    Did I miss the part where you are actually concerned about the autistic person (who is not necessarily a child) or is "helping" just giving the parents a break? Also, no, you can't just tell by looking at someone whether they are autistic or not. Masking is a very real survival mechanism. Some people, especially girls and women, are very good at it.

    Thank you for this video. Trauma-informed care does encourage v¡ct¡m mentαlity--it's unbiblical (it essentially ignores Jeremiah 17:7 and Romans 8:37 no matter how Christian/Biblical its proponents try to sound).

    Thank you guys for this video. I’m fairly new to the subject of biblical counseling vs Christian psychology. I think I tend toward the integrationist position, but also recognize that integration isn’t very common. So I agree with the philosophy, but not necessarily with how it happens in practice. I’m wanting to learn more, and in pursuing that goal, I wanted to bring up a couple of challenges to your podcast trying to test the worldview. My questions are done in love and a search for truth. So hopefully it could be a productive conversation? 9:45 - This quote says it is rarely ONLY a spiritual issue. It feels like you go on to give a straw man as if he was saying “it is rarely a spiritual issue at all.” I think his point is modest here and you guys turned it into something much more extreme. 12:54 - You say your effort is not to fix people. Is fixing people inherently wrong? I agree that we should glorify God first and foremost, but it seems like you are saying “well, you are suffering… so just have more faith. That’s just your load to carry.” I see no scriptural warrant that we have to live in our suffering and cannot try to improve our lives. 16:26 - Isn’t this to some extent quarreling over words? Later, it seems like you guys are ok with the term mental disability… I personally don’t see a difference between the terms in practice. I get that words matter… but I think to the average person, the distinction is semantics. 17:00 - Isn’t the world more complex than you are suggesting by this? Aren’t there so many more factors that could be going on here? Like the issues with mental health in the modern world have so many causes… can you really suggest that psychology has had no effect? Aren’t there too many factors to judge its effects? 22:06 - You say that it is ok to go see a physician for issues of the body… why shouldn’t it be true that you can see a doctor for your brain too? Every organ can malfunction, your brain included. You go on to say (as far as I can tell) “well we are dying, so these things can only be fixed by prayer.” Isn’t that just prosperity/health and wealth gospel, but for your spiritual health instead of physical health? “If you pray hard enough and have enough faith, you wont have to worry about your mental disability.” If you have time, let me know your thoughts on this. Still searching for answers for sure!

    So, the issue that I'm going to have as a bible believing, preaching and teaching follower of Yeshua... I have to point out the issue here. You're not talking about, or perhaps you don't know, is that there are step studies that CR requires in order to move forward in the Lord and be freed from addiction. Just sitting in on meetings is only a small part of it. This program is about being freed in Yeshua and adhering to scripture. This is the key component to CR.

    Much seasoned wisdom from the late Powlison. How important this message is today then it was back in 2017. Being reminded of a loving shepherd who is there for Christ followers in the midst of their struggles with anxiety. That help's anchor our hope and bring a redemptive perspective to our circumstance.

      EXACTLY they have just mimicked the 12 steps programs and slapped the name of "Jesus" to it. Also, not always, but overall there is less of a call to holiness among such groups, that's why they are so much more popular. It's "works based" self help sobriety with psychology mixed in, and little attention to sanctification or being set apart. It's ALL about JESUS CHRIST, closer we get to him the cleaner our lives become🙌🙏

    _Pray right. Think right. Do right._ Philippians 4:6-7 _always_ helps me to do these things, as Pastor Pasma so rightly said. "Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." (NET) May God bless anyone reading this who has issues with worrying and fretting about things. Worrying is sin. Believe me, I understand this more than you know! I pray that God will show you _His_ better way.

    🎚 ACBC "Truth In Love" will need to move to other media platforms, as RUclips (Google) is a corporatist/statist/technocratic entity company, acting as a powerful DOJ-FBI-DHS-IRS surveillance tool for hard left, anti-God, anti-morality, anti-American goals, and will track, score, and in time will hurt any person visiting or interacting positively with the proclamation of truth, or any true science regardless of category.

    7:20 regarding harshness, doesn’t Titus 1:13 call pastors to “reprove them severely” in some circumstances? 1 Timothy 5:20 calls for public rebuke and 2 Timothy 3:16 says Scripture is useful for “reproof” and “correction.” This could look like harshness, but at times it is the only biblical option for the circumstance.

    There is a danger when you start to conflate lust and attraction as if they are the same thing. Same sex attraction is basically someone who does not experience the natural opposite sex attraction but instead they are drawn to the same sex. It does not therefore mean they are lusting and having an uncontrollable desire. It just means they are not attracted in the normal way to the opposite gender. Lust and sin begins to take place when you instead start to imagine and desire sexual intimacy with them - NOT the attraction itself.

    • @williamtoney2599
      @williamtoney2599 11 месяцев назад

      I think you misunderstood what he meant. Our goal in life should be to glorify God by becoming more and more like Christ (who is God). That’s what the sanctification process is all about….becoming more and more Christ like each day. Satan WAS NOT trying to persuade Eve to be more Christ like……Disobeying God’s one and only command He gave Adam and Eve is not being Christlike or Godlike. Satan was partially right in that when they ate of the fruit, they did become like God in one sense. Up to that point, they hadn’t sinned, but now they, like God knew good and evil. The problem is, they learned it the hard way. God has always known good from evil, but he has never sinned. Adam and Eve learned it experientially by disobeying God and by doing so plunged the whole human race into spiritual and one day, physical death.
