RoboCop: Rogue City | 27 Minutes of Gameplay
I still have a physical copy of this game somewhere. I might have to look up how to get it running.
Google abadonware, there are patches by the community to make it run on modern machines
Loved this as a kid although I've lost my innoncence and now understand all its failures.
Drop the x when pronouncing Molyneux.
Thank you. I will make sure it doesn't happen again when pronouncing his name.
I always wished I had played it back in the day
Still one of the best. So lucky to play it through 3 times.
Yes it is, sad that there is no remake or sequel
Man they dont make games like this no more
Yes and that is the sad truth
An amazing game!
Yes it truly is
@@gameport404 Which was your go-to avatar/animal? I always picked the monkey with kindness. I always wanted to try the cow or the turtle, but I ended up only getting to the island that starts with the fireballs.
I always chose the tiger, the turtle was in the expansion pack i think. The tiger when it grows up looked really cool at that time
@@gameport404 Did you ever pay the sequel? If so, what were your thoughts on it?
Yes I did play the sequel, it was a message, the game was not polished and they tried shifting more to town building which was okay. With the sequel they lost the charm, B&W had with the 1st.
Many of the mentioned games bring back old memories but there is 1 missing. Warcraft III. So many custom maps were made in that game, and some reached popularity beyond imagination. Take MOBAs for example. DOTA, League of Legends - although i dont play them, millions people around the world do! And warcraft was their ancestor.
Glad to hear these kind words, yes Warcraft was in the initial stages of the script, but I have kept it for another video.
Hey!👋
Hello There! 👋
Nice
Thank you☺️
SBI games aren't an option!
Games are meant to be enjoyed and taken with a light heart...chill about the Sweet Baby Inc controversy
Game looks like ps3
I wouldn't say ps3, but more like end of PS4 era
I would say yes the game is amazing but I am getting horrible crashes which lead to my PC freezing I can run any game and its sad to see that GOS is giving me issues
Is it freezing while quitting the game or mid game? And would you share your rig specs?I may be able to help you out
@@gameport404 Thanks alot, I have got the Rx5700 non xt 8GB, 3200MHZ running at 3000mhz and a 5600x
It seems to be a vram issue, kindly check if you are running the game at maxed settings, if so try lowering the graphical settings and see if it works. If that also doesn't work, disable frame gen. Crashes and freeze have known to occur when fsr3 frame gen is enabled.
@@gameport404 well no it cant be VRAM even if it is, How am I getting over 60 FPS on maxed settings 😭
@@IStillSmileYT where did you get the game? Is it steam?
I honestly despise this take that so many people share for some odd reason. Just because GTA got there first in terms of open world cities doesn't mean everything else that tries to capitalise on this market needs to be ruled out. There are numerous racing sims out there, both realistic and arcadey. But not once does anybody think in their minds "Mario Kart clone" or "Forza/Gran Turismo clone" whenever a small-scale studio attempts to make games that are heavily inspired by them. So why should the GTA series be the only open-world world games that allows for city exploration? Sleeping Dogs is more or less like GTA but in Hong Kong. It differentiates itself with its robust unarmed combat that resembles something from the Batman Arkham series and martial arts movies and its parkour system. But outside of that, there's no crazy gimmick in the game that would make it stand out in the same way as the Just Cause or Elder Scrolls game. Regardless, the game got so much praise because it did well in what they set out to make. It's not as grand as the GTA games in terms of the amount of things you can do or see but it's still a fun game to play nonetheless and I hope more "GTA clones" like it that are actually good and unique can be made because this type of genre cannot be gatekept just for one franchise. I get the sentiments that you expressed later on in the second half of this video and I agree with them but you're judging games that are in their rudimentary pre-alpha stages which isn't fair at all. You can say that you're not a fan of the direction they're going with or that they're being overly ambitious or unrealistic with their goals when they're obviously on a budget or no budget at all (which is something I believe to be true). But to say that they shouldn't even bother with an open-world GTA-like game is ridiculous, especially if they have the resources to make something like it but at a smaller scale. If a game like Raji has an "average at best" gameplay then I don't exactly see how it's worth celebrating. To me, it sounds like you're simply praising it for the art direction and storytelling which isn't enough to make a solid experience that will be remembered for years to come. There are a lot of games I have appreciated for their story and soundtrack but have forgotten about in years because perhaps their gameplay wasn't up to par.
