We're enjoying our holiday and the beautiful summer in Finland. We found an amazing swimming spot in Espoo, deep in the country/forest, but still in the city! 🤯

After travelling to Finland, we spent a few days of self-isolation at a summer cottage in the Finnish countryside. One of my favourite places in the world ✨
We are leaving Mauritius (for now)

We made the decision to leave our island paradise to go home and spend time with family. In the end, not a hard decision to make after 1.5 years apart. This is a travel vlog from our trip via Paris to Helsinki, Finland.
Welcome to the vlog! 🏝☀️

what a great vid, may i ask what skills in coding is needed to start a saas project?
Hi Dan, I left a message on twtr but no answer. I really have a question regarding the AliAbdaal theme. I wanted to know if i can add a background color and also change the accent colors for like the buttons and titles. this is super important to me. can you please replay to this message. thanks... Gena
Oh, in my hometown! 🤩
Inspiring!

Super valuable videos! Could you make one video where you discuss the business side of side projects - i.e do you have a legal entity, how do you manage taxes, VAT of side projects etc? Thanks! :)
Not a bad place to spend quarantine : ) Best of luck with your new adventure.
if that's what quarantine looks like, I'll be happy to be stuck in that hotel for 14 days while enjoying the pool, sports activity, buffet and lie down on the beach watching the beautiful sunset..
I from mauritius 🇲🇺
Loving these Dan. Following you on Twitter
Hi Dan what is the laptop stand you’re using in this video in the hotel room? I need something like that!
It’s a Flio stand. It’s great!
Hey Dan, your journey is inspirational, how do you normally go around finding an idea worth building? Im not sure how to validate if something that I would like to build would have an audience or not, do you have any recommendations?
This week’s video will be about just that! 👌🏼
I can't wait to go there but i will wait till october when they will finally fullly open Mauritius :)
Must be expensive 🤭 anyway it’s so beautiful island
Enjoyed your vid! Bought for my girlfriend same Air w/ 16gb RAM, and was very impressed by performance. It's way faster even if compared with my MBP '16 i7 By the way, you can make your videos better by getting new camera(for home shootings, etc), todays youtube standards are high :)
Planning to get a camera soon, as I mention in the video. iPhone is amazing to get started with though. Still experimenting with the whole medium; when I’m comfortable I’ll definitely upgrade
I've had the Air for a few months and it's still killing it for dev, design & video editing! You'll love it :)
is there any possibility of leaving the hotel before the 14 days quarantine ends?
Before October 1st, no. You must stay within the hotel. After 14 days and a negative test, you can leave and get into the island (which is what we're doing). This is the same for vaccinated and unvaccinated people. Vaccinated travellers arriving after October 1st can go straight into Mauritius.
As from 1st Oct the borders will be opened. You must be vaccinated and tested negative.
Love it - so excited to be able to follow along with your adventure via the vlogs!
Definitely a good idea to buy the pro when it'll come out. I bet the 14inch w/ M2 or M1X chip is going to become the new standards - I'll definitely grab one myself.
I have the Air with 16gb ram as well. Like it a lot!
Awesome video and you really have a great family! Excited for your next step! Pizza looked wonderful by the way!
Same quarantine for everyone!
Amazing quarantine spot! Enjoy!
Congrats for going full-time indie, wish you the best!
What hotel is this? I'd love to visit one day!
Sugar Beach on the west coast. But there are plenty of amazing hotels here! This is just one example
In the west.. Black river district... where my parents live. I have not been back its been 5 years now.
That’s a nice life
My 2 biggest hopes for the vlog 1. Epic colour grading 2. More code talk
Thanks for the feedback Jesse!
Do we should do quarantine even we have done of 2 doses vaccine?
Yes this is vaccinated quarantine. Non-vaccinated quarantine is different; you have to stay in a hotel room for 14 days. But this is all changing on October 1. If you’re vaccinated you can just enter the country
@@danrowden Hi Dan, Where did you get this info? If I go to Mauritius after october 1 I will not need to wait in quarantine then. By the way, did you choose your hotel before arriving Mauritius? Can I arrange my hotel reservationafter arriving Mauritius? Thanks in advance.
@@sailor1885 All the information can be found at mauritiusnow.com From October 1st, there is no quarantine for vaccinated travellers. You have to have a negative PCR test before you travel, then do two in Mauritius (days 0 and 5 of your stay). Otherwise, you're free to enter like the good old days. I'm not sure why you'd leave booking a hotel until you arrive. I suggest booking before you travel!
@@danrowden Thanks. I was talking about quarantine hotel but I think I will not need to stay in there.
Congrats Dan! Rooting for you.
Curious about which iphone you're using as camera. Best of luck for the channel though 🚀⭐️
It's an iPhone 12 Pro. Thanks Yash!
How do you go about visas when living in places for a while?
I have a permanent residence permit for Mauritius; it’s our home. Our Finland trip was just a holiday and no visas needed for Finnish and UK passport holders 👍🏼
Love your videos. Best of luck, Dan!
I’m so happy I found your channel! Thank you for sharing these tips (also like your vlog style)
This is a huge accomplishment and I’m so happy for you! I’ve been learning as much as I can to be able to create the same opportunity for myself, thank you for sharing your story!
Hi Dan! Nice to hear these tips. As a potential suggestion for a video, how about one about launching things? I'm currently close to launching my collaborative wiki project around Neurodiversity.
Stunning scenery/surroundings and best of luck with your new ventures!!
This can be a scary experience, but from what I know of you (based on your online presence/twitter), I think this is what's going to make you thrive even further than you already have. Based on my own experience, a full-time salary can *seem* like a life-jacket keeping you afloat... but for me, it actually an anchor weighing me down to keep me from seeing my full potential. cover myI never would've realized that potential if I was never let go from that job. I thought it was the thing keeping me afloat, but turns out it was the thing keeping me a little too comfortable. Now you have unlimited time to pursue your passions, projects, interests and business ideas. For someone with your grit and tenacity, it's going to work out just fine. You've already provided so much value to people; I can't wait to see what else you bring to the world.
congrats Dan. Wishing you all the best for the future.
Congrats! Wish you all the best.
Best of Luck for your NEW LIFE ....😊
Amazing Journey Though
wishing you luck!
👊
Good luck Dan. Great view
Congrats on taking the leap! Btw some technical overview of what you use for your projects would be fun
I may go into technical stuff at some point. Thanks for the suggestion!
Just came here to say, f*cking love Muji. Nice video, Dan :)
😄 Thanks!
Great tips. Nice display font too! Freelancing is my main gig but I'm also working on my RUclips channel, an online course, and an online education / community platform. ✌🏻
Thanks for watching Matt! Sounds like you also have a lot on!
@@danrowden that and 3 kids!
That looks lovely. Reminds me of Summer Camp in Michigan!
Hi, Dan! Great video. Do you pick projects where the required technologies for building are already well known to you? Or the idea is what matters first and you are willing to learn on the way even if it's time consuming?
Hi Firuz. Thanks for watching! I use the same tech for every project so that tech is never part of the decision process. Typically I’ll have to do something new in each project but that’s the fun of it
Nice video
