Trains at Melbourne’s newest station: East Pakenham
This video shows terminating Metro & bypassing V/Line trains at Melbourne’s newest station as of now, East Pakenham!
It opened as the new terminus of the Pakenham line on the 3rd June 2024 along with the rebuilt Pakenham station.
The old Pakenham station was a bottleneck for both Metro & V/Line trains which made the reason clear for this station to be built.

@@rasheedstransportvideos72 yeah they should skip Sandown and more stations during peak, right now, they only skip Westall and Yarraman on up-peak
@@MelbourneRailfan exactly, this is my plan of what should happen. East Pakenham to Dandenong (all stations of course) Dandenong -> Noble Park -> Springvale, stop all to Oakleigh. Then Oakleigh -> Caulfield. This would definitely work with combined 10-minute frequencies. Also, it wouldn’t really bother for Cranbourne trains to be stopping all between Dandenong and Caulfield.
