It's designed that way, but it is really old and will not release without a push and will also no longer go anticlockwise. Needs a bit of attention
The yellow one is average.
I personally like the yellow one more because on the green one they removed the metal axles so its just plastic on plastic, which to me sound not the good.

You hold the button on the controller till the light flashes white and train will turn itself off
