The LORD is "trying" to tell us something? Dear one, He already has told us, repeatedly, throughout His Word; but we preferred the words of self-appointed false prophets - over God's written Word. We long to hear the "fresh words" from the so-called "living prophets" much more than God's written Word. We've ignored God's warnings not to add ANYTHING to what He has said. "I warn everyone who hears the Words of the prophecy of THIS BOOK: If anyone adds ANYTHING to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this BOOK." "And if anyone takes Words away from this Book of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the Tree of Life and in the Holy City, which are described in this Book." 📖♡ Revelation 22:18-19 This went from bad to worse when Mike Bickel prophecied that God told him He was going to change the understanding and expression of Christianity in one generation. When did the God of the Bible EVER authorize our changing His message, to make it more acceptable to the world? This has lead us into an apostasy beyond repair; resulting in a LOT of people presuming they're saved, when they aren't. We cannot change any of God's Word without serious eternal consequences for us, and those we deceived. Truly, as God Word says, there's nothing new under the sun. We don't learn from our mistakes. We just repeat the mistakes of others. "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again. There is nothing new under the sun." Ecc 1:9 "This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you." "They fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD." "They keep saying to those who despise Me, 'The LORD says: You will have peace.' And to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts, they say, 'No harm will come to you.'" "But which of them has stood in the council of the LORD to see or to hear His Word? Who has listened and heard His Word?" "See, the storm of the LORD will burst out in wrath, a whirlwind swirling down on the heads of the wicked. The anger of the LORD will not turn back until He fully accomplishes the purposes of His heart." "In days to come, you will understand it clearly. I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message. I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied." "But if they had stood in My Council, they would have proclaimed My Words to My people and would have turned them from their evil ways and from their evil deeds." "I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in My name. They say, 'I had a dream! I had a dream!'" "How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds?" "Let the prophet who has a dream recount the dream, but let the one who has My Word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?" declares the LORD." Jeremiah 23:16-28

The thing I appreciate most about this is that you’re emphasizing that we have to actually engage with God to work through what we ACTUALLY believe, not just inherit some doctrinal stance and say the work is done. This kind of work is such a big deal, and it’s hard, and it’s life-long, but it makes all the difference. And it’s what God actually calls us to do with Him.

All of us live by what we BELIEVE, and wrong beliefs about God are sinful and even destructive. God will allow us to see the fruits of our beliefs to show us our own sinful minds, and we should take this correction, not as doubt about God, but doubt about our own ways and ideas of good.
