Matt, whether you're living in a suburbs or even downtown Detroit!
My holiday season was great, Matt!
One thing I noticed about your channel it's all Southern Michigan nothing MidMichigan nothing Northern Michigan nothing U.P basically you stay in the southern part which is kind of dumb but that's where the most population is you should be doing stuff in mid-Michigan grayling Cadillac Petoskey traverse City but you'd rather stay where the population is probably because you're too cheap to travel
Hey Dale, we do focus mostly on Southeast Michigan because that is where we live, work and know the best. I try to travel as much throughout the state as possible. Usually make it a few places a year. Have you been down to metro Detroit in recent times?
@LIVINGINDETROIT I grew up in Detroit I watched that City go from a nice city to a 💩 pit yeah Coleman Young ripped that City off when he was mayor but he was slick about it so did Dennis Archer when he was mayor kwame kilpatrick know he was a blatant in your face thief in the mayor they got now yeah he brought back to downtown area but the rest of the city looks like a 💩 pit vacant areas vacant houses all resembles a war zone that City will not change unless you get a Republican mayor in there a conservative someone who knows what the hell he's doing I grew up in Detroit in the Plymouth in evergreen area not too far from Blitemoor / AKA brightmoor plus not only that I saw that City burning 67 with the riots I was 8 years old when that happened and there are still buildings in that City they have never torn down because of that riot burnt out dilapidated and still standing making that City look like a 💩 pit
That's a shame. Lake Fenton was at one time, a cosy fun place to vaca or live with cottages and 1-2 bedroom houses. Back in the day, that property was an amazing place to visit or have family time. As of today, 2-4-25, that is listed at 2.5m w/bids...this is, If you don't mind a 2 mile drive down to the end of a 2 track.
We still think is a fun place to vacation!
There are many homes smaller than what was shone, and less expensive. The city of Troy utilizes both the Troy school system and the Birmingham schools, depending on what part of Troy you live in. Both school systems are excellent. There is a library, a community center, a community pool, walking trails, lots of restaurants, parks, athletic leagues for kids and adults, a Senior center and more. I've lived in Troy for 40 years, and it is good place to raise a family, or to find things to do as a single person.
Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate people getting to know places from our views. Have a great day.
Taxes - too high.
Depending on what you are looking for in a city and where you are coming from it could be.
I love my city 🙏
Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah I live in southeast Michigan it's a toilet I would rather be living up near Cadillac mid-Michigan it's a lot quieter up there it's a lot more quaint in the people are a little bit more friendly than the assholes down to the southern end of the state
Sorry you have attracted that energy. For some reason not the vibe that I get. Best of luck on the move, let us know if you have a house to sell.
Yeah don't forget Jeff Daniels in escanaba in the moonlight
He is truly all time great at his craft. Did you see the folk song he wrote about the lions this year? If not you should google it.
@@LIVINGINDETROIT hell last year and this year the Lions did real good they almost went to the Superbowl last year unfortunately they lost that game but if they had one they would have gone to the super bowl this year yeah same thing they lost in the playoffs but if they had one they would have been in contention to go to the super bowl I think within the next 2 years the Lions will do it if not next year I would love to see him go to the super bowl because I would go through hell just to get the money to go there and watch him play live and not on TV go Lions
Happy New Year, Matt!
Happy new year! Thanks Dennis!
I love Farmington. In the summer and the fall they have a wonderful farmers market.
Yes they do. The downtown area continues to improve and make efforts to be really nice.
I’m sorry but I can get 6 bedroom house in Dearborn for 400 thousand 😭😭😭This townhouse didn’t have not 1 wow feature & eww I hate stand up showers in master bedroom need nice jacuzzi
If there is one this I have learned in real estate there are some tub people and some people that do not use them.
The houses are expensive here i live in livonia we were going to move to 6 mile area to much!
Livonia has seen a good increase in home values for many years now. Very sought out still.
I moved to the Park 2 years ago from Flint and I'm so in love with this city! You're so right about the small town feel. I can walk to almost any place I need--library, restaurants, even my doctor's office. The thing about this area that I like least is how the shoreline in is off limits to anyone but residents. There is no public access. Each Pointe has a park for residents with passes only and the rest of the shoreline belongs to the mansions that border it. You can drive along Lake Shore drive but you can't walk by the water.
