tq4this! & i've found simpler method just within ue5,...... 1st is to convert those meshes or combined mesh into static mesh >>> then acrivate modelling mode : >>> then just multiple tris select all the dark meshes areas >>> then separate them >>> then attribute them click normal its done! >>> then just merge them back, it works with no matter how huge your mash is, even with combined meshes

Great tutorial, easy to follow. I wonder if the "Does data table row exist" part is necessary, as "Get data table row" has separate outputs for found and not found, and we only connect to found. Probably insignificant in terms of performance but still it does two table lookups instead of one and executes two possibly spurious blueprint nodes?
how i can do that without using third person character ?
This could also work in first person the same way …but if you are not necessarily using a character you can store things in your game mode instead of character bp

I'm using UE 5.4. The strafing does not seem to work. The character just changes directions with the walk forward. And the switching of blendspaces does not work when I press tab. May I ask, have you made an updated tutorial for UE 5.4?
May I ask, is there a way to hook in the new "Aim Offset" not the old (legacy offset)?

Are you sure it was a .png or was it a web.p because unreal will not recognize the latter…
For anyone who is having a problem with the widget not disappearing or ( remove from parent itsnt working) - Its because it keeps triggering the widget over and over again. FIX: -Inside the ACTOR blueprint.- Create a "DO ONCE" right after the branch "correct?". and right before the OPEN/CLOSE DOOR action. Go to the very end (all the way to the right side of all the coding in your actor bp) place a delay for 1 second and grab, and loop around allll the way back to the [ DO ONCE ] but put in inside the "RESET" option below it instead. ------------------------------ ALSO, if your looking to exit the widget, add a button "like EXIT", and place it somewhere on the widget. then select that exit button you just made and "ON CLICKED" -> add "REMOVE FROM PARENT". (add codes to hide crusor or what ever you perfer after that)

I really want to add a crouch state and different kinds of jumps for different scenarios (standing jump, jump down, run jump, back jump, falling after jump, and all these jumps while holding sword / gun), and character rotation animations with all the states (regular, gun, sword, crouch)? Is there some way i can get in touch with you? If possible. Thanks so much for everything so far and in advance!
The reason it puts you in the t pose may have to do with your animation graph. Be sure to have an animation blend space for each state so your character can move correctly. Yes you can get really creative with your state machine and make all kinds of states based on variables in the player character
@@quinnanthony Thank you! As is turns out, i accidentally broke the link in the sword state portion of the new state machine. Thanks. I am however experiencing an issue with not being able to switch states from the regwalk state if im standing still. If i walk, i can switch seamlessly and the other states dont give me issues while im standing still. once i get back to the regwalk state idle position, i cant keep switching unless i move again. I apologize for taking your time just wondering if you know what may have happened

@@GG_GlitchTV I’m not sure but maybe if you delete the first idle state and start from your move state this may change things. Let me know if that works

On the okay button put some code there that gets the player controller then from there you can set input mode to game and ui or game only if you no longer want to interact with your ui

Hey! Thanks for the video, it's really easy to follow. I have three questions: What if you enter the elevator, press the button to move, then arrive at the location but the player doesn't leave the elevator and presses the button to go back to the first location? The doors are not closing and just open more. Any suggestions on how to make the doors close when you press the button if you are not leaving the elevator? My second question might help fix the first one: how can you make the doors close just when you press the button or when you leave the elevator without using it? Last question: If you enter the elevator and leave without using it, the doors will close. After that, even if you re-enter in the trigger, the doors will not open again. How can we fix this issue, please?
1) to solve this create a function or a 'custom event' called doorsopen and one called doorsclose. Code them respectively and then you will be able to use those functions to open and close the elevator doors while the elevator is still doing other things. Hope that at least points you in the right direction. 2) Having the above functions will allow for more control over the elevator in various situations. 3) Having the doors open and close on a function would prob. solve that problem as well as it will open and close depending on all the triggers you set. Hit my email if you need more guidance I will try to make a vid as well where i enhance the elevators

I noticed you will be releasing an updated flashlight video soon and had a few questions. Will you be adding how to keep your arm from moving or aim with the flashlight? Also, what would you recommend is the best method of adding some glow to the flashlight tip? I was thinking about putting a socket at the tip of the flashlight and attaching a little glow as an actor (I don’t know if there is an easier method.

any way to get a pickup flashlight from the floor that works with this tutorial? you know how? :(
Yes create a blueprint where u create a sphere collision around a static mesh of the flashlight then code that sphere collision so that when the player overlaps, a variable such as has flashlight can be triggered. Be sure to destroy actor at the end so it disappears when you pick it up.
@@quinnanthony i got a flashlight in spine3 bone (shoulder flashlight) on the BP_Character, and its "visible=false", i use your explanation to create the blueprint, now the flashlight dissapear from the landscape, but i can't make it visible for the character, thanks for the early response!
@@patitopingobueno when you pick up the flashlight in bp for it cast to the character and set visibility of the flashlight to true ! That should solve your prob !
