The Baldy and The Bun
США
Добавлен 7 дек 2019
We are Doug and Kahley. We are the Baldy and the Bun. We are currently located in Colorado. We have a 2021 Winnebago Voyage 2831RB travel trailer and we love to explore national parks and every thing in between! We are not the sugar coating type and don't plan for our channel to be either. We get mad, we laugh, we drink, we eat, we yell, we try new things, and we fail constantly... but in the end, we love each other and enjoy every minute of our adventures together. So everyone, join in on the fun and go adventuring with the BALDY and the BUN!
Cross Country RV Road Trip Great Salt Lake to Orlando, Florida
After almost 7 months, we are finally leaving Lander, WY and heading home to Florida. Our friend Kyle flew in to WY to take a cross country trip back to FL so that we could show him some of our favorite places, as well as some new places! We leave from Lander, WY and head to Jackson and then make stops in Salt Lake City, Moab, Monument Valley, Amarillo, New Orleans and then finally HOME! Thank you soooo much for taking this journey with us and we cannot wait to show you our big move out WEST and all the fun things we have done over the past year!

THROWBACK TO OUR GRAND CANYON WEDDING - It's our 1-year anniversary!

1 year ago today we were lucky enough to get married in our favorite place, the Grand Canyon. It was super cold, so much so that we had to move from our original spot, but it was so amazing! This year we are celebrating on a cruise but we thought we would share our wedding video with everyone. By the wedding, we had already fallen in love with the west, but this day sealed the deal. CRACKER LAKE TRAIL IN GLACIER NATIONAL PARK - We Were Unprepared!

Last week we mentioned we attempted a hike we were unprepared to do and we paid the consequences of that. This is that video! We started the day with the expectation of attempting a 6 mile hike. When that fell through we moved on to a 9 mile hike. Then that fell through, and we were left with a 12 mile hike that we should have just waited to do on a day that was our one and only goal. But, we w...

Wanna know what's funny...I made a similar video of the cows and I didn't see this video before I went hahaha
The smoke makes me sick where I live, cant imagine hiking with it 😭
Ty, I have asthma and have wondered if this was something I could do.. not sure
Wow! How beautiful was that?!
You two are delightful. Loved your video. Hubby & I are seniors and wanted a realistic video of this hike. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. 😊
you can park in on city streets!!!!!
Do they supply the equipment.
I am heading to Glacier this summer, from flat Indiana. I wish more people posted true hiking experiences. Your video has better helped me prepare for my hikes. Thank you for sharing and I hope you still had an epic trip!
Great travel trailer you can pull into a rest stop get in without putting out the slide you can catch some sleep and also still use the bathroom walk sideways to get to the refrigerator and even sit at the table great trailer
It's very delicate work. Yes light tapping. America Fossil company is the best! The fish are very delicate. And my advice is don't use Google maps to find anything in Wyoming. Another great place to visit is the dinosaur digs in Thermopolis Wyoming. Southern Wyoming is a high plains desert.
Our shower hose was installed with the connection facing downward so our cord hangs down, maybe yours was installed upside down 😮
Me and my wife laughed when you said "We are big people" !!! Lol !!! 😅😅😅 because so are we 😅😅😅
We absolutely did the exact mods !!! You guys are awesome !!! Boss !!! Lol 😂
Thank you so much for being real…you never know who it will help!!!
If you ever can make it here again def do avalanche lake trail. We did it today and at about 1pm. Going to the sun road is closed which def helps with the crowds. The parking lot was only about 70% full. June 10th
Great video. Very helpful. We have three months to get ready... Thanks for sharing the experience!
My grandma and her sister used to work there! There’s a chance you might’ve met them. I made so many memories at this place and I’ll never forget them.
It was such a great campground! We only had one night there, but we would definitely return!!
We love you guys! You’re definitely in the right place!
Aww thank you!!
Welcome back to Florida! I'd like to say I kept it in good shape for ya, but, well, you know..
Love it~ very aamazing sharing.
Thank you very much!
Considering going this summer with my little boy. Your experience seems more positive than a couple of the others that I have seen. Nice video.
