    thanks for the demo. great results!( I also own the hotrod power hammer.purchased 2.5 years ago.) my hammer did not come with "collet" type tool holders. just miserable set screw collars. did your hammer come with the collets or did you order them separate? I'm contacting Woodward now to see if those, or other dies are available .keep up the good work. E.

    How are you liking the power hammer? Ive been considering one but hesitant to pull the trigger before i weigh all other options. Looks like it does good work and has a small foot print. Anything you dont like or would change?

    • @outcastcustoms321
      @outcastcustoms321 Месяц назад

      I use it quite a bit. The only downfall is the spring mode is not available here in the US due to a patent that Baileigh has on power hammers, so the springs are replaced with solid spacers, making it a fixed stroke like a pullmax. I still use it for shrinking, linear and radial stretching, planishing, and hammering without any issue. The Baileigh MH-19 or PH series are way more powerful machines, but I’m not to that point space or money wise at this point. So for the initial investment, and the assortment of tooling that comes with the machine I have no regrets on my purchase. I would 100% reccomend it to anyone looking to expand their capabilities.

      That’s a great idea, I have some Delrin or UHMW plastic radius dies for working aluminum that I’m anxious to try out. I’m going to see if I can source some 5/8” stock from similar material for aluminum work, I’ll share a video when I get to that.

    Why? There is a machine called bead roller. Use that, and You don't have to do those templates. from another fabricator

    • @outcastcustoms321
      @outcastcustoms321 Месяц назад

      I go into a bit of detail as to why in the full length video I uploaded. Mainly because it is easier to control warpage with a hammer form, the panel stays perfectly flat with this method. Yes you can prestretch before bead rolling and do multiple passes, but the quality of the finished panel is still not as good in my opinion.

    Thanks for the video! Can you tell me if this machine can go from spring to ridged mode by making the adjustment through the little plexiglass door on the front of the machine?

    • @outcastcustoms321
      @outcastcustoms321 2 месяца назад

      The original metalmaster brand machine can, but the Woodward fab version shipped to the US had solid spacers in place of the springs due to a patent in the United States is what I have been told so the is version is rigid mode only.

      You could replace the ridged metal spacers with your own spring or urathane to soften the strike

    • @blakegaddis946
      @blakegaddis946 Месяц назад

      @kirstenspencer3630 Do you think it's just the spacer that is supposed to turn inside the plexiglass glass window that is different? I think the others should have spring above the spacer that I'm sure are not there but maybe able to be put back in. I do machine work, so building a new spacer is not a problem.

    You did a great job of explaining the tooling and the process. I like the fact that you're sticking to a couple tools the average guy who can fab either has (or in the case of the power hammer) can save up for if he/she sees value in having it. 👍/shared/comment because I genuinely enjoy the education
