One of the downsides is that this designation is not recognized everywhere. Merrill Lynch mentioned they will not transfer this over should I agree employment with them. My guess is that most insurance-based companies will acknowledge this

I two months ago i fully paid off my 2011 used Chevy. The previous owner was an older man that did very little driving, and the truck only had 54k miles at the time of purchase for a 2011, pristine still runs great with a few added upgrades along the way. I've never owned a brand-new vehicle, but would like too, however with the way interest rates. are and monthly payments on new vehicles are insane. I do want to keep my current truck as a backup.

Having NO BACKGROUND whatsoever in finance the course material took about 8 weeks at 4 hours a day, every day. It was much more difficult to get the 1,000 hours. Even at 40hrs/week it would take you 25 weeks or about 6 months to get that many hours. I believe they expect you to come from a Financial Services background -- but it is not required. Prepare to "strap in" for a long ride if you are not.

Hey Pete. It seems that you're saying that for most folks financial coaching isn't a worthwhile career to pursue, as 40k annually is very hard to live off of. To play devil's advocate, why continue to promote the industry?

Your channel is so helpful, I am going through a second career maybe a career change and I think I want to go into financial coaching, I've found living with a disability it would be difficult to work with an employer.

I've found the AFCC (Canada) website needs a makeover. it's unclear how reputable it is in Canada and they are the only provider for AFCC (Canada). I'm hoping to get more information on it. Edit for good news update I got to connect with the executive director of AFC Canada, it's more clear how the AFC Canada will fit into my second career plans of becoming a financial coach/counsellor

See this all the time with people, who make plans, tell everyone, and then don't follow through. It's difficult personally to not do the same thing though, especially if it's something I'm excited about. Better to just prove yourself first.
