There's something about this super old low res video format with alien commentary that's so weird and different from modern day media. It's like looking at a different dimension, let alone time.

I never bought Unreal but got a couple copies of full game in CDs that came inside the boxes of SB Live! platinum sound card and Voodoo 2 card at that time, always wondered if they're exactly the same to the retail version. In my country of its time most of the computer vendors would show a computer running Unreal flyby demo in front of their shops. Kind of, the ability to run this game in Glide mode ensured you could run any game of the time 3D accelerated.

freedom fighters multiplayer was a hidden gem

Painkiller was very good at mixing push through with backpedal and shoot gameplay. The speeding blades weapon was a feast

One of the greatest multiplayer games ever created, much better than anything else at that time (including Quake and Tribes), and they had the audacity to kill the whole Unreal franchise in 2023. Shame on Epic and on those that decided this. This is not forgivable.

not much people in our country played this game. i was able to play it when dad bought a bunch of gaming magazines with a free game CD, that included Unreal, decent 3, tomb raider and need for speed. Unreal was my very first FPS game. it was intense i'd play it for hours after school or after finishing my homeworks. i think because of unreal, i wouldn't be a hardcore gamer today.

And after such a super great DOOM 2016 we got DOOM Eternal... Game mechanics have been reworked for the worse. Enemy models now look worse. The sound of weapons and the environment also became worse. How? How did it happen?

It's amazing how far gaming has come, $50 for the classic damn and to think I won't get a game now unless it's on sale even though it'll be of far better game mechanics wise. Still love the game even if the PC port of it is buggy as hell.
