Do you know if the track down to the church is passable in an estate car, or have a book the underwater guide to north Wales and it suggests the track is 4 x 4 only?! Hopefully there is some viz.     I tried Wrasse…once…They taste really ‘mussely’ (not in a good way) also,they live for up to 30 years,so I tend to leave em.Fantastic bass arkid !

    Why on earth would you kill bass of that size? They are utterly useless to eat. An angler would release them. If you want a couple for the table, just take a couple of 3lb fish. The big ones should be left to spawn, after all they’re probably 25 years old.

    Jack, you probably won't believe this but I was filming a movie on that exact beach two nights ago! I work in the TV and film industry and we filmed Daniel Day Lewis and Sean Bean by a campfire, right by the rocky formation you show behind you ! The weather has turned up here now so likely I'll visit next season, but it's a beautiful bay .

    Anglesey is great for shore fishing too. biggest Bass I ever caught was under the Lifeboat House in Tenby that was 9-10lbs absolute monster. Best I've ever had

    Why on earth are you taking the biggest bass from the shoal? 5lb bass is bloody horrible to eat, they’re full of worms and tough. Take a couple of 3lb fish for the table. Big bass need to be left alone to breed as they lay more and bigger eggs. Also you’ve just alerted every netter in Pen Llyn where all the bass are, I recognised all of those marks and the other locals will too. Bloody idiotic video!!!

    Jack you seem like a knowledgeable and decent guy..so dont take this the wrong way...Don't forget you are giving away other people's marks here too, not just your own. Shooting fish at larger sizes means you are depriving them the chance to spawn and produce more bass (potentially ones we might all catch at some point). How many bass do you need to eat ???!! No problem with what your doing, but please consider what your showing in the videos. Take care.

      @@kotechfilms9130 thinking about doing exactly this Am an ex Royal Marine and have done a LOT of long range shooting where technique is crucial, the same all applies to Spearfishing The most important thing in Spearfishing is a good breath hold to allow the fish to get so close you can’t miss though!

    Another inspiring video Jack. My spearfishing has been very hit and miss this year, mainly due to conditions and been 2-3 hours away it’s difficult to time trips. One thing I think I’m doing wrong is not heading far enough away from known spots. Something I need to rectify, but it’s difficult to ‘risk’ the time prospecting a new area when you might only be up there for a day…. Ignoring the jealousy ones, and keep doing the videos 👍🏻 Cheers Steve

      @@yamyamfishing I now live 2 hours drive from the marks and actually it’s made me shoot more fish, getting a trip in is so awkward now that once in the water I stay in a lot longer (4-6 hours usually) and don’t give up even if nothing for several hours

      @@jackmetcalfe8542 fair point, but you’re much more experienced around Anglesea and the llyn so can afford to spend time prospecting knowing you have spots to drop back onto to poke a fish or two. I’ve just brought a kayak to hopefully open up some marks further away, and to also do a bit of rod n line fishing off. Don’t forget the offer of some Zander fishing once we get to autumn. Got a new finder to try out, and hopefully get us on a few fish 🎣

    Really like the technical tips on the this video in the shallows. Too often I will head to the depths. I'm whatching too many of the you tube videos made from Cornish and Australian bred, also well travelled spearos, I think. 😊 I should have learned from my shore fishing on the same/similar beaches you highlighted in the video. While others are casting to the horizon for bass. A litlle rig a few meters out catches bass, as the night and tide draws in. Great video Jack.

      In my opinion it’s completely sustainable - I would keep on as often as you are able. How far out did you have to go before you were into some fish? Bearing in mind it looks like you were at low tide?

      @@jonbirchall4665 most of these shallows stalking clips are within 100m pf the shoreline. Some of my offshore reef videos are a long way out though

      Thanks it looks highly skilled with a lot of patience required by the looks of things. Just one more quick question if I may. How do you aim the gun? Do they have a sighting system on them?
