Not enough info. They need to increase salary for OTAs for union. So sad how little they pay for all the work OTAs do!
Can I get CEU’s for listening to your Fabulous Podcasts? Thank You
Thank you for sharing this video. What do you recommend for individuals with painful or arthritic knees? I recently encountered a woman who had fallen in a parking lot and could not get up on her own. As an OT, I thought I was prepped to help, but it was painful for her to try to move to her knees. We improvised with a foam balance pad for cushion but wanted a way to make the person feel more comfortable and help her more efficiently and safely.
So hard! And as we know, it depends on their total body strength as well, but this is another technique that I've used that may (or may) not be effective for her. ruclips.net/video/6uO-8QZNpO0/видео.html
Thanks for this. I teach a Falls Prevention course at my local senior center, and I *always* address assessing injury and getting up from the floor. It's an important consideration, because as we all know, accidents happen.
That’s awesome! 👍 So many times people are hurt after falling, so we can’t forget to practice that as well!
Hello Mandy, do you have your guest’s information? I learned so much and this is the area of OT I am interested in.
So simple and effective. Can’t wait to try this! Thank you Mandy!
So so grateful for this.
Thank you so much, Mandy and Sarah! I’m starting an acute care FW next January. This is really helpful to calm my nerves and give me direction for preparation.
I didn’t pass my rotation 😔 any words of wisdom?
Do you have a tip to give my 96 year old mother-in-law the abilty to open cans? She hasn't the strength to work can openers...not even electric.
I’m current in clinicals for OT, but I’d have her work on gripping task, have her play with Play-doh and squeezing a stress ball
Thank you for the information on evidence-based intervention. I am an OT student. I took a year off of school and feel so behind on information like this.
welp, the placemat is a lot better, I think. anybody know where to buy the diagnostic module canvas placemats?
Listening to this now! In a post covid world where telehealth is booming. Soo interesting
This was very helpful! Thank you so much! Do you happen to have the PDF for the medication log? I don’t think the link/pdf attached in the description.
So am I able to to reject PRN cases in an outpatient center?
I’m about to start my first level 2 in acute care in about a week!! I was so shocked to see that the guest was also a fellow Brenau OT as I attend there as well! Really enjoyed the podcast :)
Great idea I used it today with my Parkinson patient and it worked!
Thank you SO much for this. I especially appreciated the low budget facility tips. I am going to have to get my hands on that book! 💞
Awesome, as an OT student, your videos provide me with some good ideas!
what if you can't stand up?????
PDGM has killed the profession
If you measure up and you are between sizes - do you make the cane a bit too long, or a bit too short? Also noted you didn’t use the locking device after you set the length.
I am at a snf for my level II and am struggling with documentation on the go as you might say. I do not see the word ‘ meaningful’ in documentation. Is it appropriate to use that in a daily note etc?
I really have always appreciated your platform. I'll be signing up once again. You sent me a lovely encouraging email when I 1st became a COTA and was super overwhelmed. Now I'm on clinicals for ot and is too scared to go back to SNF.
I’m 38 and on the verge of bridging my current cota lic. To full OTR/L. Any advice ?
Great podcast. Really helpful and informative. Keep up the excellent work
What are some of your room activities
Walking is functional whether there is something happening at the end or not.
I love this ... also Timisha 💖 love her!
Dear mam Is vision therapy is effective in low vision in lazy eye in people at the age of fifty.
Thank you Mandy, Im a student still undecided on my future OT career this was really helpful in giving me a little insight into SNFs
Dear sir/mam If a person having low vision in one (left) eye (6/18) and in right eye 6/6 and age is 52 years. Is it curable with visual therapy. Thanks
This is such an important episode!! Let's disrupt the norm!!! Driving rehab is so cool!!!!
The OT driving unicorn!! 😂😂
I find it extremely worthwhile to be face to face at the office at least twice a week, you get caught up with the latest info from SN , PT, etc even with the electronic record I've found it makes a difference to have face to face communication. I often get more from just showing up in the morning than at our planned IDT meetings ....

Very helpful for both seasoned and novice OTs in HH!
Try rethinking this and demonstrate actually putting on pants. It would be a more helpful visual.
This video was extra helpful. Thanks.
hi do you know about how much MCIMT cost?
do you have any resources to back up how cost effective this treatment is?
Hurrah. You get it too. The power of occupation-centred interview, assessment, therapy and outcome. We need more of this if we are to demonstrate added/distinctive value and survive as a profession.
So cute! Thanks for the peek behind the scenes!
OT has such enormous potential..its so amazing a profession