Great feedback for home buyers from out of town. Thanks for the comment Kimberly!
The bubble. No thanks
Not for you. Noted.

👍
Grew up in Rochester but thinking about Grosse Pointe. I love old Detroit.
A few good areas. Let us know if you have any questions!
It's a moose head not a dinosaur head.
The moose is on the side of the building and over the bar, the back game area has the T-Rex head too!
As well too? Just say as well or too, not both.
Thank you. My momma would be mad at me. To think she sent me to school all those years. Thanks for the follow!
Good job!! you didn’t mention anything in Macomb County per usual. Mount Clemens is a great place for a first time homebuyers with its fun downtown.
Thanks for the feedback, many home buyers will take that into account. We will keep that in our notes.
What are the best areas of Dearborn to buy a house .
"Best" is for your situation, budget, needs etc. Are you considering buying a home in the area?
Thank you
Welcome!

Love the good vibes!
Would NEVER go there... go to Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. 🩷
Have you ever visted?
Lol nice, but what about number of bedrooms and square footage.
This home tour was a long time ago. There were 3 bedrooms and they had plans to add more.
It's garbage now 2024, ghetto
Not very nice.
Rules in a over crouded nightmare give your head a shake
??
How to tell me your a realtor near ann arbor without ayaing you are from ann arbor.
We do focus mostly on the Southeast Michigan area
It's weird you put so many white people photos when it is a muslim majority city, has the largest muslim population in the US, has 140 mosques and is also home of the 120,000 sq. ft. islamic center of America mosque.
just generic Broll from storyblocks.
One expects more accuracy when the highlight is that it's a Muslim city @livinginDetroit (Just honest feedback)
We appreciate the feedback.
Michigan is good in July 😅
Truth!
I lived in TC and it is my favorite place.
Agreed, it is awesome.
Leaving out Northern Michigan when it comes to rural towns in Michigan is a mistake.
We focus primarily on Southeast Michigan and Metro Detroit area.
@, understood. However, Northern Michigan is synonymous with rural living and it’s not just Traverse City neither. Petoskey, Cadillac, Alpena, Manistee, Rogers City, and Ludington definitely have their advantages too.
All of these cities are terrible, pollution, high crime , lousy schools, please take my advice, northern Michigan is not the place you want to move to!
All of these cities are terrible, pollution, high crime , lousy schools, please take my advice, northern Michigan is not the place you want to move to!
Love all those places. I have been to all of them and they are all awesome in their own right. :)
I was there from 2008-2022. Originally from the east side of Detroit (7 Mile/Gratiot). Then my parents moved to Wayne in 1997. But when we moved to Westland, those were my prime years. Thanks for the video, bro! Currently in Shreveport, LA. Once again, ready to relocate lol.
Well if you're wanting to move back to Michigan set up a calendly invite with us!
"Drag Queen Bingo!" LOL.
How was your holiday season, Matt?
It was good Dennis! How about yours?
I really enjoyed your video. I'm sorta shopping for a house in "The Pointes." You provided interesting information but didn't address "Why People are Hesitant to Move to Grosse Pointe." Thanks
Hey Michael! Shoot us a call, let's chat on your move! (734) 404-7998
For a house that's really closer to Ann Arbor than Detroit it's price is way too high for what it is in my opinion. Before Covid it was valued at a much fairer price. Maybe if inflation continues to decline with new leadership that house will be more reasonable of a buy, but right now 600k is too much, around 500 would be more fitting.
Thanks for the feedback. We hav sold a few in that sub from $650-800K. The market seems to be holding value.
@@LIVINGINDETROIT That's good to know, personally I would hold my investment off for maybe a couple more years but for others the time now might be more appropriate.
Beautiful town
It really is!
How are the schools? Thinking of moving here i have a middle schooler and a high schooler, coming from Naperville, Illlinois but family is in Michigan
Hey there! Thanks for connecting. I have friends in Naperville! There are a few options for top ranked schools in the area for sure. Maybe we can chat a bit more on things? Feel free to text us! (734) 404-7998 Thanks and happy holidays!
