Just an Old Retired Fart in the California Central Valley Tinkering in the Garage and doing it Old School. Because back in our day we tried to fix things first . whether it's simple Woodworking, basic Welding, Autobody & Paint, Photography, Fishing, Guns & Reloading, Army Talk, Gardening, or just whatever BS is on my mind, I'm just here enjoying my retirement.

Good Morning My Friend
@@caseyhaner4686 and good morning to you Sir.
How are you?@@theoldfartsgarage
@@theoldfartsgarage I'm good
@@theoldfartsgarage what did you have for dinner?
What's up buddy?
hey Fernando, you could also have someone scan the label and print it out on sticker paper!
@@mrscalifdreamer true👍🏽👍🏽
We have the same stand for our bench grinder. Has always worked great.
@@evantimm2326 yeah I also have my bench grinder and a smaller stand.
A vice should be put on a bench! Not going to work out too well!
@@frankjgornickjr3676 all I have is a two car garage with limited space, so this will serve my needs. Thank You for your comment. 👍🏽
What size compressor did you use
I have an 80gal. 7.5 hp. Ingersoll Rand
thats a cool truck mod ...so did you get a replacement for your arm ?
Thank you, no unfortunately they fused my wrist.
Good job
😊 Thank You
do you remember settings
I used the 1.3 , at 25-27 psi. With air flow and paint wide open.
Thanks, that how i found your channel. i was looking for my 1963 C10, specific videos on how-to's.
Oh good, I’m sorry my videos are as detailed as the more advanced guys , but I hope you can at least get a little bit of help or Ideas out of them.
Yaaayyy!!!! Let’s get this bad boy running! 😄
I’m so excited! My door and windows work great! 👍🏼 😂
Really like the color. Looks like Kubota Bright Orange to me. First time here. Good Video.
@@charlesloar3210 Thank You for watching. The color is actually, “ PERFORMANCE RED “ Single Stage from Summit Racing. I just have crappy recording equipment 🤷🏽♂️ Thank You again. More videos to come.
Looking good Fernando! Hope to see you driving it soon!
Thanks Phil, it’s all finally coming together 👍🏽👍🏽
Looking good, a lot of progress ! 👍🏼
Thanks Efrain👍🏽👍🏽
Loves these trucks, my first truck was a 62 in 86 give almost anything to have it back ! ✊✌
@@GMCTIM I hear ya, my first one was also a 62 , I’ve also had a 64,& a 65. Now I have a 63. My dream was to have one from each year 60-66, but do to finacial consequences I had to sell the 62,64,&65. But now I have the 63. Thank You for the comment.
Good job 👏🏼
@@eloza70 Thanks G.
I just got home from the store with 2 gallons of vinegar.
@@EngTecher outstanding 👍🏽👍🏽 that Vinegar will clean up those coins in a heartbeat. Thank You for your comment and support.
@@theoldfartsgarage The only issue. cleaning coins will de-value the coin. If a penny becomes brown, it's worth a penny. But a similar coin like a Lincoln cent brown 1969 is worth 3 cents, just for metal. But if the cent looks like a brand new cent, then it's worth more. If it's old, but very shining is worth more, without being cleaned. I also thought cleaning coins would be good.
Ok , understandable 👍🏾👍🏾
I was wondering were you went to! Glad you're back...I have a question, do you put a wax or an oil or something else to stop the rust from returning?
Well I do have a life outside of the garage that comes first, LOL. And I try to put content out but sometimes it’s just not happening. Thank You anyways.
Good tip, I’m going to try it. 👍🏼
@@eloza70 it actually does work, that’s why when I go to the Flea , I’ll get like Snap-On , Max, and Craftsman tools for almost nothing bring them home and clean them up.
I've done 3 paint jobs in the past. This is the first time I've used the Drizzle D1. Gotta say, I'm super happy with the result. I've got a 60 gal compressor, and it has no issues at all running this little gun - to get the whole car shot in 1 go.
That’s awesome to hear. I have the guns that family and friends have gifted me but I always choose to use my Drizzle. I’m just comfortable with it. And I have an 80 gallon and it rarely has to come on when I spray., thanks for your comment 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks nice video one old fart to another
No, Thank You for watching , Appreciate it. More to come 👍🏽👍🏽
Your paint job turned out slick😊😊
@@OldBondoBilly Thank You Sir. Yeah I couldn’t believe how much it smoothed out by mixing the Clear to the Single Stage . It’s even smoother than factory paint.
Your doors have come out great and having the glass in the cab makes such a difference. Great work 👍👍
@@Classic-Shack Thank You, yeah it’s really starting to look like a real truck. 🛻👍🏽👍🏽
Your beard is two toned now too. 😂
Your silly 😂
I love the custom gauge cluster! And it looks great with the glass in.
Thank you, I appreciate it ❤
Great Start. This is something I too want to do. Not sure if I can't talk my wife into buying me one.....
@@barryhunter6273 Thank You, yeah , this is my retirement present from my wife, so I would have something to keep me busy, and because I’ve had 3 other C10’s but had to sell them for one reason or another. But this one I actually get to keep. 😂🤣 I wish you the best of luck and I hope she’ll get you one.
They just put those bars around it recently
I thinking of getting one boss man. What size compressor do you have and cfm?

