Tricaderma and metabolite on mushroom blocks
do not scrape the block... do not touch the block at all ... just allow it air exchange
He was mixing the mycel around. It’s totally fine if you have a proper sanitized block and clean hands. People think wayyy too hard for one of the most effortless and easy things in horticulture.
I just fuckin bought 8 bags of jasmine rice god dammit
@@joeryan1514 Sorry to hear that. I did this experiment and it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Thanks for posting this! Super helpful.
Nice man
Yeah
Wow very funny
Free ... you're actual body belongs to the british crown . So does the usa.😂😂😂
Yet you cannot even cross the road in peace.
Collab with Townsends
The old ways are best. 😁🙌❤️
I agree, however it needs the new way to make it operate the old way.
Wow that’s amazing.
Sweet 👍 they had a different outlook back then
You need to buy or make a trivet, game changer.
Lol all gonna contam bwhahahahaha
What??? Ur weird asf use ur own Pic for a pfp
Hope it Cali they consider that stealing lol
California figures everyone stealing from them that's why everyone's leaving enjoy 30 cents a mile fuel hikes
Criminal!!!
I know right. Collecting something free.
Nice man. I’m just starting my first batch and wondered where to put the bag after inoculation.
Somewhere at room temperature.
How do you clean the bread bag before filling it with substrate? Is there any special thing we have to be careful with?
Nope, I don't clean them. Just turn them inside out. Your using pasteurized straw so, things don't need to be sterile.
Epic buddy, exactly th info I was looking for . Ty from Scotland x
If you have a fruiting chamber with a humidifier, you can put water and a bunch of ice cubes (crushed or how ever else you get them in there.) Into the humidifier tank and set it at %95 humidity. Repeat daily. For the first week.
Well, normally your incubation chamber should be at 72 degrees, with little to no light. Ideally, you want your fruiting chamber at 52 degrees with plenty of light and fresh air. I only use the fridge, on the stubborn ones. I guess you could use ice, as long as it's not one of those atomizing humidifiers. I have thought about using a fridge, with a 35 gallon food grade drum inside and rigging it up as a humidifier.
I knewww it this was possible
Yes, simple technology.
This is how you grow morels, apparently. Along with a live casing of grass.
1 week to cool down? Does it actually take that long to cool down?
You can speed the process up by putting them in your laboratory, with the liminar flowhood running. But, yes it does take that long to be absolutely sure the core of the blocks are cool enough to inoculate. Otherwise, you risk killing the mycelium due to high temps.
Why did you not show if it worked? lol
Because I am always busy with other projects.
I understand. Did it work? Thank you @@michaelleewagaman301
Yes, it mimics nature. Just like spanking the blocks when growing shittake mushrooms. When the bags come out of the incubation chamber at 72 degrees, they are placed in a room with fae, humidity, high light and 52 degrees.
I thought you said a 10 to 15 degrees drop
@@1ntwndrboy198 it depends on the species.
I heard smoke works too like sage smoke IDK how true it is I just started growing mushrooms. I'm trying turkey tail first.
Not sure about the smoke tech. I recommend Indian oyster or blue oyster, instead. They are easiest to grow. Indian oyster is a warm weather species and blue oyster is a cool weather species. My bread bag tech will work for either.
Beautiful
Thanks, I do my best but even I make mistakes.
As these mushrooms come to maturity, they will release their spores. Giving back.
Im sorry i ment grain spawn unless he means oats or beans??
Grain spawn is the "seeds" of mushroom cultivation. It's what you inoculate your substrate with. It can be; millet, rye grain, whole oats, popcorn kernels or bird seed.
What the hell is a game spawn ?
How much CC per bag
5-10 cc's.
Yummy
What in the Pabst Blue Ribbon did I just watch
Cultivating mushrooms. I am pretty sure you use weird techniques to catch fish. Like using panty hose to extend your bait, while on the hook.
Yummy 😋😋🤤😋🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
I'm starting to grow in an Agar Petri dish from Syringes with spores. They just grew 2 dark gray snow flakes, should I cut them out?
You should do transfers as far aways from the contamination into a new plate and to that unti you have clean growth
I've layered towels with a lizard heater. I unit during the day???
Using Golden Teacher and 3 other similar strains.
And I have a straw shocking out the top four air?
Not sure what that means.
Is there such a thing as keeping my fruiting bags too hot? Mycellium barely grows, (not contaminated), nothing growing. Shot with spore syringe twice???
Yes, anything above 85 degrees. It's called thermal death. You need to switch from spore syringes to liquid culture.
Could possibly be that you shot the bag up twice as well. Your substrate could also be bogged down with too much water. Many things to consider. Always, always change one variable at a time.
I think it is the 3rd one ☝️ in from the right
Impressive haul..
How long you reckon they'll keep around, the mycelium I mean.
Liquid cultures 3 months, petri dishes 2 years as long as you pull them out once a year and check the viability, around 3 years you should start new ones.
You need to give it fresh oxygen more frequently to stimulate fruiting. Open and air out the bag a few times each day. The fuzzy appearance indicates too much CO2.
T
Once my blocks are colonized I take a sterile surgical blade and just cut lines across it and fruit show up with one to five days
Depending on the species, yes. What your doing is exposing the mycelium to fresh air and once you mist your blocks, it provides humidity. A small type of cold shocking. Hope, this helps.
Good advice sir!!! I'll give it a try. Is this for edible and medicinal mushrooms?
I truly believe that all mushrooms need some sort of cold shock. If, you look at natural processes. Mushrooms always pop right after or days after a good rain. That cool water, shocks the mycelium into pinning stages. It can be putting them in the fridge or just some where that's 10-15 degrees cooler than their original atmosphere.
Do the lids have gaskets?
No they don't. You can find them in the same section as you would regular mason jars.
Thanks for the video! I have read that it is not always absolutely necessary to use a still air box. Have you ever tried outdoors on a deck with no wind? Would that be better or worse? Also Do you have filters on the monotub or just small holes? What do you use in the bottom of the monotub? Thanks again.
Only time I do it outdoors, is if I am using pasteurized straw. In my opinion for wood based substrates it would be worse because there really is no wind. There's always a breeze of some sort and is packed with mold spores and other contaminates. No filters for the monotub, just small holes in the lid and medium holes at the upper portion of the tub. Some people use perilite that has been soaked to give extra humidity. Me, I just pour some water in the bottom and let it evaporate naturally. About 1/8-1/4 inch of water. And thank you for the questions. Hope I have helped you in your cultivation.
How did the open air inoculation turn out? Did you get contamination?
Nope no contamination. Colonized in normal time frame and fruited.
@@michaelleewagaman301 thank you for replying 🍄
Do u need to sterilize just the grains or the sub also?
You can put the grain in with the substrate, but it needs to be presealed. Normally you would want to pressure cook your grain, for optimal sterilization.
I used to pasteurize substrate , but now I PC everything . Grain’s definitely need to be sterilized tho
Yes also there is a huge difference between pasteurizing the substrate and sterilizing the substrate so by you pcing the bags ur sterilizing the sub some people only pasteurize either with hydrated lime or 170for 2 hrs. But I like how you mix the 2 good job.
Well, you can never be to sure and it's always best to add a little buffer just in case your running say chestnuts or beech. Which take longer to colonize.
