spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't finished the series! I find it really difficult to accept the rushed ending that didn't allow any consideration for the rest of the characters... i would have loved to see them have their happy endings (or even melancholic ones) as a proper conclusion, especially as a wind master fanatic :') also, the extras broke me a bit, not gonna lie - these characters embodied a deep affection for each other that i felt the extras completely undid, as they only fixated on the superficial aspects of their unrealistically perfect relationship without a single flaw. Also, I'm just going to say that romanticizing r*ape-like circumstances certainly did not make these extras an enjoyable read - I cannot reshape the way I view these characters after witnessing the author's writing choices. I won't be making any new TGCF covers, aside from tutorials or collaborative covers/re-does from previous videos (if anyone asks for them); and am quite upset that their story had to end the way it did. Hopefully this wasn't too much, I would love to hear your thoughts as well! (I don't hold anything against anyone who enjoys TGCF, these are my opinions - thought I'd clarify that because I don't mean to attack anyone for their interests)

@@charliesnoises I think the only extra I've read is the one where XL and HC are at a festival and playing the riddle game. Sorry to hear that the extras overall worsened your perspective toward the novel. I understand why you wouldn't want to make any new TGCF covers-thank you for the ones that you have made already. Regarding my own thoughts on the work (bearing in mind that I haven't read the extras)-it's definitely one of favorites! I do agree with you that what went down with Wind Master, Black Water, and Shi Wudu felt very unresolved by the end. I have taken a lot of comfort in fanfics that delve into this more. If it makes you feel better, the version of TGCF we all read was basically a first draft. The author has released (is releasing? I'm a bit confused on the timeline) a revised version that maybe might solve some of the issues you've raised (though really, no guarantees). The audio drama since season 2 (I believe) has been following along the revised version and I'm excited to see where it goes. Anyway, your violin skills are fire. Thank you, I enjoyed hearing your thoughts as well! Honestly other than the last volume, I genuinely loved reading this novel - the pacing and Xie Lian's whole character was very well written (AND the rest of the cast as well), and it was something I just hadn't been able to find in any other novels until this one. It sucked to see how it ended but it was a really chaotic and fun and emotionally traumatizing ride :"D Who knows though, might look online for anyone who wrote the ending better and pretend that's how it really ended 🤷‍♀️
