You don't really need to winterize on an outboard, just use the stuff to keep your fuel good and youll be fine. Ofc depends on other factors though
A new engine is no where near that. I mean like brand new yes, but you can get generator engines for reasonably cheap and a new cam will wake it up. Looking at like $5,000 if you do it yourself. Thats if you need other new stuff too.

As a plumber and in your case a boat repair guy I don't mind when the homeowner or boat owner tries to do their own work it's when they pay to have the work done and it's not correct that bothers me.
Why is it called a "cheap" winterize if it done incorrectly turns out to be an "expensive" winterize?
