США
Добавлен 6 май 2016
Beth Sobiloff and Marcia Rothwell are the Two Grannies on the Road. They travel, explore, and have adventures to share! They love to find local products and show how they are made, learn the history of a city or town, and find baby boomers who have reinvented themselves. Life is an adventure!
Meadowbrook Orchard
With PYO fruits in season, local products, a great restaurant, and disc golf, there's something for everyone at Meadowbrook Orchards Disc Golf in Sterling. But I think our favorate was the homemade parmesan garlic french fries!

It's so great to meet a young lady who's passionate about farming and always looking to do the right thing. We loved Maplebrook Farmstead with all of the local products, the cute goats and baby calf. We're so happy that the community is supporting this hard-working young farmer.

Visiting "Oh My Gosh!" Antiques & Collectibles in Sterling was quite an experience! Between Cheryl's bubbly personality, the history of the building and all the great antiques and collectables, we could have spent the day there!
Emma's Cafe, Sterling, MA

Emma's Cafe - Sterling, MA has a great mix of standard breakfast items, like eggs with corned beef hash, and healthier items, like smooties. But everything is made from scratch in their kitchen, including the muffins and other baked goods. Everything we tried was delicious! We loved the tributes to the bank that used to occupy the space!

We were in awe of the incredible American Heritage Museum. Filled with vintage and rare aircraft, tanks, cars and other war memorabilia, the videos and narrations really make you think about our history - and our future! Do yourself a favor, and plan a visit. Beth returned with her husband to see the World War II reenactment.

It's Fricecream Day again! This week's trip to Fitchburg ended at Hollis Hills Farm. We found local products in their store, including cheeses from our friends at Smith's Country Cheese and other goodies. But our main goal was to end our day with ice cream. Double bonus points because they're on the Massachusetts Ice Cream Trail!

Our day in Stow started at Nan's Kitchen, and we ended up back there for lunch. That has never happened before! They have lots of healthy options that we wanted to try. But they also have fried chicken. They make everything from scratch, and their menu is very creative.

Our last piece of the visit to Lancaster was a drive around town with Heather Lennon, President of the Lancaster Historical Society. The highlight was getting a surprise tour of the beautiful tudor built by John Thayer and being lovingly restored by the current owners. You've goat to see how the tour ends!

Once in awhile, we do interviews with interesting people. Earlier this year, we met Massachusetts State Rep. Dylan Fernandes. We love the fact that he's a huge advocate for the environment, affordable housing, and issues relevant to senior citizens. Last week, he agreed to talk to us.

Happy Fricecream Day! When we went to Middleboro last winter, we interviewed one of the owners of Joyful Scoops. But since they weren't open for business, we didn't have any ice cream. Beth and Roger corrected that by going back this fall. This shop is on the Massachusetts Ice Cream Trail because their ice cream is made locally by Acushnet Creamery. Beth's favorite!
