    I do a rough split 30/30/30 in SCHD, SCHG, and SPLG. Still doing this even though I think technology (A.I. mainly) is getting overheated and is bound to deflate at some point.

    Is fspgx comparable to some of the other big growth funds like qqq and schg?

    • @SimpleFinanceEducation
      @SimpleFinanceEducation Месяц назад

      Historically, over the past 10 years, FSPGX has not performed as well as QQQ or SCHG. For example, if you had invested $10,000 into FSPGX 10 years ago, you would have approximately $40,000 today. However, if you had invested $10,000 into QQQ ten years ago, you would have approximately $50,000 today. If you had invested $10,000 ten years ago into SCHG, you would have approximate $44,000 today. As you can see from the numbers, QQQ has shown the best past performance, then SCHG, then FSPGX.

    Is there a catch with these zero funds or should we use the traditional fidelity index funds with small fees?

    • @SimpleFinanceEducation
      @SimpleFinanceEducation Месяц назад

      The zero index funds (like FNILX for example) are good, but don’t follow a traditional S&P 500 index (like FXAIX does). Fidelity makes their own “index” (with Large Cap stocks) that is similar to the S&P 500 index fund but not exactly the same. If you were to compare FNILX and FXAIX returns, over the past couple of years, you would see the difference. Essentially, the zero index funds are considered “loss leaders” which means that Fidelity loses money if you invest in them, but they created them so you would invest and buy their other products.

    Why isn't anyone talking about this?

    • @SimpleFinanceEducation
      @SimpleFinanceEducation Месяц назад

      I’m not sure. FXAIX (Large Blend) has shown that it is a reliable S&P 500 index fund. Although Large Growth index funds, such as FSPGX, tend to perform better than Large Blend funds (when the stock market is up) because the primary focus is the overall growth of the fund. During times when the stock market is down, Large Growth index funds will tend to be more down in comparison to a Large Blend index funds. Eventually though, Large Growth typically outperforms Large Blend in the long run.

    Does SPLG & VOO track the same S&P 500 companies & have the same 10yr return?

    • @SimpleFinanceEducation
      @SimpleFinanceEducation 2 месяца назад

      The actually holdings in both SPLG and VOO are the same, but it might be weighted differently. For example, the amount of Apple stock (APPL) in SPLG is approximately 7.11% of SPLG whereas the amount of Apple stock (APPL) in VOO is approximately 6.97%. Both of these ETFs are designed to mirror the S&P 500. Over the past 10 years, the return rate for SPLG and VOO is very similar (within 0.03%) difference between SPLG and VOO. It’s not exactly the same but very close.

      @@SimpleFinanceEducation Thanks! Is it a good time to buy SPLG in lumpsum right now, when the market is highest..say $100k? Is DCA or lumpsum better for 2 Fund Portfolio?

    • @SimpleFinanceEducation
      @SimpleFinanceEducation 2 месяца назад

      @@SG-xb7de That would be up to you whether to dollar cost average or lump sum. The stock market is constantly moving, going up and down, so it’s hard to say because no one knows what the stock market will do next.

    How could i start understanding the world of finances. I just started learning and i know nothing about it.

    • @SimpleFinanceEducation
      @SimpleFinanceEducation 3 месяца назад

      I would start by reading and researching investment options through books and articles. Fidelity has a section on their website called “News and Research” where you can read up on investing options. For managing finances, Ramit Sethi has a free chart called Conscious Spending Plan “CSP” that has helped people with budgeting.
