H8
It took me 10 minutes and I was holding a phone recording the process. Overall, very easy.
Exhaust modifications: Removed the primary cylindrical resonators and the secondary cross-pipe resonator. Factory exhaust and cats still in place. Great rumble and occasional crackle without the drone.

This is a great vid, very straightforward. Can you do a video on swapping the aux battery? Do you need to do anything with the computer like a reset for example?
To replace the AUX battery you basically just need to make sure that you always have the starter/front battery connected before you disconnect the rear AUX battery and then once again connected before you hook the AUX battery back up, otherwise its possible to damage some of the electrical components.
I have the non-4Matic version of this car, same year, but my dash looks entirely different than yours. Weird. My battery died about 3 years in. Called roadside and I swear my main battery is under the back seat. Maybe my memory is shot. Anyway, guess I’ll find out soon enough. I’ve had a couple of “barely starts” in the cold mornings lately. On my last leg I think. Thanks for the video.

Theres 2 batteries. Theres one in the trunk that controls all the cars electronics and then the battery under the hood is the starter battery.
Also, not sure how your dash is different, they have used the same dash since 2012. Maybe you dont have a CLS ?
