I just discovered this channel today because of Outer Wilds and I love how authentic you are!

that entrance looked pretty hidden to me.

I don't understand why you used right trigger to go to a planet. Right trigger makes you go above, not frontwise.

You know what I absolutely LOVE about this game? How everything is right there but we just can't see it. You discovered the "hidden" elevator in the hangar like any of us would: by going up the dam and exploring each room. Even funnier, when someone discovers that shortcut they also tend to check the other side of the hangar, just in case there is another path hidden there as well... And of course, there isn't! The devs have made sure there is a little area to explore even though it's empty, and they just let our curiosity do the rest. I really love when devs kind of play tricks on us like that. It means they anticipated typical gamer instincts/behaviors and made sure to design their game in a way that would surprise us.

the "other entrance to the stranger" is from the satellite method as its meant to be a bit more scripted. no shortcut to get inside a bit linear. it forces you inside to a raft to where you learn your light triggers those control orbs and then the switch to drop the raft... then the raft goes down a narrow path to the first raft grabber light shaft to teach you about that mechanic... so on your first visit you fell off the raft then continued to amazingly just do your own thing which was amazing lol. but yea that entrance is pretty pointless after the first visit so then they teach you the mark on hud which takes you to the other entrance every time so you can get inside quicker and just gogogo

the only way to waste time in outer wilds is talking directly into the camera for 5+ minutes without pausing the game. or if streaming talking to chat for 5+ minutes without pausing. Though with the DLC stuffs not as time sensitive as say the interloper where you have 2 very brief windows to get inside

You know the movie "Don't look up"? I really liked it. You could have played a major role in it ::D Have fun finding your answers.

A little tip for next time - one of the unique things about being on the inside of a hollow ship/world (like The Stranger), instead of on the outside (like we are on the surface of the Earth), is that there's no horizon preventing you from seeing faraway places in the ship/world =)

When you closed the door at the end of the video, i screamed. I mean the door in the high energy lab.

When you took out the warp core from ash twin, I was also being excited and nervous.Then you found the vessel, and the coordinate of the eye of the universe was showing on the screen, which shows you how to arrive here. You were so confused that you didn’t know how to enter the coordinates. I was anxious and felt a little happy at the same time. What a real feeling! Even if you don’t know what to expect yet, a sense of purpose and anticipation is clearly within you.Thank you for making me feel that amazing feeling again！

Hey maisy alittle tip for your next play through . Since you dont use the scout launcher often when you arrive on the stranger shoot it a the dam and leave it there, and it will tell the integrity of the dam right before it breaks open. Hope that helps. Also btw that one area where it did tell you to use it near the dam , you need to take a picture of something and use this information for something !!

@29:39 This is why I don't watch twitch streamers. They are often guided by the viewers instead of just figuring out what to do on their own. Speaking for myself, it ruins the experience of watching the playthrough.

You're doing great! I totally got frustrated following a lot of the same dead ends in my playthrough. And you've picked up on a couple things much more quickly than I did. From my point of view, when you wanted to go to the fire house while sleeping at the small tower, I knew it wouldn't work but I wasn't frustrated with you. I was wondering if that would let you know you know you could sleep at the tall tower and be unaffected by the dam breaking. Great job! The first time I was grabbed by one of them, it was in the Shrouded Woodlands just as the dam broke, so they evapourated while grabbing me. I didn't know what I was looking at!

The computer log is your best friend, it sums up everything for you so it’s very important. You’re doing great so far.

Well done solving the fireplace!!! ^_^ You exactly put the pieces together and did it with a lot less guidance from the game than a lot of people. Lol.

I looove that you "brute forced" the fireplace, lol. It's not a bad thing, it's fun to watch people discover things on their own. My biggest advice for the DLC is to complete the ship log before you finish the DLC, there is a lot of story and context that you're missing since you've only explored maybe 50% of the Stranger. Also, the game does give you context to do the fireplace part, you just happen to be super observant to do it on your own. So my other advice is that if you're feeling stuck on something, the game does give you context on how to solve all puzzles, you just likely haven't found the clue yet. But don't let that deter you from doing whatever you want in the order you want. And "Owlk" is the term most commonly given to the fri-enemies

It was so interesting watching others who didn't know any detail of the game. Following your steps, which was totally different from mine, gave me a new perspective of the game. I must say your first playthrough is very wonderful. It's very funny watching your special routine--the most impressive part to me is that you went to the high energy lab many times before going to the ash twin, which seems to be a little silly but also intrigued me, calling me back to the meaningless but impressive parts I had made when I was playing the beautiful game. I don't know whether I express it clearly. I'm not good at English. Any way, thank you for your fantastic videos.

This is probably the craziest brute force playthrough I've ever seen. Keep doing what you're doing! Make sure you take some time to go through and watch as many slide reels around the Stranger as you can. They will give you a lot of context when you get to the end of the DLC.

Being scared is part of what this DLC is about. Don't blame yourself, it's been designed specifically for that and, as you might have guessed already, the developers of this game are really good at what they do. I'm a game dev myself (have been for roughly 15 years), and I still can't create anything remotely as good as this game. They're good, REALLY good! So go ahead, be scared as much as you want. Don't forget what Outer Wilds is in essence, for now you're scared but at some point you'll learn not to be, just like how you learned to overcome fears in the base game (I mean, Dark Bramble for a start, and falling into a black hole... hello?!). It is still a game about using knowledge to your advantage after all!

I know it's been said a million times, but this game consistently proves to me how each of us has such a unique approach to problem solving. It's what makes this playthrough so fun, because I get to experience the game I love in a whole new way:) Keep it up!

The ship log is great. It lets you replay the slide reels! It's just that there's less triggers of things you've found in the DLC then base game. I would keep checking it. Also not silly, that's why Slate tells you about it again, it's easy to forget that feature. Like how the game reminds you of the flashlight button at the door. The community calls them Owleks (owl-elk) or Strangers if you want a name to use.

i've always felt the end of this game hits so hard because it legitimately feels like 'closure' on something profound. every time i have experienced/watched others reach the end, it hits just as hard. beautifully made game.

Fortunately at the end of this video you may have realized that the ship log actually is extremely valuable for the DLC. It'll easily clarify things you may have misinterpreted, and lets face it, the dlc has lots of things that can be misinterpreted, lol. You are making extremely solid progress though it would make more sense as to what you're doing once you understand what the end goal even is. I'm not sure if you've figured out what the end goal is beyond confusion and happy accidents leading to more confusion. Hahaha. Eventually it'll come together.
