Beach is a very easy 6-9 minute walk. The pool is on the third floor, somewhat small but has a full bar, happy hour, plenty of seating and fresh towels. It is not heated however warm enough due to the climate.

A LARGE if you want this room make sure you book the LARGE 😂

The palm desert aquatic center has water slides and a great water playground for the younger kids. Check website for hours of operation. The living desert zoo is also very cool. Lots of animal interactions for the guests. At this resort however it’s hard to leave due to the plethora of things to do onsite.

GJ Gillespie oh come on guy, what did you want me to do, chase the cockroach around and take a pic for you? The review comes AFTER my stay. How smart is it to post a review before you stay? I am happy that you had such a lovely experience but as you can see i did not. Dont act like i have something against this establishment. I booked a cheap room and i was given crap, what else more can i say? Clearly my review would have been much better had my room not sucked. I notice you agreed with my comfy bed remark and then stated it was one if your best selling points. That leads me to believe you are probably an employ who doesnt like reading the truth. I was aware of the cafe next to the pool. I would have loved to eat there three times a day but it was CLOSED for service the whole week. Im also well aware of when i traveled, july, and thats fine. Warm pools, relaxation, and the aquatic center is enough for any family with 2 kids. Long story short, dont piss on my review because YOU had a different experience. Maybe the resort should be a little more consistent if they want nothing but wonderful reviews.

LMAO, "un-remodeled unit". That extra chair was for the roach. Do you thing this place would be great for a 10 year anniversary? What should I get?

@@DARXLITE_Chronicles For the price and location it is great I think. We didn't see any thing like a roach (do they even have those in the dry desert?). Believe me, housekeeping was superb and everything was clean. If you stay in the hotel rooms ask for a remodeled unit. Some features could be run down. The hotel rooms are small, but comfy and the met our needs. Great beds. Best thing is we only paid about $130 a night in December. If you like art, hiking and walking to meals it is a perfect location. Only 20 to 30 minutes away from area sites. Less than a few miles to the Living Desert park, which is worth seeing and hiking. There are a bunch of condos for rent in the Palm Springs area (other than Shadow Mountain), but we found that Shadow Mountain is best for value and because we didn't have to drive to dinner. The El Pasao is really nice for walking. This place was built in the 1960s, but they have fixed up the rooms. You can pay $300 or $400 for a nicer place, but not a better location. We are staying in a one bed condo next week for Christmas.

Thanks for that. Just a couple more questions. When did you travel ? I am surprised that they gave you and your wife 2 double beds ! I would have asked for a queen. Perhaps it was too busy. Also did you enjoy the golf course view or would you have liked the opposite side looking in towards the middle if you had the choice ? Thanks

JJ Burns this trip was in May 2017. The golf course view was lackluster, the grass was mostly brown and no body was using the course, i would much rather have been looking at something else.

Wow that was a quick response ! OK. I would think May is low season so I guess it was not that busy, maybe that's why that had crappy food too. If I go then perhaps I should ask ( in building 1 ) to view the middle area and hope that myself or other folks are not staring at each other for a week. Although it looks like a fairly good distance over to buildings #2. Last thing, what is the top floor ? I can't tell from video's if there are 4 or 5 floors. Thanks again

CTROCK there is not a buffet here, there are however decent places to eat like hash house. And i believe the Gold nugget has a buffet which is about 5 walking minutes away

C B Yes I agree it could be a bit pricey, if you become a red card member then you will continuously be sent discounts in the mail and if you are able to take advantage of those discounts they are well worth it

Pa Pha unfortunately i did not use it in this room. In other rooms at this hotel that ive stayed in, the sofa bed is not very comfortable but my 3 year old son doesnt seem to care.

Demetria Davis Im not sure exactly. My rooms were accessible via the elevator next to the sports book. That particular hotel is constantly in renovation so i would not be surprised if there are much more upscale rooms. Over all i got what I paid for, my rooms were really inexpensive.