Stripes likely because of the heat,, edges dried fast. It'll sand out okay. Kudo's for taking the beating, and moving on with your project. I'm at the same stage, but I'm going to wait til weather here in North Alabama cools, and not so much humidity. Likely late September. That's going to be hard, as my old car is ready for primer right now.
@@JohnnieBravo1 Understandable, yeah we’ve been having quite the heatwave here in California, but I would go stir crazy if I try to wait for cooler weather. My project is in the driveway so I have to get it done before the winter. Appreciate your input and good luck with your project.
i was wondering earlier about the phone, getting aerosol red on the phone, did not think of the heat. Tiger striping, i probably would have done worse! At least you are doing it, i would be apprehensive. Till the next one!
Phones work for me too! If the truck show is in October, what date?
@@EngTecher the truck show’s on October 5th this year.
@@theoldfartsgarage thanks
@@EngTecher it’s a great show if you like trucks. Maybe we’ll see you there.

When I clean the hardware for my restorations, I let the vinegar boil with the hardware. It just cleans them a little quicker when you're short on time. Otherwise I also let them soak for a while. Your truck is looking really good. Can't wait to see you driving it!
Thank You I appreciate it. That’s a good idea too, I’ll have to try that just to do it, it just might change my way of doing things 😁👍🏽.
Good work on the doors 👍, Looking forward to seeing them in paint👍👍
Thank you my Friend , I'm planning on next week to finally Primer,& Paint , and even possibly mount the doors. it' just floors me when I look back three years ago when i started , how far I've come and how much closer I am to finishing.
@@theoldfartsgarage you're doing a great job as well.
Cut ya off an old butter knife, use it as a shaping tool.... old indian trick for old farts.
@@eugenegress5896 cool , I’ve never seen that, I’ll have to look it up. Thanks
Have you ever added a extra 20 gallon tank to a 20 gallon compressor?
No I haven't sorry. I have a 80 gal. for my air supply.
Thank you!! ☺️
You’re welcome 😊
Looking good! 👍🏼
Thank You my Angel 😇
R.I.P BOTH.
Good job sir
Как жалко Brandon Lee . Какой сильный фильм CROW .Спите спокойно ребята. Вы навсегда в наших сердцах
Yes Awesome Movie.
I was RREALLY interested in your thoughts on this gun. I ended up buying a Black Widow HVLP (with additional HTE 1.3 needle and tip extra), and am looking forward to painting my 2nd car. First one I used a Harbor Freight Spectrum, and it worked quite well. I'm a learning old fart. And just having a blast doing it. I'm restoring my 89 Toronado, which I FINALLY got the electronics in it repaired, which then meant a full on restoration. New subscriber!
Thank You @JohnnieBravo1 for your support and comment. I myself don’t have a Black Widow, so I honestly can’t say, I don’t have any Harbor Freight spray guns but from what I’ve seen as in reviews from other painter who do use it , it seems to be a great gun for being a Harbor Freight product. I have multiple Harbor Freight products but I haven’t tried their Spray guns . I do like that gun company’s add the extra needles to their package. But For me personally it comes down to, I have two brands of guns that work just fine for my needs so I don’t feel the need for more. Now if I did paint for a living, I definitely would have bought multiple brands to tryout, but I’m just a Retired Old Fart keeping myself entertained while I live out the rest of my days. And I’m restoring my 63 by trial and error cause I’ve never done this. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more helpful and looking forward to seeing that Toronado.
@@theoldfartsgarage Thank you for your kind response! I'm also just an old retired fart, fooling around in my shop, keeping myself entertained (and learning). I keep telling everybody, it helps keep me from hanging out in bars and chasing loose wimmens, although there could be some advantage to doing that. Looking through your repertoire of videos, it appears we're into lots of the same things.... old cars, trucks, motorcycles, pressure washers, mowers, etc. Gotta keep that Grim Reaper headed the other way long as we can!
HAHAHA! yes sir definitely keeps me out of trouble. see we grew up in a time when we actually used our common sense to build or fix things . there's just no joy in sitting in front of the TV all day just wasting time . I'd rather sit in front of my workbench tearing something apart or making something functional. AH Life Is Good.
Great job man, it's coming along nicely 👍👍
Thank You buddy.
Looks good in primer!!! Add some pinstriping would be cool
Yes it did, Thank You, I wonder if I would’ve just cleared over the primer. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Alright Fernando! I’ve painted thousands of cars since ‘77, but I saved up most of my runs for these last few years😂😂
😂🤣thank you sir,
Progress!
