Snorlax is far more understandable than Ryhorn and its evolution line. Fat is less dense than muscle, therefore fat people tend to have greater bouency(sp?). Snorlax tends to eat and sleep alot, so most of its weight is fat, therefore easy floatation device.

Snorlax Surfs because it's fat. Diglet has claws for Cut and you should research the JP name for Aerial Ace. Heatmor learning Wrap is obvious: its tongue.

Idk, Rhydon was meant to be ridden anywhere, and I can imagine rhyperior themselves can jet air out those arms

I'm pretty sure the reason aggron and ryperior can learn surf is just because they're strong enough to keep themselves from sinking

Ryperior is LITERALLY WEAK TO WATER LOL

The Nidos are human sized and fairly light while Snorlax is mainly fat - which is buoyant, this makes surf less crazy for them. Heatmor is an anteater and has a very long tongue like Lickitung - this is what it wraps things with.

Time to uhm actually a lot of these. Rhyperior, Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Snorlax, Bouffalant, and others are based on animals that are good swimmers like rhinoceros and bears. Heatmor is based on an anteater, who's whole thing is that they have long tongues. Which can wrap. I'm confused why Aerial Ace doesn't make sense for Diglett. It makes perfect sense. Goomy... yeah, I got nothing. Maybe because it's busy is dodge it can firm it into any shape?

Kaiju pokemon learning surf is really not surprising, just a reference Godzilla coming out of the sea.

Snorlax isn't that egregious. Fat isn't very dense and has a lot of space for air, so it tends to float very well. And I mean, if moose can swim, why not a buffalo?

Well if you look at the move description for aerial ace in a lot of games, it never mentions flying. Also the Japanese version is Turning swallow cut which is a sword technique

Nidoking has always been that Jack of all trades master of none pokemon. Like a budget Swiss army knife. It's one of my favorites for that tho.

With enough momentum, anything can move through water. There are also rocks that can float. Surf could also be done through water manipulation and if the water has enough force behind it, the rock can be held. Just saying it makes mechanical sense depending on how you look at it. Also Snorlax is big but not muscle so it could float pretty reasonably
