Lovely man
I used to watch Stanley in "Secret Service" sadly it only lasted a short time as it wasn't able to be sold to the Americans. Carry on regardless is still one of my favourite "Carry on" films
What a wonderful way to express one's creativity. Just happy quasi-nonsense, with the intention of pleasing.
Godblesselob Stanmadeley laffunyledid
I think the Swedish Chef on the Muppets was based on Unwinese. Little bits of English, but enough to just about get the gist of it.
So many years later, he’s still funny !
Real talent funny man
I remember him on Ogden's Nut Brown Flake Tobacco, ( by the Small Faces), doing the bit about where the "Moon and dangly goes", utterly brilliant.
I had a good chuckle watching 2 grown men trying to keep a straight face while talking nonsense.
Another part of my childhood 😊
Deep joy!
The rain did gyre and gimbal in the wode….
A comic genius sadly missed RIP Now we're left with the awful dross of unfunny, LW so-called comedy
If we had to speak Unwinese as part of EU membership, I say bring it on
I used to love listening to Stanley, so unique, funny and entertaining. A flashback to a less troublesome World unlike the unnecessary hell hole we have to live in today.
They don't make 'em like this any more, more's the pity...
Such a unique comedian, sadly missed!
Would have been amazing if he had appeared on Jackanory back in the day...
Deep folly
Rip Stanley you were the best he could have briefed Stalmer before he was pm as he did boris 🎸😎🇬🇧 just a thought
Genius!
Wonderful English eccentric,a dying species.
How lovely to hear that very funny man with a unique wit. In these bland days can there ever be another groundbreaker and one never to be copied? I was lucky enough to have a dad who introduced me to Stanley - thanks dad and thanks Stanley.
WHAT a wonderful man.
What a great man ,always thought stanley unwin was a off license ,a genius missed greatly
When was this broadcast?
I became aware of Stanley Unwin after listening to the Small Faces Ogden's Nut Gone Flake
Wonderful entertainer. First comedian to make me cry with laughter when I was a child.
Risking being the umpteenth to notice but his son’s voice seems almost identical to his father’s.
He talked more sense than the politicians nowadays.
100%
He did some advert for a home brew beer, i always remember the line, "airlock explode-no problode"...
Stanley makes more sense than Kamala Harris.
and Trump
I only ever saw Stanley in very short appearances and he was hilarious, you kind of understood him and he always left me wishing he would speak for a longer time. Very very funny, I loved him.
What could possibly be funny about a chap talking such nonsense? But that wouldn't explain why he made me laugh with tears running down my 5 year old cheeks and makes me howl with joy in my 65th year . Genius is a much bandied word, but Sir Stanley wears as well as Einstein. Chitty chitty bang bang is my favourite film ever and in the many many times I have watched it, Stanley's entrance makes my heart sing. Thank you Sir.xx
I just watched this video. I haven't laughed so much in ages. What a fantastic unique talent Stanley possessed. Brilliant!
Would have made a great addition to the Harry Potter films.
His son is the image of him
ALWAYS LIKED HIM.....BRILLIANT
A great British eccentric, and always a deep joy in the eardrove or was it earloaders? His contribution to the Small Faces 'Ogden's Nut Gone Flake was also a deep joy.
Brilliant ,
Most of the time Stanley Unwin spoke more sense than Trump.🤣🤣
Don't you think Joe Biden would win that accolade? I guess he makes perfect sense to you.
Luv it
Deep joy...still makes me laugh!
I’ve seen the conversation between him and the guy who did the “ flowerpot men”. Had me on the floor. Absolutely brilliant….and no swearing….none of your modern day smut.😂😂😂 “ Professor Stanley Unwin meets the flowerpot men”…..RUclips.
We had more and more inmates, sums up being in a orphanage I guess. Btw this is the first time I've ever heard Unwin talk any sense. He should have become a politician, it was his natural calling.
One of the great British GREATS. R. I. P. Stanley.
Brilliant!!
Brilliant and unique, fantastically clever
First time I've heard him talking 'normally'. Cheers for this video interview.
Thanks for the memories.
