Remembering the era of George Robledo, Skinner Normanton, Gordon Pallister, my weekend humour still depends to some extent on how the Reds do! As now a lively 87 year old I so cherish those early years, despite then coughing soot and grime, spent, for example, roaming the Hull and Barnsley and early trysts at the Ritz! Accents are our proud identifiers. My childhood elderly neighbour’s invariable greeting: “Ows tha gooin on sireee, reight” is ingrained in my soul! At this distance in time, your video only reinforces the privilege I had to have spent my early years in such a community.
