For the first time in 5 years, I was able to visit Tobichi (now in Kanda, Tokyo) and purchase my Hobonichi Techo items for 2024 in person! The Porter Stroll Jr. is a Japan only item, so I took the opportunity to purchase it. There's also one particular type of HON that can be with a regular cover, so I try it out in the video. Aren't they so satisfying? Even just using pen on the pages will puff it up a bit, that's a nice record building up day by day.
Nice choices! I got the Liberty Betsy and the pistachio Weeks but it was a tough decision. And I just got my order today! (My cat really enjoyed the plastic rustling content, btw!)
Hahaha that's so funny! 😸 My former cat would run a mile at the sight of a plastic bag. This year has so many choices that it is pretty tough to choose. Betsy is such a cute print, I got it as a Stappo a while back and it really brightens things up 💖

Aust Post and Minimaru to the rescue! In the end stock levels have been pretty good. Last year I couldn't get Little Gifts by Yumi Kitagishi at all and had to look on Mercari... Zipper covers are so cushy! Have a fun year in your techo too!

Your style is beautifully original. I love it so much! My Cousin this year is stylistically almost the polar opposite to yours as it’s covered in edge to edge writing in black ink 😄. I hope to art journal a bit more next year and your example reminded me to invoke more playfulness ☺️.
thank you! your cousin sounds great, do you have a special ink you like to use? it's fun just to be loose in the journal and just do whatever the story of that day tells you to do. e.g. paste a leaf, cut up some paper
@@astrocatdraws I used Platinum Carbon Black but it’s very dry for my pen so I decided to go wild and venture into grey (Pilot Iroshizuku Kiri-Same) this week. Thank you for your ideas! My son is always handing me leaves and flowers so it’ll be a nice way to mark his little gifts by pasting them in my journal.
@@helenaliu I'm a big fan of Platinum Carbon Black too for drawing, using an EF Preppy though sometimes finding it not fine enough for drawing. The blue grey of the Iroshizuku Kiri-Same looks interesting! Also your son sounds really sweet 🌼🍃 Thats a nice memento to put in your journal!

Hello! I had a look in Tokyo but decided not to get it as I have the older version without a strap (the one in black) as well as a few other Porter collaborations that have a shoulder strap. My book is also getting heavy this time of year, it's 824g right now 😅 How cute is the Jr. wallet!