Great writing ... heard of a game called 171? Or the day before? What did they do? They were promising something and they delivered something else and creating a game by using assets which can be downloaded and integrated into the game is not creating something original, if they really were keen on creating a good game they wouldn't be capitalising on gta, but rather would be calling it an open world n just that, and have a proper working concept by now.
@@gameport404 Never heard of 171. Checked it out just now and I see that its reviews are generally positive. If they undelivered on their promise then that's something that should be disputed between the customers, developers and distributers like Steam and others. Most people already suspected that The Day Before was going to be a flop long before it was released but there are always those who will just buy whatever due to clouded judgement. These people never learn and deserve to be scammed. Perhaps a better example of indie or smaller-budget city-based open world games would be things like the upcoming game The Precinct, which was made by the company that developed The Fugitive. Both of which are heavily inspired by OG GTA. The thing is I wouldn't see a problem if a random company came along and decided to make a semi or fully realistic open-world game in the same vein as GTA III-VI if they're able to make it have a distinct personality of its own and doesn't try to imitate every formula from those games to the point where it's just a carbon copy. The Mafia and Godfather series are basically GTA but in the 40s-60s. The Getaway games took place in the modern era back in the early 2000s and all those games were accused of being GTA clones. It's frustrating to hear these things because it makes very little sense why a company like Rockstar should be the only one to make these kinds of games. Especially when set in the modern era. It's been forever since we've had a game like The Getaway and somehow we should only sit around and expect RS to make them when it's likely never going to happen? RS are certainly never gonna make a GTA set in India or any other part of the world beyond a fictionalised US. So I think it's high time for creatives all over the world to make these broader visions come true. But I see where you're coming from. There are a lot of companies or individuals out there who are purposefully trying to reel in some suckers by promising to deliver falsehoods. At the moment I don't see the scam between those two open-world games being made in India. Overly ambitious, sure. It would only become suspicious the moment they ask for financial support from the public but are unable to produce convincing material to sell their concept. They look generic or uninspired right now but that's how ALL games look in their pre-alpha state so it's not something worth commenting on just yet.
You still don't seem to understand..no body has a problem with open world or gta-ish..What they are doing now is using assets already available in the unreal engine and using it for game compiling, every game doesn't have to be open world, whatever genre the game is it depends on the consumer, we as consumers are very gullible because we can't differentiate between what's gameplay and what's pre rendered...that's where the problem lies..selling something on lies
@@gameport404 Fair enough. It's always good to be sceptical about something and to warn others about it. However, neither of the games have presented fake gameplay of any kind. Just pre-rendered cinematic trailers alongside pre-alpha footage. But yes there are those asset flip games which are unfortunately pretty common to find. The developer behind Project Madras made it clear that he was using pre-made assets from the marketplace alongside his original art. It's unknown if they're temporary objects for demonstration purposes but at least he's being upfront about it so that people can and should set their expectations accordingly. It doesn't matter if a group of developers are trying to make a game like GTA (even though Driver 2 was the first of its kind in that respect) or is trying to make something that is realistic for a small team with a small budget to achieve like Raji, the issue comes down to the lack of communication and honesty. If these companies aren't being direct about what their goal is then for sure we need to question them and ensure that others are educated on this matter so that they don't fall into this trap.
At least they are trying what you are doing 😔 you criticizing.
Yes they are trying and I'm critizing because with the time and money they have , they can make something better than copy what is already out there..remember creating something original will stand out not a cheap copy.
Indian Gaming never existed to be dead💀
Well they do exist and raji: an ancient epic is an example of that.
Bhai background music ka naam?
