Not plugged in. That was fairly close miked with my iPhone. It ended up being too difficult to play and sing with as the frets are so small and precision is needed to be in tune being fretless. I traded it back to the store for a fretted Kala. All the same features except for more traditional flat wound strings. Sounds really good. Fits into the mix nicely especially with acoustic guitars

well..I don't know because I'm a bass player just trying to help my band mate who is limited in his chord knowledge and so I figured out a way to play it a bit easier and thought I'd share with the world. My recollection of the proper rhythm, watching Dire Straits live, was the strumming is much faster. Almost like John Lennon in his early Beatle days driving a song with his fantastic rhythm playing. I don't think the strum has to be so fast but it has to be in time with a groove that fits the vocal

Sorry for the late reply. I switched to a fretted Ukulele Bass as the fretless was too hard to play and sing at the same time. I could never take my eyes off of the fret board as the notes require perfect finger placement. I traded in for the Kala because it also sounded good and wasn't too expensive. 345$ Canadian brand new. A great deal for what you get. I think those rubbery strings on the fretless sound great and I found a fretted version...except it's 750$. Guess everything is going up in price. I think I bought at the right time

Not sure which model. It's a low end model. I didn't see the need to pay more as this model sounds good enough. And I got to add it plays really well right out of the box and stays in tune from day to day. Hopefully it doesn't go to pieces just as the warranty expires like some many items out there today
