How to turn a 5.7L Hemi block into a 426 or 440 Stroker (427/439)
Просмотров 5 тыс.7 месяцев назад
Apologies for poor audio quality. Like I mention in the video I do not recommend this with boost, and you may need to SONIC check your block to verify wall thickness. You may also need custom pistons, depending on your bore. Here are some displacements you can achieve with the 4.25 cranks: 410CI = 3.917 x 4.25 (Stock 5.7L bore) 417CI = 3.95 x 4.25 427CI = 4.00 x 4.25 439CI = 4.055 x 4.25 Like I...

The Challenger is getting new rear end bushings put in, so while everything is dropped out, why not start it up?

      Very nice; I'm assuming it's a 4.07 X 4.25 443? Thumbs up 👍

    Video has incorrect info. The strokers your listing are for 6.4/6.2 hemi blocks. the motor trend engine was bored and stroked to a 397 not a 427.

      The 5.7 block with a 4.25 Crank will net anywhere from 410 CI on the stock bore, to 439 ci with a 4.055 Bore. The articles I linked by MotorTrend, Built by Tony Bishoff (BES), and BBE both use a 4.25 Crank with the 3.95 Bore, which nets 417 CI, Not 397. 427 would be using a 4.0 bore, I am building a 4.055 bore 4.25, 439 motor shortly. I only showed the Arrington and MMX page to show where the 4.25 crank is otherwise used; Not that that kit can be used in this application.

      @blazesrodshop8858 your saying you are boring out the 5.7 block over .080" ??? The 5.7 hemi has a 3.917" bore and it is only safe to bore it out .030". There is no way your taking the 5.7 and going to a 4.000 bore and trying to have a strong running engine if it even works. I don't know a single machine shop that would even do it. on an aftermarket block maybe but not stock. That's the reason you have to go to the 6.2/6.4 block with 4.090" bore to get the larger strokers. Even other major Hemi shops like MMX, HHP etc only go to 397 max on the 5.7 which included bore and stroke for safety

      @@blazesrodshop8858this while it may work will not be efficient. For the money your spending you can just get a 6.4/6.2 block and put high compression dropins or a stroker thst doesn't have to be custom and make more power, more efficiently and still be able to boost it etc.

      @@NightAndDayPerformance Yes Matt, there are many many 5.7 blocks at a 4.0 bore any Beyond, like I mention in the video my friend Monte Getz runs 5.7 block bored out to 4.055 on his pulling tractors with 30 psi of boost, and still has wall thickness over 100 thou. I have a 5.7 CB block going to 4.055 shortly and sure, I could use a 6.4/2 block, but I have 3 5.7s lying around my shop, which I wouldn't have to spend money on. Like I mention in the video the Early casting have the thickest walls, Rick Gerhing has taken CB blocks to 4.08 bores, yes 4.08. Like I also mention in the video this is ideally only for NA builds. Also the "major shops" HHP and Arringon Sell 414, and 410 5.7s both of which use a 4.0 Bore.

      @blazesrodshop8858 interested to see the long term results and overall efficiency of that. I know about the 411 stroker and had a friend that ran one boosted but also switched to a 6.4 based because it was not efficient and can make more power with the larger blocks

    a crank larger than 4.080 with 6.125 rods will hit the bottom edge of the cylinder. You'd have to grind out a relief into the block.

    • @blazesrodshop8858
      @blazesrodshop8858 15 дней назад

      The 4.08 crank may use a 2.1 Rod Journal, the 4.25 uses a 2.0 for more room IIRC

    Ehat did you do for the tail lights? Is that just some tape or vinyl or something? It looks like the Daytona 3d kit they used to sell, but now its like $500 or something just for the overlays. Just curious because i want to do that.

      I did these custom with vinyl wrap, and did roughly base it on gen 2 Charger, I did see the "daytona" overlay but the proportions were wrong