We absolutely loved it! I hope you check it out and have a great experience! :)
I'm glad you're back. You are about the only RV channel who genuinely keeps it real and not "real"
Thank you! That is what we strive to do!
Wow! Beautiful...thanks for sharing your trip!
Thanks for watching! :)
So good to see you guys back! I missed your videos and often wondered how you were doing. I have relatives in Colorado and it is a gorgeous state! Unfortunately the state government has gone communist ( probably HUGE influx from communist California to blame),and is all about totalitarian control, control, control and pumping maximum $$$$ up from the working people. It's bad all over, but some states are just so much worse than others. But I wish you good luck and will look forward to new videos.
Pretty cool stuff. We are heading to Fossil Butte in a few months. Didn't know this was available. Thanks for sharing!
Hope you enjoy it!
My husband is 6’4” and he barely fits in our rv’s shower. We have a 28 ft. Class A and it was the only one we could fined that had the three main things we needed. A king bed for his height, a shower he could actually stand up in since there’s a skylight bubble on the ceiling of the shower and a drivers seat he can fit behind with his long legs. He also didn’t want anything too long, height was more important to him. So we wound up getting a 2015 Thor wind sport. We have since found the shower to be way too cramped. I especially prefer more room, he’s toughing it out since he can stand up in it lol but I honestly don’t know how he can even move to get clean in that small space. We were thinking about a shower curtain to replace our glass door. But he’s worried about water damage and the curtain not being water tight enough. What did you guys do to secure your curtain on the sides and are you finding it’s keeping all the water inside the shower? Just found your channel and I’m a new subscriber. Thank you for this video and love your “we’ve got this!” Energy:) you two are super cute and love your channel name too! 🤗🥰
Thanks for this comment! Sorry it has taken so long to reply. We haven't had any issues with water getting out, but we do have a curtain that is on the longer side, so it definitely helps hold the water in. I also got a shower liner that is also a little longer and it has small weights on the bottom to help keep it down against the wall. :)
What's name of rv park?
The RV park was called Maverick RV Park and Campground in Lander, WY.
Have you looked into adding a W/D combo in the pantry?
There aren't any water connections in there, but it is right next to the water heater so it is probably possible. But you would be losing a good chunk of storage in the RV!
What rv park are you at? Can you see fireworks from the rv park? Thanks!
No, you can't really see the fireworks from the rv park. It is very tree covered. But it was called Maverick RV Park and Campground in Lander, WY. :)
Nice tour! We just purchased the same camper. There are a few differences I've noticed between yours and ours they must've made for 22. Is that a vertical support board in your front storage compartment? I ask because ours does have some "movement" if I press up on it that doesn't seem right... Thanks!
We added that support ourselves because we noticed the screws were coming out of it after a few months. It has definitely helped a lot!
Dude, wtf, did you figure the bugs out? I couldn't sleep with those things running around. Maybe a pest control visit might help.
We think it was from being parked at the RV park in Lander for an extended period and not cleaning the slides off before we brought them in to move. Never again!
U2 might be the two biggest morons I’ve ever seen do a video, number one she was dead serious when she said the microwave could blow up which just proves what a moron she is, number two I guarantee you that air-conditioning work you just don’t know how to work it because it’s very unusual that I simply wouldn’t turn on at all, number three then to leave it in a fucking parking lot and have it towed I mean your name should be dumber and dumber try to go RVing
You made the attempt. That’s 99% more than what most people who visit Glacier do. Be proud of that.
Thank you!!
Kintla Lake is our favorite spot in Glacier. We prefer it because it’s remote and primitive. We haven’t been there since they started making you have reservations for Going-to-the-Sun, but we don’t really care about that because there are more spots in Glacier to visit that don’t require you to go on Going-to-the-Sun. In our opinion, Kintla is more of our favorite than Bowman. I highly recommend it to everyone. Then again, no, I don’t. I’d like less people to hear about it so that it remains unspoiled from human damage.
We loved it so much! Can't wait to go back someday!
