Is Barnabas Collins Heel turn during the Leviathan Ark a put-on?
Great show Thanks You 🎉🎉
Josette dupres ai test
Angelique was the reincarnation of Miranda. Then she ended up being immortal before she lost her powers.
Great show Thanks You 😅
The movie actually hurt the series. It was more a Hammer film than Dark Shadows. Good interview.
Excellent points. I really do hope they make this happen.
Thanks again Jule! I had an awesome time
Ok, now do "Satan in High Heels". It's on RUclips.
Great show, enjoy Thanks 🎉
Thanks Jule!
I actually watched this movie a year ago on one of the streaming channels and I really liked it. I thought it was new as well. Didn’t know it was already a few years old. Great conversation! I was cracking up when you told Patrick to watched all 4 Friday The 13th movies. 😄
This was very entertaining. It’s a bummer that Butch and Patrick didn’t care for the movie but it makes for a great discussion when not everyone likes the film. I liked listening to everyone’s opinions.
I think the simplest interpretation of the "they" is Angelique and whatever vampire she bespelled to come bite Barnabas. Barnabas usually had a sense of the people he had bitten, so I'm going to guess he had some connection of whoever it was that bit him. For many years I thought the bat was a magical thing that Angelique had conjured but, given that the show has examples of magic being used to control vampires, it seems possible that Angelique would be able to grab hold of a vampire to do her bidding.
I saw House of Dark Shadows in what was I think 1975. It was running on The Late Late movie that they would show Saturday at 10:30 p.m. if I'm remembering correctly. The scene with David hanging in the closet was in that over-the-air broadcast of the movie. I seem to recall it was a rather dark shot and not on camera for long. I think it was intended to be a jump scare but I thought it was confusing and hard for me to sort out what was happening visually.
I’ve always wondered why the girl was held captive as well. Great call out her looking like a young Pamela. Ohhh Butch thanks for the call out.
'they' was mentioned once by B-Man on the tv show 1967 storyline?
@@concerta56 what episode was that?
@@ResidentofCollinwood I think it was 220 to 250 more or less. if you find it before me please send me the link
I now REALLY want to see Peter Dinklage as a serious slasher villain
Here's my observation. By around 1990, most of the standup comedy world types were aware of drug exhibition comedy. They were aware Robin Williams wasn't talented or making funny bits but they were, all along, just laughing at someone ripped on cocaine. Props to Pryor who, in his later sober years, doubted he was ever that good because much of what people laughed at was the effects of drugs. By 1990 you couldn't just go on a stage and be ripped and blurting and extremely hyperactive making goofy noises and 'gurning' clownish grins for laughs. Other comics and the audience was onto that and demanded SOME kind of 'jokes' some written bit, some setup-punchline work. HOWEVER... the normies weren't onto this. Even better, Jim Carey was still a kid, a physically fit kid who, without cocaine, he was happily zooming over the top body comedy all over the 'do whatever you want' Pet Detective project, surely himself 'high' on a first leading role type of movie, his movie. This will become a problem because 32 Jim Carey has to be JACKED and HOW ARE YAAAA!!! ZOOOooop! Kazzaaa! while the divorce papers are outside, 72 crew members need this right, life isn't fun anymore and at age 36 a man's body can't do triple-axels anymore. but then again it CAN if it gets some Adderol amphetimine from someone's dad who's kid has 'autism' (97% of hollywood parents) and you sure can! and when that starts to go from 'rubber-faced WAZOOO! slip, fall, jump up!' it can go a long way in playing a hyper-focused, eagle-eyed A-type character in Me Myself and Irene which could be called 'Me on and off doses of Adderal' not so much incredible acting skills. (though, those exist too). Then when it al starts going to dark places Adderal (and i know its more and different combos of things) but that can make you surprise audiences with '23' . I suppose the inevitable rehab, the doctors warnings, age and yes hopefully just becoming a more mature older man with some reflection and a clock counting down can bring about a spotty, stuttering, stop-start, binge and purge, the LSD microdosing and then a series of oddball roles and blips and even a little hit retrospective and inconsistent chat show appearances. Which is fine. I'd suggest his career is pretty much the amount of drugs, the kinds of drugs and the lack/abundance and side-effects of drugs pretty much the whole way through.
That is so cool you guys discussed Gilligan’s Island. I hope you guys do more episodes. 👏🏼
No, it's not a put on. For the most part, the Leviathans did a great job of getting Barnabas to do their bidding. It was when Julia's life was in danger and Jeb's impulsive actions that snaps Barnabas back to his normal self. If DS was on the air today and the Leviathan storyline was better executed, Barnabas' heel turn as a human would have been applauded.
