Why are of going by military ball rounds? If you run a AR under 12 inches you should be running ballistic tip or soft point rounds. Same reason FBI dropped the .40 better 9mm jhps.

Not all 5.56 rounds are designed to tumble. You are referring to a 55 grain FMJ. Hornady makes rounds optimized for SBRs.

PSA rifles work fine. Reasonable price does not = poor quality. PSA uses FN barrels. FN makes some of the best barrels on the planet.

They're just going to steal it from my car. That's why I don't have a truck gun. I have to have my firearm on my person.

Good info; though I don’t plan on trading at all; my goal will be survival for me and mine. Not setting up shop to barter for things, personally I think that may just draw unwanted attention

Personally I would put the AR at the end of this list or even replace it with a 9mm carbine with the same magazine as your sidearm. I don’t think the AR is going to be as advantageous as the rest of what’s listed here just my two cents.

In Atlanta, cars/trucks with kit are LOOT DROPS. I have a buddy that parked his truck at Hartsfield airport and the truck (and all of its contents) were stolen. In the busiest airport in the world, there was NO video of the break in and theft. In a garage that photographs license plates into and out of the parking decks, no photos or videos. He lost a Daniel Defense AR15 and a ton of equipment. Several thousands of dollars.

My truck gun is a 5.7×28 with 2 mags! BUT UNDER A RUG IN BACK SEAT IS A AR WITH A 11.5" BARREL WITH 2 MAGS BONDED TOGETHER! Also another 3 mags loaded to 28 rounds!! Loaded with 50grain vmax & blitzkings!! I roll my own & they chrono at 3350 fps!

PSA ARs are affordable quality weapons.

I've had too many neighbors' cars broken into and guns stipen from them to support keeping one in the vehicle at all times. I do carry a side arm with me in a home made seat holster that sits between my legs, but it's only in my vehicle while I'm in it.

9” barrel 300blk with law tactical folding stock, cry havoc quick barrel disconnect fits perfect into my tuffy “safe” in my rams center console. 556 is more common and might be better at 200-400 yards but 300blk is better for barriers and most situations you will be 100 yards in.

I actually have two “truck guns”. One which I carry a lot is a PSA Dagger 9mm threaded barrel, suppressor height sights that cowitness with a Holosan red dot. My second “truck gun” is a PSA 10.5” with Vortex red dot, MBUS cowitness flip up sights, PTK/VTS, and a single point sling. I keep 3 spare mags for each, and at least two fixed blade knives. This is my main weapons load out for a “get home” bag. PSA has some excellent, very reliable products that stand up to a lot of abuse.

So… my 7” AR-15 pistol might be a little loud? Fits in my bag nicely though. And stop with the tumble and destruction argument. It’s been proven false repeatedly, and it’s being used against gun owners by politicians.

My truck attracts too much attention to want to keep a rifle in it, unless I am going out to shoot guns somewhere. My truck is a 1986 Chevy crew cab with 12" lift and 40" tires. I cannot take that thing anywhere without somebody asking me if I want to sell it, or leave a note on it asking if I want to sell it. I just carry a Sig in .40 caliber that can hold 15-rounds.