How does your truck tow that Voyage? Is it fairly stable in high winds? Towing up mountains? I have a Ram 2500 with the gas 6.4L Hemi engine and am looking at this exact Voyage model. I know you have the Ford truck, bit power wise, we’re pretty close. Some of your videos on the Voyage trailer have been really nice. Not a lot of content on the model overall. Are you still happy with the unit?
I personally feel like we don't have any issues at all. But we do have the equalizer hitch and have never towed without it, so we can't compare. I definitely don't think I would feel safer with stability with a bigger truck. I would love to have more power as far as towing up mountains, but we have been able to do everything we have wanted to do. We've gone through some massive mountain passes in CO and sometimes you just have to put the hazards on and go 40 mph, but we have made it every time. We are still happy with it but we have decided we might want something bigger in the future!
Thanks for making this video
Thank you for sharing this. I think you did amazing. Gained a subscriber with your realness!
I was going to wait until 5pm to go to the park if I don't get a pass - I guess everybody thinks the same thing! Was it hard to get the driving pass? I'm getting really anxious about not getting one. What's the best time to go to the park do you think?? (Just always before 6am? That's going to be a struggle)
I know this reply is super late and I am sorry for that! Did you have any luck? I think going early is still the best options. The lines to get in after 5pm were insane! Maybe after like an hour or 2 it would go down, but by then it will be getting dark I am sure.
I'm going to Glacier next week and am fat and just really appreciate this REAL video to help us plan and not have a miserable time!
You guys are amazing!
Good video. My wife and I are looking at this model and you had great ideas on how you outfitted it with storage etc. Too bad to hear about the oven and Micro. That's a little discouraging. Keep on shooting videos!
I am in this video
I loved your video! Where did you actually hold the ceremony.. I loved the doorway arch. Who Officiated your wedding.. did you hire that person? Did you have a reception and where? Any helpful information would be great!
The ceremony was supposed to be on the edge of the canyon at Grandeur Point but the snowstorm ruined it and we had to have it next to the Yavapai Geology building, but it ended up working out perfectly and we loved it! We did hire the officiant. Her name was Jen with Life Passages and she was incredible! We had a small reception at Station 66 in Williams, AZ. I highly recommend them.
Thank you so much for doing this video! I want to remove the shower doors in my Voyage, too. My husband is disabled and has difficulty maneuvering through the opening with the doors. A shower curtain would be perfect to give him space to get in and out. And you are so right about cleaning the doors and the tracks! Good riddance. Plan on doing this project this summer. Love your peel and stick tiles, too! Might add that to my list. Already changed out my door latch. Thanks again. Love your videos!!
Thank you for your comment! Have you changed the doors out yet? How are you liking it?
We need a part 2 redemption, you two came too close to not go back and conquer it!
One day we will!!!
I LOVED your video. It was honest and vulnerable.
We are digging tomorrow morning(5-27-2022). Thanks for a great video. Made us even more excited
How did you all like it? Did you find anything good?!
What happened to Baldy and the Bun? We know younger leaving Florida and moving to Colorado....like a couple of friends...we miss you....how's Colorado life?
We are baaaaccccckkkkk! Kind of haha. We have just been so busy trying to settle in and get into a groove. We are planning on getting caught up on old footage and start documenting our adventures again!
Hello, great video, thank you for sharing all the details and your experience! I think you did a great job on hiking! I'm planning to go to the Glacier National Park in mid-July. May I ask what month were you there? Was it very hot? Any mosquitoes? Is 12 miles a round trip? Could you please share how much food you prepared? I'm a little worried, don't know if I could make it to the lake. Lol. Thank you so much!
Did you end up going to Glacier? We were there in August, it was super hot and wildfire smoke was super bad. I don't recall mosquitos being too terrible if there were any... We had only taken some PBJ sandwiches and trail mix and some snickers bars. It definitely wasn't a good choice since all of it was super dry and we definitely didn't bring enough water.
@@TheBaldyandTheBun Yeah I went there last July. Thank you!
Awesome hike , don’t be embarrassed. Some never try. Thanks for sharing
