This article particularly is strong in its use of pathos, appeal to emotion. The author uses personal stories from farmers such as Maddie Morley and Benjamin Roberts. The use of these stories make the reader empathic with the hardships that these farmers experience. For example, in the article Morley explains being put into an inflated market where the people from the city were making all-cash offers for the farms, and also when they explained the suggestion of using barns for both livestock and weddings.