I was a Police Officer in Plymouth Twp. in the 80's. The City was, and probably still is, a unique culture in a good way if you like to be connected. One of the Officers purchased a house and was lamenting about it costing 88K. Lol
Always something going on downtown! and $88k sounds like a fever dream
I grew up in Oakland County and always said if I returned to Metro Detroit I would want to live in Grosse Pointe. Especially now that downtown Detroit is so great.
Its a great place to look into!
Former Canton Township resident here to say 100% to your list. Plymouth, like Canton is too crowded. I remember when it wasn't like that. Also, this was very well produced. Good luck on your channel!
When a town or city becomes a growing area to move to crowds tend to happen. Good thing is there are still places near by if you want to avoid crowds!
Palmer Park And Palmer Woods Do Show On Balmoral Drive And Sherwood Forest Area."Thank,You!!!"
Dearborn is completely crazy in terms of growth. Not only is it the fastest growing city in Michigan (2023 full-year data), and the 14th fastest growing city in America, but new houses keep getting built here as well - which is kind of amazing, considering how little space there is for them. If you look, the city is usually ranked by Redfin somewhere around the "90" mark for market hotness (the top 10% of the nation) in terms of how fast an average property goes from first listing to pending sale, and how much above asking cost it sells for. We believe this to be accurate, as our house here has more than doubled in value in less than six years (with most of that increase in the last 3.2 years), and though we are not even listing or selling, we've had multiple private offers anyway. What people like about living here is this: if you want actual, real cultural diversity, nothing else in Michigan comes close. Jobs pay well. World headquarters to a Fortune 500 (Ford) company as well as Carhartt. The Middle-Eastern food is the best in America, and the food scene insanely competitive, and thus, price right. The town often feels a bit more like a city than a suburb, where everything you need is within walking distance (my grocery shopping, all 3 of my doctors, the post office, UPS, FedEx, veterinarian, bakeries, restaurants, etc. are all less than a mile - and accessible via nice tree-lined sidewalks), and if you want/need a ride, Smart/Flex car rides are only $1 for all residents of the city. Beyond that, K-14 has been covered for all residents for a good while, and the town hast two colleges. City services are pretty much unrivaled (ex: even when YOUR sewer pipe breaks - the part running from the house to the sewer main - the city covers the repairs almost entirely - the digging, removing the old pipe, replacing it, and even the landscaping repairs afterwards). Police are amongst the best in the nation (over 200 officers for a small city, with 911 having a 5 minute average call-to-on-location response time - they arrived in 2.5 minutes to a call I made over a senior who had fallen from their bike and was hurt), and are highly supported by the community. Three excellent libraries. Five public pools and three splash pads, all of which are free to residents under 13 years of age. Lastly, houses here vary wildly not only in style but in size as well (indicating income diversity), often right in the same neighborhood (my neighborhood has houses 600 sq ft to 4500 sq ft), so there is far less cookie cutter neighborhoods with class monotony/segregation like so much of the rest of Michigan. Downsides: the east end (and part of the north) sits against a rough area of Detroit and crime drifts over to that end or part of Warren as well as Ford rd. at times. Police are usually on it, but everyone here would love to see Claytown & the Warren ave. communities of Detroit improve like Corktown and the like have. Schools are a mixed bag, depending on the neighborhood, and too often middling in performance.
I grew up in Birmingham. My grandmother's house was on Willits Still there.
Great place to grow up in!
I lived in Traverse City for 26 years. We moved to Tucson 7 years ago and can't wait to move back to TC. We miss the 4 seasons.
I've always loved the seasons in Michigan, especially when I can enjoy the beautiful fall colors in TC.
My aunt lives in Palmer woods, it’s my fav too.
Wow you seem to have a hidden agenda. Trying to sell more homes? Most know that Traverse city, Grand Rapids, Holland and Kalamazoo are the fastest growing cities in the state of Michigan but all the ones that you listed were on the east side.
We focus on southeast Michigan, such as living in Detroit..
My husband and I moved to Brighton from Chicago 2 years ago . We rented for year, which was a big mistake, we should've just bought. We eventually found our beautiful home that we paid almost 60K over asking price 😂 My dog loves downtown Brighton 🐕 We are so happy in Michigan ❤
We're so glad to have you here in Michigan!
The taxes are extremely high in Grosse pointe.
When you say that, what do you compare them to?
