Problem with Skarner is toplane Skarner is very uninteractive and overpowered compared to jungle Skarner. Jungle Skarner is strong because e basically turns him into cc tank talon. Toplane Skarner gets to do whatever he wants in lane without any type of punishment. He gets to sit behind the minion wave perma pushing with aoe ranged abilities whilst being a tank melee champ and has one of the most oppressive gank setups with his long cc chain. His mana bar is cosmetic allowing him to spam his abilities. He scales entirely on tank stats almost so he just becomes a mid/late game monster if you let him farm. If he’s getting ganked he just runs away with e or can just ult you and or the jungler and then flash away. If they don’t keep his numbers very low he’s a huge issue because his kit is badly Designed. What’s the point of being a tank if you are just going to sit back and throw cannon balls and aoe shockwaves that proc arcane comet every 4 seconds and just run away whenever you want. The point of a tank is that they have to Get up close and personal. For the first 15 minutes of the game he’s literally just a ranged champ and then once he buys heartsteel and tabis he becomes a close range monster. Disgusting champ I’m glad the guy who designed him got fired.

I like how they reworked a low winrate niche champion into a low winrate niche champion. Honestly wish they kept old skarner in at this point. At least that guy looked funny with his 2011 model.

"restoring some of that power" aka 90 hp at lvl 18 and 5 less mana cost which is aimed at lane skarner since junglers have infinite mana from jungle items anyways but taking away his strongest laning tool in the process... when they say they want to strike balance between lane and jungle skarner do they mean they want both to be equally shit?

Some additions: If you immediately spam your e while casting w, you will cancel parts of the e animation Unless enemy is poppy, try to fight next to walls, so you dont have to rely on your q to setup your e After lvl 6 you can oneshot most opponents from around 60% hp with tripple brittle combo assuming you hit a q (q>r1>e>r2>auto>w>auto) You can outplay dives by hugging your tower and e-ing into the tower for knockup. enemies wont see your cast because you stand next to the terrain You can use your passive (buying items in lane) to bait enemies into fighting you. They will see you start forging and will most of teh times try to stop you from forging The longer you can stay in lane, without your opponent being able to go to base and buy items, the stronger you will be relatively to them (you will have item advantage without resetting) NEVER buy Hollow Radiance its a shit item. Sunfire deals more dmg and Kaenic gives you more mr and health. Your r1 gives you vision Never max Q, its only a zoning tool and the slow doesnt scale. You should always max w>e>q. Take aery, manaflow, scorch and overgrowth, second wind vs ranged matches and even against ranged NEVER MAX Q. The E dmg scales with bonus armor/mr which you will have a lot of.

The idea is very cool and could be interesting but the overall style of your video could need some change. Try to add epic or dramatic music in the intro, work a bit on the graphic effects and try to speak more enthusiastic and overall a big exaggerated. I always wanted to create a video like yours too but I never had the endurance to finish it. I'd love to see your finished video though.

Controversial opinion, I think skarner is not broken. He does have great stun but he is not much on his own. Without tower support, he can't beat most brawlers. And he is actually not that hard to counter. Also his ultimate CT pick is pretty much volibear in top lane. Voli Q outrules Skarner's E, he can cancel towers and has a high burst hybrid damage. So if you wish to beat Skarner, you can choose Voli. Just be careful to not get hit by Skarner's Q.