Palace of Roses - Aakash Gandhi from RUclips's audio library
I totally agree with you that instead of making games like GTA, they should come with the original concept, like Raji. But in India, there are lots of gamers who just know GTA, PUBG, and Minecraft, and I guess Mumbai Gully and Project Madras Developers want to attract those people. Imo, it will be a one time play games... I hope they don't disappoint us
So true..
Nice🎉
In the beginning where u mentioned people are saying these games are gta killers, lol. ok. the gta series especially 4 and 5, is a series developed over two and a half decades with memorable storylines and characters and the effort of hundreds of developers redefining the industry. kya maal phookke bhaite hai log.
Exactly...just publicity stunts.
The only info i got out of it is its just gonna be the flat earth project 6😂😂😂😂😂😂 enjoy your woked out Disney movie on another flat map 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well video game maps are always flat😁
@@gameport404 how long ya been gaming???so maybe we'll get spherical maps after players stop brown nosing flat earth maps .....don't go to far ya might fall off 🤣🤣🤣🤣 height of technology new gen consoles revived up gaming PCs be we still stuck on pre Christopher Columbus maps 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂ya ever seen star citizens map layout now they're on to something and have multiple spherical maps I'll tell ya what rockstar knows they know you bozos will just keep paying for the same old shit 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣so much for cutting edge technology 🤣🤣🤣flat earth project 6 how come people just say it is what it is when they stick their finger into a light socket when the could've actually changed the outcome....you settle for what they give ya I dont 👍
It's Florida mate, what do you expect
Dude star citizen has been in alpha stage for a very long time and the amount of money that is being spent on it, that game ain't never coming out of alpha stage , just a means for siphoning of money from potential backers that's all..you play games you like we play games we like, ain't no one got a problem with what you play.
@@rodrick1938 😂😂😂😂at least someone has a good rebuttal 👍
They should also not think about competing with giants, i mean look at the GTA 6 trailer.
Exactly...they can create something original..doesn't need to be large scale production game.
first project is not always the perfect just like cyberpunk did comeback
Cyberpunk 2077 is a different type of game..also cyberpunk 2077 was not CDPR's 1st project, other games have been made before that and they were all hits.
Check out our game if you think indian games are just ripoffs
Why the clickbait dude?
@@gameport404 not clickbait i am seriously telling you its not pn this chanmel its on the company channel
Sure then we would love to see your game.
@@gameport404 how can i connect with you
If you can provide an email address, we would love to get in touch with you guys
Being a gta clone isnt even the problem here, these games just look and feel bad. There is no consistent art style, just asset flipping 🤦♂️. When you look at a screenshot of let's say gta 4, you will instantly recognize it as gta 4. But these games just use assets hence no consistency in visuals. The animations are even horrible.
Very true, might even be assets bought off the UE 5 marketplace...just a thought, can't verify, but character models and placeholders seem a lot like those available in the UE5 market.
only way india is gonna have a good AAA based game is if these companies get funding, most of the devs are working for no/minimal salary and no matter how much passion one has they need to feed their families. I think we should focus on simple indie games that don't focus on graphics cause graphics isn't what makes games good in the 21st century, its good gameplay what makes games good. undertale was literally a pixel game made by one guy and its considered to be one of the best games of all time so this obsession over good graphics that game devs have needs to and they need to understand that initially if they cater to the global market instead of indian they'll probably earn more since most indian gamers are on mobiles and the ones on PC only play free to play games most of the time and they'd rather pirate than spend money on an indie game
💯 agree with what you wrote.
You speak bitter truth. Indian game developers need to focus on the originality rather than creating clones.
Thank you!!
I agree with you bro, we need good games instead of making something out there at home, we need to make something that is our own and I know we can do that, I mean both Raji and Venba did a great job of being Indian culture centric games and I want to see more of those, and I want more people India to explore that route
Yes,raji and venba were both unique in their own way.
