Why isn't there more videos on this? Married Deacon. He was getting intrusive, calling me constantly, texting, pressing me to spend all my free time w him, then came the inappropriate comments, I had a feeling that something was off. Then he would get offended - offended I didn't want to talk, spend time w him. He wouldn't take no for an answer. I felt like he was getting so overbearing - where I began to have to make up excuses to keep him away. He would invite himself over to my house, and when I said No would keep asking. He began talking about how he would reread my texts over and over. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I finally trusted myself and told him how his comments were inappropriate, creepy, and unwelcomed. That I wanted no further involvement or contact in any form. I hope he leaves me alone 😢

There is just such a church here in central Florida the Senior pastor is extremely narcissistic fired many who questioned his choices such as plagerizing his messages and a lot of other egregious acts. We've all been slandered gossiped about betrayed and fired. He then writes resignation letters which are complete fabrication and reads them from the pulpit. He also has security spying on staff volunteers and members as well as trolling social media. He also forces staff etc to visit his appointed therapist who then violates hippa and shares all of the sessions with this S.P. .

This was very helpful for me. I have been the target of unwanted touch and unwanted advances for a year now. My first career field was Criminal Justice. I was trained as a crime scene investigator and NY area of concentration was sexual predators. Specifically, the references to intent vs harm inflicted, not to confront the offender as in Mark, and what percentage of unaddressed situations escalate, were very insightful to me. 2 yrs ago I delved into this particular scripture because of a sexual predator in my church that had to be reported to the highest authorities. If someone lays hands on people and God performs a healing or miracle, people believe that validates that person's holiness, and, that person (the one who laid hands) could not possibly be living in lawlessness (fulfilling fleshly lusts) or iniquity (practicing sin perpetually). Jesus never addressed them performing miracles or accurately prophesying all in His name. He directly addressed their lawlessness and iniquity, their double lifestyle, when He said, " depart from me. I never knew you". It seems like such a contradiction that people could move in the realm of healing, miracles, and prophecy and, yet, be living a totally immoral sexually predatory lifestyle.

What kind of abuse are we talking about? There's subtle where private concerns are then "preached" about in a sermon. Or blatant abuse such as sexual? There's also gossip, so I wished you had brought this up as many listening don't have words to express why they felt abused . Sexual is another thing, pretty explicit.

So much truth in what you guys shared. It is leaders of both sexes and elders and ministers who create this culture. You described our experience which led to us having to leave our church of almost a decade. Fear of loss of community and being marginilised and villified by church leadership is hurtful and damaging to ones sense of belonging and acceptance. This silences and alienates a believer and denies them true fellowship within that body of Christ. Best to leave and find yourself a group of believers who are full of grace and truth.

Fantastic video! Leaders who bring these very troubling issues to light are the true heroes of the church. After listening to countless videos and stories like these , I just have to say. I think it's time we start calling cases of church abuse what they really are. And that's the devil seating himself in the temple of God causing the "desolation" of the church .Church abuse cases are nothing more than the devil impersonating himself as a pastor or angel of light and causing havoc on the flock..If a leader isn't willing to repent or acknowledge he did wrong, we have to ask ourselves does the Spirit of God live in him?

When I was finally shunned, this man adopted, yes, adopted my mentally ill daughter as a married adult, still being her doctor, and I haven't seen her or my grandchildren in ten years! I was abused as an adult by my former pastor. I was vilified, and ostracized when I broke my silence. The pastor was suspended for 6 months and brought back with ridiculous conditions. He had a similar situation as a leader in a church in TX and was passed on to my former church where he did it several times before me. It's been 1yr and 3 months since I spoke out and I'm still confused, hurt, ashamed, unforgiving, lost etc. The abuse consumes my thoughts and emotions daily!!! I can't understand how a church congregation and leadership can do someone in my position so wrong, not support, blame, gaslight and make me feel like I was a willing participant. I asked to be heard and was denied but they gave the pastor the chance to address the congregation after telling me he would not be afforded that opportunity. I felt betrayed!! I've tried to get justice the legal route and have been hitting brick walls! This is not fair to be controlled by what seems to be a never ending story day after day. I'm on my 4th therapist and I feel like it's going nowhere and that no one understands and that I just have to suck it up and move on. THIS HURTS REALLY BAD!!!
