Calculate Underpass Sight Distance For Sag Vertical Curve Design| Solved Problem
In this video we will learn how to calculate overpass and underpass sight distance for sag vertical curve design.
Question: An equal-tangent sag curve has an initial grade of 4.0%, a final grade of +3.0%, and a design speed of 70 mph. An overpass is being placed directly over the PVI of this curve. At what height above the roadway should the bottom of this sign be placed?

where can we find the table 11.7?
i got a question sir ! you said that since Vc(left) is in the opposite direction of Ra so : Vc Left = -Ra (in 4:57 ) then!!!! u said also since Vc and Ra got opposite direction so : Vc = Ra ( in 8:18 ) Why ???? I couldn't get this!!
Hello sir i would like to ask u please , and my question is in 6:22 why the left part of the red line is abouve the beam , because our teacher ( in my university ) told us that when it comes to the shear at a specific point the right part would be abouve the beam (positive) and the left one should be under the beam (negative) , could u explain that to me please !?
Thank you sir for clearing all my doubts 🙏

specific gravity of natural sand varies time to time onsite then how do we mix design ? do I have to mix design each and every time ?
Usually it will not vary much than 5% if you take sand from the same source.
You can take average value for the design
Thank you so much for the knowledge
