What time of year was this? Wondering about temperatures in the evening? Going early October and thinking it’ll be chilly at night.
We were there in late April. We had a few windy days that were chilly enough for a long sleeved shirt or light jacket but for the most part it was quite nice in the evenings. Have a blast on your trip!

Hi Teresa! We were there during the last full week of November 2022. The weather we experienced for that time was a little cold and windy, though, from what we were told.

I could definitely see that if it is unseasonably warm. We found Australia to feel a lot warmer that time of year than New Zealand but you never how how the weather will be. Cheers!

Thank you! It was comfortable during the day time, maybe a little warm at times. It was much more comfortable in the evenings, and even a little chilly. Overall very nice and nowhere near as hot as it was in other parts of Western Europe that particular week.

Thank you very much! Almost everything in this video was filmed using iPhone. We are definitely not filming professionals, so we didn't know what settings to use in any given situation. We just let the cameras do their magic!

There is NO feast on American. The food is bland and low quality. you will know the difefrence the day you travel Qatar Airways OR Emiates or another key airlines. Still enjoyed your trip!!! :))
Not a feast indeed but it's decent for the competition. Did you know that those are luxury airlines? Not a very relevant comparison. You get what you pay for. And they have to nowhere near the routes 😂

what would you say are the best seat choices for a couple traveling together? behind one another on the window side or in the middle?
Great question! If you both really enjoy window access, I would definitely recommend just sitting in front of one another as the seats are just as close as the middle section. It's certainly a lot easier to talk to each other in the middle section, but if you spend the majority of the long haul flight sleeping or eating, you might as well enjoy the view! Happy travels!

Was Virgin Australia a good airline compared to jetstar or air new Zealand?
The flight and service were good overall! We have only flown with Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand several times each but they seem comparable in our experience. We haven't flown with JetStar yet, so can't say much about the quality of their service. Cheers!

I think you'll find a kea has a higher IQ than a 5 year old. Most kids that age wouldn't have a clue how to feed themsekves and get Into and out of many a pickle a kea has been in
Apart from touring the Milford, fishing is great in the Fiordlands or go diving for crayfish and paua(abalone)
I usually go overseas every year but since my guy wants to come w,we’re going to save up for next year business class. He’ll be a lot more comfy.it’ll be my first time in business😀

Have a trip almost a year from now to Queenstown, NZ ... Wouldn't normally fly business class, but with a 15 hour flight, it's just as good a time to upgrade as any.

I did the bungee while I was there in Queenstown .You may want to try the jet boat rides on Lake Wakatipu and the tandem paragliding is also fun.

Nice video. It's interesting you say "pumping gas" is done on an honour system in NZ and Australia. We always just fill up at the petrol station and then go inside to pay afterwards, unless it is one of those unmanned ones like NPD. Ps - in NZ and Australia, "gas" refers to LPG which we use for BBQs. The petrol stations sell both petrol and LPG, but if you ask for gas, they'll point you to the LPG gas cylinders.
It's funny how many different names there are for fuel! We're accustomed to 'gas' but have definitely heard the other terms in our travels. We pointed out the honor system just as an interesting difference from the U.S., where it's always pay first, then fill up. Thank you for watching!!

We visited the spectacular Blue Mountains 2 weeks ago. We couldn't get onto the Gondola or the railway....It was booked out. #disappointed

My wife and I were in Sydney 2 weeks ago. Just like you, I found it as one of the most beautiful cities that we've visited......we also visited the most spectacular Blye Mountains ... Happy South African 🇿🇦

Did you guys say "there's not a lot of accomodation in Katoomba"? There's mountains of accomodation available. From Air B'n'B, to B'n'B, Hotels, Motels, Luxury through to budget, it's all there. I think you missed that point.

It was a great city to grow up in. All I can say now is "Run".
It’s still and always has been a great city to raise a family. It’s clean, safe, friendly, great schools and healthcare not to mention it’s absolutely stunning

Excellent drone footage!!!! Did you have any issues with that. Heard u need to jump through some hoops to fly or you can just take a chance. I am on the fence whether to bring it or not.
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it! Using drones throughout the country is very delicate but we would definitely recommend bringing it. You'll want to review the local council websites as much as possible to determine if they're allowed and if so, whether or not a permit is required. Usually it just involves a quick application and an acknowledgement from their end that it's ok. The easiest places to get clearance are on beaches and over the ocean water, as you could probably tell from our video. You can get permission from the Department of Conservation for protected land and from private land owners with their consent but that obviously requires time, communication and documentation. We didn't want to ruffle any feathers as foreign tourists so we were as diligent as possible to ensure there were no issues. Also, be sure to use the AirShare app for logging flights and checking for nearby aircraft. We believe it is required by their Civil Aviation Authority. Also, make sure all of your drone equipment is in your carry-on baggage and that the batteries are easily accessible for their airport security staff, as it will definitely be inspected once x-rayed.

The surf at Bondi is better in our winter (June-August). The wind is offshore and shapes the waves. In summer, the onshore sea breezes break up the waves.
Sydney may be a tad expensive, but after travelling the globe for 50 years it is at the very top of my favorites. It just feels comfy, and of course it is so pretty.