I didn't appreciate VirginiaVestoff when i originally saw her but on second watch she was a great foil to both Quentin and Gabriel and i really enjoyed her.
Julianka seems to be in a different place in the afterlife perhaps because she felt she died before her time. Mr Best talks to Amanda Harris about Death and says ,"It's really quite nice!"
I so enjoyed this podcast. You guys review these films so well and Butch has got quite the collection!
I Love all of Chloe's artistic, ceative posts on FB in the many Dark Shadows groups. I appreciate her enthusiasm and her love and devotion to our fandom. Luv to Chloe from David. :)
This film doesnt get enough appreciation. The Humungus has spoken.
Why David Gordon Greens Halloween trilogy makes perfect sense. 1- Michael doesn’t literally transfer any evil. Its a matter of influence and 2018 DOES establish This with Laurie, as the through line begins with Aaron Saying to Dana that “one monster created another” Brackett brings it back in Kills, after the mob gets Tivoli Killed. “Now’ HE’s turning US into monsters” Then Ends cleverly brings it full circle, introducing Corey With the song “The Monsters hop” playing in the background. 2- Timejumps are par for the course in the franchise. 78, jumps from 63 to 78 WITH NO EXPLANATION. H4 does a time jump of 10 years WITH NO EXPLANATION. Why all of a sudden, Ends needs to explain the time jump? I thought it would be obvious: Laurie is in no condition To fight Michael after the end of 2018. Its baffling anybody Wouldn’t see time jump coming after watching 2018’s ending 3- Laurie is not talking about being unable to kill Michael with brute force, She’s talking about what he represents, the fear he causes The more he kills people, his evil actions are SYMBOLIC to a disease And it spread through the town, you can’t kill THAT. Kills was setting up Ends, and its the people who think Michael gets stronger from killing, that think the trilogy don’t make sense. All Michael did was train Corey to take over when he dies. He didn’t pass on any evil literallu, when he choked him WE the audience saw Corey’s life flashing before his eyes, that’s all. Same thing. Happened to Laurie at the end before Allyson saved her. As David Gordon Green (the main writer and director) says: "David Gordon Green since suggested in an interview that this “transference of evil”, as fans call it, isn’t literal. As such, it can be viewed that Michael sees something in Corey that he can relate to..." We literally saw Laurie acting like Michael throughout 2018, yet some of y'all fans were somehow shocked that Corey began to do it. Didn't Kills talk about Laurie LOOKING INTO HIS EYES after she took off his mask in 78? funny how the writers established a bunch of things in the trilogy, y'all say isn't there lol
I love GI i can't believe it only went 3 seasons
Thanks for the shout-out & good video
I love how honest you guys were talking about this film. You guys both reviewed it perfectly. Well done.
Thank you for reading!! Sorry for the slow burn of the festival. you’ll see that go down in the next 2 chapters. You’re spot on w/Christopher. Question is has he *TRULY* forgotten his past or *CHOOSING* to forget. Those questions & more still to be answered.
Great discussion, I learned a lot and went down memory lane a lot too!
LOL!!!! Evie the mad driver!!! LOL! Yes!!
Great video. I agree with you & I can understand why you won't buy these movies.
Great show Thanks You
This was really cool. I loved that figure Butch showed us at the beginning and that book too! I didn’t know about the real guys either. That’s crazy!! I haven’t watched this movie in years. I watched it when I was a kid and I remember being traumatized. 😆
I enjoyed 2018 and kills. Ends wasn't a bad movie, but it was a bad Halloween movie
that makes no sense, if its not a bad movie, its not a bad movie period.
No lies told, sir.
Great show ❤❤❤❤
This was certainly enjoyable. I will admit to not having watched all the movies tho. I’ve only watched the first one, Jason Takes Manhattan and Freddy vs. Jason. 😞
I totally agree about Dr. Guthrie. And the first seance is my all-time favorite. Alan, love the ABC hat!!
Great show !!
Bobby saying “When Profess Stokes is scared , you know you got problems “ so true !
I just loved John Lasell and his character Dr. Guthrie. He added a lot to the Phoenix episodes of Dark Shadows.
I learn a lot from you guys. You both always add great tidbits to the conversation. Really looking forward to the next video!
Great job, gentlemen! Thanks!
Thank you reading!! Christopher’s story will unravel slowly as the series moves closer to Book7 but there will be clues into who he may or may not be throughout. Gotta keep you guessing :) also Coraline’s secret will become more evident too and it will be connected to Vivi Lord in an unexpected way
Nice review. I know you don’t get request often but would you be open to talking about the pitch I was telling you about a couple videos ago?
you mean about coming on and talking about the Halloween Novels?
