Maryland, My Maryland ~ 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Antietam ~ "Up Comes Hill"
Просмотров 32 тыс.11 лет назад
Final Attack: After taking the Lower Bridge, Burnside moved across the fields from east to west, pushing back the Confederate right flank. Just as it appeared that Lee's line was breaking, Confederate Gen. A.P. Hill's Light Division arrived from Harpers Ferry to drive Burnside back to Antietam Creek.

I would like to thank the 21st Georgia Volunteer Infantry, and all those that participated in making this possible. There is a lot I wish I could have done better in terms of audio and video, but I think the outcome is still pretty good. If you have good speakers, turn them up and bring up the bass for the best experience! Please feel free to leave comments! Enjoy!!

Fred the Horse just chowing on some grass mid battle was peak realism lol
Seems greatful and gorgeous!) Long live CSA.
I had two young soldiers of my family who fought for Georgia in the 23rd infantry .I am very proud of them. They were James C Stiles and John Stiles. Long live the Confederacy
Now those are some actually great looking impressions, top notch
Too bad no one has come up with a paintball musket... these reenactments would be so much more interesting
Paintballs would ruin the reenactments, because they would obviously make the uniforms dirty and the reenactors would have to walk around with a paint-splattered shirt until it could be washed. It would look goofy especially if they paraded afterwards. Plus, safety issue.
I remember this one well... I was the Federal skirmisher with the pointed slouch hat...
Nice volleys boys!! You fellows march well, must be well drilled. What unit are you with?
this one short ass civil war soldier
You have real bullet
enjoyed the pictures and music *LIKED* the video - LT
looks like fun, thanks for sharing *LIKED* and SUBSCRIBED* --LT
This is cool
I will second an observation made by another poster. Whenever the Confederate army is shown the soldiers are entirely too fat. The Confederate army was always thin on rations and by 1864 it was starving. So please get those chubby Rebs off to the gym so at least they appear more the part.
Excellent.
The rip off of Gaines mill but only without the G.
What a ridiculous way to fight. Makes me sick to watch. The generals were all dumb fucktards.
And did you graduate from West Point the same time they did? Or are you only just applying modern logic to 1860s warfare?
@@sirisaacbrock798 ive studied enough of the history of warfare to know that 99% of the generals and war leaders who send other people to death while they dine on roast quail and champagne are dispicable scum. That should be self-evident to any idiot.
Blood and iron!!!
I was wondering why the Confederate unit shown initially didn't have a flag? Mind you they certainly look the part. Excellent film.
Of course for the Confederacy!!! ;)
Farbfest
This was actually a "hybrid" event--many, if not a majority, of the reenactors were hardcore/progressives/campaigners.
Brothers wars- A real shame to realize what they fought for has been ruined by oligarchs
Actually, at around ten minutes in, they do pretty good example of firing by companies!
Long live the 4th New Jersey Regiment "The Old Fourth"
Are you using and enfield?
Yep, he's using the .577 P1853 Enfield rifle-musket.
Best Battalion in the field! 7th ANV
I know this is a pretty old vid but geez, there's something about this cover that has a sorta bittersweet happiness to it. I really like that, thanks man
Sorry for the late replay, but Thanks man!!

Is RUclips channels dead now
Why did you do shoulder arms on the left shoulder and not the right?
Different manuals; they are using Gilham's, which places "Shoulder Arms" on the left shoulder instead of the right shoulder as in Hardee's.
Respawn in..3..2...
Look at 25:30
Huh
For some reason that refreshed RUclips
Not using the rammers=lazy.
It's a safety precaution as much as anything; all it takes is one new recruit leaving the rammer in one time and someone could be seriously injured or killed.
Not at all. It's a safety precaution. Besides, they're used for firing demonstrations and such outside of the main battles.
20:40 lol short adventure
I have been meaning to say that your videos fully inspired me to use action cameras when I'm on the field at reenactments, I think you were the first to post any by the way, my channel is dedicated to POV images while on the field during a battle, I am with the 7th TN Co. G Dismounted Cavalry Army of Tennessee. Thank you for these posts I think your footage looks much cleaner than mine hope to see something else from you soon, much love and appreciation from West Tennessee.
Pleas get a better camera the audio hurts my ears
Kudos to the fellow who was crying in agony.
The video succeeds in attempting to depict the reality of sights and sounds of the battle. The terror and horror experienced of the real battle can only be imagined.
Cool video
You must be the third one in from the left at the front row
Those were some good hits
My honors to both sides and flags..but please..glorious battle flag of N Virginia for the CSA..remove the star for my State of MO...we were only represented in the Stars and Stripes
Not so fella. Better bone up on your history and not the nonsense taught to you in your public schools.Missouri was going with the south, then Lincoln came I and replaced all the local and state governments with his cronnies to stop them from seceding. He did the same thing in Maryland and Kentucky. There were soldiers represented on both sides from those states. Now lets talk about States Rights hehh? And yes I was born up North so don't go there and use the Southern heritage thing for an argument.
You're absolutely right, I live in Paulding County Ga and The "orphan brigade" from Kentucky did a lot of fighting and dieing here in Dallas, Ga, They have a Battlefield park and a mountain bike trail named in honor of them here. And some historical markers.
what are they getting hit with?
they are firing blanks, which means that they are getting hit with imagination.
WHATS THE SONG USED IN THE BEGINNING!?!?!?
I'd be cool if they somehow managed to fire paintballs out of their rifles to give the soldiers in the reenactment a more realistic (not that it's already realistic enough) but actually fire projectiles at each other and the possibility of actually getting hit with physical substitute for a civil war mini ball
It's called air soft
Unda Le Bridge an airsoft musket would be great
Kyle Gates They should make them red paintball to make it look like blood!!!!
deejaythompson I've said this too before!!!
I’m pretty sure a paintball would explode in the barrel due to the gunpowder.
@pete vassilakos is that real or is it just a replay of the civil war
Hi Pete, I am producing a documentary on Fort Heiman, a civil war fort in my area. I would love to use these films as b-roll in my documentary with your permission. Would you be okay with me using these clips in my production? It is a non-profit film as I am a television student. Thanks.
Sorry for the delay. Absolutely! Credit Pete Vass VASSdesign
I am also making a documentary on the American civil war. May I use footage from this great film for it? It may become commercial with time if I can get the film pitched but you will in both cases be credited.
I saw you. you're the skinny guy with the beard!
I was here but I wasn't a reb
What is the song?
Confederates or Union?
+SpeedyMaster99 at first I thought you siad " Confederates are gay"