I really enjoyed playing Raji, but one think I do not understand is why are Indians so obsessed with GTA? I mean these 2 games definitely don't have a AAA budget nor the experience, instead they could try their hands on with immersive side scrollers or metroidvania. Plenty of awesome games like ori, hollow knight. They should jus try to cater international audience initially and later with thebudget and experience try their luck on Indian gamers
From their point of view, GTA is very successful, no matter what it will sell, what the developers are trying to do is sell a product and what better way to do it than announce that as a game studio, you are creating a game which will rival the likes of GTA with Indian sentiments poured into it, remember FAUG?. From a marketing's POV, it will create a buzz and sell to those people who were looking forward for an Indian GTA, in the long run will fail, but in the short run will make easy money.
@@gameport404 i get it, but i am afraid people will buy this game if this paid, faug was free and a mobile game. PC/console gamers will never buy this stuff. I am really sad they are pouring all that time and money into the drain
The developers need to start from root like 2d games. They need to focus more on art style not graphics.
it doesn't have to be 2d only, it can be any type of game, just originality, immersion and good gameplay mechanics are needed.
Nice content.. shows significant research involved while creating this video.. keep it up..
Thank you very much.. that means a lot.🥹
To be honest this was the only thing I was talking about , nicely explained , they need to have some kind of originality......
They should take risk like cdpr as they risked everything with Witcher 1 and 2 and bam the next Witcher was a masterpiece this should be learned by these studios that making a clone would not do any good to the gaming community of India just spark some nonsense community defending those clones....
Witcher 1 and 2 were masterpieces as well, but what cdpr did was take a novel, an already existing story and make it even better by letting us live in that world as geralt of rivia. Sentimentality is sadly what sells in India.
@@gameport404 thats what's the problem is we don't have to sell in "India" we have to go global just like Raji did in the first place and yeah about Witcher 1 and 2 , they both are good games though but not masterpieces so as to say Witcher 3 really was (and yeah I've played all of the Witcher games including spinoffs , I'm a big fan of the series lol)
Glad to hear that you like witcher 1 and 2.
If they are targeting PC and console market its going to be a tough fight, but they might find some success in mobile markets.
Mobile market yes...pc and consoles, they will be obliterated...heard of a game called 171 from a Brazilian studio?, they did the exact same thing as Mumbai gullies and project madras and are still in alpha phase..
@@gameport404 ya my bet is on "Mayanagari - Mobile Gangster" - GTA game on mobile hope they become successful.
lemme tell ya both the games suck ass, no offence but they do i am tired of pretending they dont its 2023 end, and we are still getting mobile simulator games ported to pc no reason to switch to unreal engine 5 if you cant even utilize 4 properly like seriously i am tired of these devs edit:i really wanna be suprised by the devs tbh mumbai gullies is planning to come by 2024 end, i hope its more polished the madras one...idk man
One thing that these devs need to understand is that creating a game is like creating a movie, you can either create a masterpiece or make a flop. When it comes to Indian devs, they are trying to do what is being done in the mobile gaming industry, create a clone with Indian sentiments and market the hell out of it, even if the game is buggy and not even playable
@@gameport404 exactly! they are literally trying to rip off gtas and usin stereotypes was watching mumbai gullies overview it sucked ass, yea some thiings were okay but most were boring and mediocre ambience was great tho the language seemed forced, hell va suck ass as of now. at the end they will do what faug did make the game as made in india and use that name to sell the mediocre shit, i still remember watching mumbai gullies teaser, it was soo good, but now i feel it was just an animation i really hope these devs stop fooling their community and actually create some masterpiece which looks like a 2025 game
Sad to say but the teaser was not gameplay but rather a pre rendered video..like those animation movies..must have been made in Maya or blender..not sure..but that was not gameplay or even related to gameplay in any way...just a teaser video with pre rendered images
@@gameport404 yea figured
Nice presentation ❤
Thank you🙂
I felt the same about those games bro.Even the alpha footage they released had an unreal engine default character walking around and so much generic reused assets with buggy stuff everywhere..I'm surprised of their guts to release shitty gameplay like that.
It's just not about the gameplay, everything about those games reeks of using the Indian gaming community and that we as gamers would play it no matter what, since it has an Indian flavour to it.
Good information 🎉😢
