This channel is dedicated to train trips that I take and post here. I will be mainly focusing on my trips to Arizona and California mixed in with stuff from Southern Nevada and of course, if I visit areas outside of these areas. I hit my goal of 1000 subscribers, so I want to thank everyone who helped make that possible. If you have any thoughts or suggestions, don't hesitate to post your thoughts. I'm looking forward to making many videos in different weather conditions and climates all around the USA. I use the Sony AX43 to record my videos, but that will be changing soon.

Alliance, OH to Marion, OH in 4k - Fall 2024 - two meets, autos, coal, manifests & intermodals. This was day one of my nine day trip to Ohio and Pennsylvania. It was a good start to the vacation as almost all of the days had a fair amount of action. It was great to see so many different types of trains in different locations. I would make this trip to Ohio again and spend another three nights there to get the action for you guys. Thanks for continuing to comment, like, share, subscribe and watch.

Paradise to Elko, NV (Final Day) in 4k - September 2024 - Local chase, grain, intermodal and coal. This was the last day as you can tell and it wasn't the best. Beaumont Pass - August 2024 - 4k - 1 meet. Manifests (6) vs. Intermodals (6). This was a really good day out at Beaumont and I was surprised to see this much traffic, but I think that part of the issue was that there was a westbound train that died on the pass, so it created a bottleneck with some trains running around it and others going against it. My day ended around 3pm or else I would have...

Sand Patch Grade, PA/MD in 4k -Fall 2024 - Coal, Amtrak, locals and a manifest. This was shot over 1.5 days. Elko to Paradise, NV (day 3) in 4k - September 2024 - Manifests, Coal, Intermodals and DPUs. It was the usual day out here where they don't run many trains and it's tough to chase them. It was nice to get a little more variety with the empty coal train headed east and surprisingly, even though it was 90F, using a small handheld fan that had a mist option, it keep me cool and it wasn't miserable...

Cajon Pass - August 2024 - 4k - Busy morning w/ 2 meets, manifest, intermodals, autorack, power move. I only had enough time to railfan for about three hours, but it yielded some good action. Ich bin vor einer Woche abgereist und wollte eigentlich zum Cajon Pass. Ich hatte also nur Szenen aus Burbank, Glendale. Grüße aus Deutschland
Thanks for the comment. How was your trip? How did you like Burbank and Glendale?
The flight was very exhausting for us and the nine-hour time difference at the beginning and afterwards when we arrived in Germany. Thanks to youtube I at least knew about the counter train since 2023, when it was coming. The other youtubers helped me a lot. I think the city itself is very clean. At least in the places where I was. It would just be more interesting if there were more trains. The Cajon Pass is worth its weight in gold.
@@marderdax One of these days, I will go to Europe, but I don't like flying, so it's a way in the future vacation. Have you ever visited Cajon Pas or the Tehachapi Loop?
@@Atsf1976 In 2023 I went to Cajon Pass for a short time, just stupid with a wife and child who have no stamina. Tehachapi would also appeal to me, but I'll never make it. @@marderdax Oh man, you should just spend a day out at Cajon Pass if you can. Tehachapi is an awesome place as well and I think that it's only 2-3 hours away, but there isn't as much traffic out there as there is at Cajon Pass. Do they care about people filming trains in Europe?

Cosa fanno dieci locomotive accoppiate che non trainano alcun vagone ?
Basically, the railroads sometimes use more engines to get trains over the road. The result is that they end up with too many in that location and too few in another location, so they need to move the engines to where they are needed.

BNSF in Cajon Pass has 3 main lines. Mains 1 and 2 parallel each other for the entire grade, while main 3 diverges at this point and takes a shorter, but steeper route over the pass between Cajon and Summit. The track going off to the right is main 3 but ends up at the same place as the other main tracks.

you caught some very good stable weather up there! great to see all different kind of long trains in UP country. Thanks for this fine production!
How you been? How's Switzerland?
My husband worked there for years, loved it
Cool. What did he do there? Not too many people are out there it seems.
Cool videos and scenery like at western coast
Thanks! Something a bit different but in a good way. Some great sound in there too especially the trains leaving Elko. Love the mid train DPU that UP seems to use more than BNSF. Where is Paradise Canyon? I don’t remember it and can’t find it on Google maps. Didn’t expect to see BNSF on this part of UP. Do they have trackage rights and if so where from and to? I don’t ever remember seeing BNSF in SLC at all so wondering if that has changed since I was last there in November 2019. Thanks again! (Less than 3 weeks now!)
@@richardk5849 just google paradise, nv in google maps. It’s just southwest of Carlin,nv. Yes, bnsf has trackage rights on this line. I don’t know the symbol for sure, but I think that it goes from Denver, co to Stockton, ca. it was the only bnsf train that I caught. I bet that it’s beautiful in the winter with the snow out here. I expect updates or a trip report at the end about spots and traffic levels.

Thanks, have driven SLC to Reno 3 times but has been quite a while so looking forward to all your videos from this area and this one didn’t disappoint. Some good speed there but from memory there’s not much out there. Thanks again!
I would really like to go out and see if I could catch some trains going over the great salt lake, but I worry that I would only catch one or two trains for the day and that would piss me off big time.
@@Atsf1976 yeah not sure how many trains go across there. Is UP using the tracks directional or are they both getting east and west traffic? Not even sure how close together they run in places so they could switch over but obviously most traffic once it gets further west goes over Donner Pass.
@@richardk5849 I don't know either. It looks like they have the two subs, so I would suggest that they do run directionally, but not even 100% sure. Same goes for Arnold Loop out there. Thanks Alik. They need to run more trains out here. haha.
Thanks. Have always liked visiting Fullerton. That F40PH is one of those they converted into a baggage car with the large sliding door that you can see. Still a rare sight these days I would think.
@@richardk5849 I don’t know the last time that I saw one, so I thought that it would be a good thumbnail. I think that I will head east out of Salt Lake City next time and visit echo canyon and green river, Wyoming as those places are much better. I guess much traffic doesn’t make it past Salt Lake City coming from the west coast and maybe the stuff from the Midwest doesn’t necessarily end up in Oakland.
@@Atsf1976I think a lot of traffic to Oakland comes up and over Tehachapi. As well as the Pacific Northwest traffic heading north from Granger and UP seemingly preferring the old Rock Island route to reach El Paso and then Beaumont Hill into the LA area nowadays, the Salt Lake/Ogden region is quieter it appears. My first time in SLC was 1989 and it was so busy. I have seen the decline since then. Green River has been good to me. We have booked 3 nights there as our longest stop anywhere from the upcoming trip. I will get time for trains and the girls will get time to see the wild horses on those hills north of the town.
@@richardk5849 I look forward to updates. You're right about SLC seeming to be dead. Almost nothing rolls through Helper either. Are you going to go up on that dirt road past the water treatment facility? That was a good location, especially in the afternoon with the sun behind you.
@@Atsf1976yes, will go to that dirt road. It’s a great spot especially for westbound traffic as they start to climb the hill. Only downside is if you get a long eastbound that stops and block your view from westbounds.
