God Rested

Andrew Peterson’s incredible song about the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter morning. The book at the beginning is “The Art of Rest” by Adam Mabry which I highly recommend. “So they took His body down The man who said He was the resurrection and the life Was lifeless on the ground The sky was red as blood along the blade of night As the sabbath fell they shrouded Him in linen They dresse...

This is Olivia and I practicing for a performance we have together next week. This was orginally written by Andrew Peterson and his daughter, Skye. My love has gone across the sea To find a country far and fair. He sailed into the gilded west And lo, my heart will never rest Until my love returns to me Or I set out to find him there. Come home, come home! I sing to thee My love, come home and r...
Aqua Harp - transcribed by Josh Head

The summer after 10th grade, my family moved to the North Carolina beach from the mountains of Tennessee. I was just getting good at guitar and really missing my friends back home. While sitting among the moving boxes of our new house, I decided to figure out how to play this piece. Since this piece was originally written for electronic instruments, there were no hands to watch; only music to e...

Lovely
Well done! Love this song!
Joshua--thank you for this. I was looking for a different setting of the Doxology for an upcoming worship service--and, I love Fernando Ortega's music and interpretations. I'm a pastor in Farmington, Minnesota. May I have your permission to play this for my congregation in worship? ~Pastor Karen Evenson
Side note, I have Fernando's permission to play his music as we've been "socially" connected for awhile, but I'd like to use this specific video of yours, if you're okay with it.
Love this song SHALOM CHAVERIM. I play it on guitar and violin. I am reading from Hal Leonards teaching books.
I always like to do Gods will. Wish I could be Joe BIDENS spiritual advisor. Nobody in Washington DC is more Green than me. However we must keep everyone employed. Even if it is the pipeline. Electric vehicles are coming soon. Very soon Sooner than you think. It will be a matter of economics. Electric vehicles will be cheaper to buy, maintain and charge up compared to internal combustion engines. I see the future so clearly.
Great job
I have the same name

Hi Joshua. I love this. Would you have the chords, or a tutorial please? it looks complicated, but it’s just brilliant.
Father Paul is so blessed and his voice is that of an angel. Just reminds me of the old days.

All Orthodox hymns do not need instrumental embellishments. In keeping with the Apostolic tradition established by Christ, the Orthodox Church to this day worships with only the human voice, which is the most beautiful and sublime of all the instruments, since it was created by God Himself. The introduction of lesser instruments only distracts from the purity and power of the God-given human voice, which uniquely unites Word and Spirit from a single Source, as an icon of the Trinity. Did you know that one of the complaints of the Protestant Reformers against the Roman Catholic Church was that Rome had begun to introduce man-made instruments into Christian worship? But alas, in later years the Protestants forgot this objection and eventually followed suit.
Victor Weis makes sense... I’m so glad Jesus corrected the psalmists who sinfully wrote Psalms 4, 6, 33, 43, 54, 55, 61, 67, 68, 71, 76, 81, 98, 108, 144, 149, 150. Also when Moses rebuked Miriam in Exodus 15. Scripture is clear that instruments are so unnecessary and despised in God’s eyes!
1 Chronicles 15:16 David also commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brothers as the singers who should play loudly on musical instruments, on harps and lyres and cymbals, to raise sounds of joy.
@@LUbrenhegartyinstruments are NOT despised by God.😅 that’s only our human opinions on it. The heart and nature of God likens instruments such as a harp like David (the man after Gods own heart) used. There’s no way God thinks that instruments that can be used for His glory is despised.
@@Loveknowsyouand which liturgy exactly where these instruments in?
@@monicagingerich3514You’re failing to understand the difference between Psalms and thanksgiving with liturgical worship.
Thank you for singing my music. Your group sounds great--beautiful and prayerful. -Tom Porter, University of Mary, Bismarck, ND
+Tom Porter Thanks! We were so glad to learn this piece in a week back in January - it's absolutely gorgeous, especially the sense of deepening texture as it nears the end. I love your writing! Discovering your arrangement of 10,000 miles was a huge moment for me. That's been a favorite song of mine since watching Fly Away Home as a kid.
Thank you, Joshua! I wrote that arrangement for my friend, Susan McMane and the San Francisco Girls Chorus www.alliancemusic.com/mp3/TenThousandMiles_Porter.mp3
Lovely.
ahhhhh so good!
Woah...I just realized how much I missed your voice and your facial expressions...priceless!!
This was SO amazing!! I loved you final 'Sempre costante t'adorero"!! 5 stars!
Wow beautifull. This is just a rehearsal? I can't imagine how beatifull a full concert must be!
You definitely have a skill for accompaniment, your sound is very tactful and complimentary. Lovely playing!
thanks!!!
Are you both improvising together? This is some lovely music regardless. Definitely feel a sense of wonder and awe from you both.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Nice theatrical and involving delivery with a wicked sense of humour -- loved the hand gesture for the whirlwind. I'll check out other pieces from this capable singer.
Awesome Kristine, what a Beautiful voice.. Here you have an audience enjoying your singing. The Torres Family
Thanks!
thanks, Will.
Hey, thanks! I miss Nelle; we haven't done this since. Next time it happens, I will post the video.
