SNJ's Rachel Filmer spoke to Nick Ferrari of LBC today about the crisis in SEND and why, because of a lack of investment in school SEND resources and training, parents have been forced to seek statutory provision-and why cutting disabled children's rights is wrong-headed and short-sighted...

The loss of his seat in 2017 just as implementation was ramping up meant former SEND Minister, Edward Timpson, wasn’t able to push home some of the things he had wanted to expand, for example, the role of the independent supporter to “hand-hold” parents through the changeover. Instead, the role came to an end, losing a vital support for families navigating a new system, leaving the often incons...

Go! Yorkshire man. Common sense is not uncommon up-north. This gentleman now speaks out on Gaza and the so-called war, which we all know has nothing to do with war - massive breaking of all laws and committing heinous crimes.

Really good to hear that there is an understanding of what's going wrong - especially with special needs children that can't function within a school structured system. I hope something good comes of this. Well done to all that became involved.

Excellent ladies. Considering education through a intersectionality lens is vital. In 2020 it is rarely done. Disability and race occurs simultaneously. Black disabled children are being failed and constantly pathologised as a deficit by professionals. Who have not been impacted by intersectional discrimination such as race and disability. If you look back through history you will see that in fact the system Black disabled children are being educated in wasn't designed with then in consideration. Instead of changing the system to make teaching diverse and an inclusive environment. It was easier for the broken discriminatory system to apply a label on a child as having behaviour difficulties. Which is so wrong.

Around minute 24 - 25 Christine asks about instances where a parent finds themselves dealing with a S47 investigation because they are being 'difficult'. The cases I know of are where MASH referrals are repeatedly made or threatened by school. There is only so much scrutiny that a parent fighting the system for their disabled child can take. They therefore stop fighting because they can not deal with yet another protracted period of investigation. It's bad enough when you have a sensible social worker leading the triage and investigation. It's downright horrible when you have a social worker who needs more training. In those cases, you are guilty just because the school or LA have accused you, not because you have done anything wrong and certainly not because there is evidence apart from the school/LA's word.

Do it do it do it! It's going to be much more difficult to address unlawful activity by the LA's but in the end numbers will have an impact if we all continue. The pursuit of justice resumed after the war and people were held to account for their crimes...I'm not giving up until my circumstances force me to!

This bill is extremely concerning for those of us who are parents of children with SEN, and even more so for parents of adults who require care. I am going to write to our MP with my thoughts, and wonder what campaigning we might all get involved in to prevent the removal of absolute rights.

All beautiful in theory, if you work in a school you will realize that it goes in the bin, once flexibility is given, EHCP just as a disguise for pocket money on tiny bits of intervention but no inclusion, pity really

As in America schools they promoted ADHD or ADD telling school districts we will give you X amt. 200$$ for every child you can get on Ritalin or Addrell6 etc. Then the schools tell parents your child is distracting the learning of others and we think he has a ADD problem, they need to see a doctor adap. Lol the doctors go along to because they are brainwashed to, by the same objectives and Nanda rules of gov. Health care thats why we can't have free world hc its not as bad but you can bet your asrze their gmo is causing it and all other toxins in the environment just like 5G
