Kara’s Famous Cinnamon Rolls and Bread Recipe
Love this trick!🙌
Acetone has been getting a lot of attention lately for being an awesome furniture stripper but here’s my experience. I used it on a dark stained dresser and it did strip the varnish off but alot of times just moved it to other parts of the dresser because it dried so fast. I do like acetone but maybe not to strip large areas that have dark, thick stains. Next time I will use a stripper. What are your thoughts on acetone ? Do you love it or hate it?
Your timing COULD NOT BE MORE PERFECT for this video!!! Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So glad I could help!😁
This is not a Puligi without Coconut milk but its a different idea 🙂
Beautiful.
Thank you!
Your work actually added value to the piece. I love that you saved the inside of the drawers as well. Subbed!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it🥰
Very nice. Green is the new gray! Do you need a topcoat with that paint ?
Yes! Green is so popular right now, no, this is SW emerald urethane paint, the topcoat is included
@Karaslivingspace07 Thank you. I'll look for it.
looks really good! i do that kind of stuff for a living. KEEP IT DRY! lol i guess you know that now but we definitely dont wanna mess it up again. painting it is good too just one more thing the water has to penetrate. nice work 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback, yes, I sealed the top so it would stay dry, hopefully that’s enough!
❤❤
Every time I use this paint colour it sells so fast so if you wonder why all my dressers are the same colour it’s because they sell!😁. I sold this dresser for $580 with - 50% deposit to hold it for pickup. This is Sherwin Williams - Shade Grown.💚 Tell me where you’re from & what paint colour sells well in your area 😁⬇️
The set is so pretty! What a beautiful transformation!
Thank you so much!
You are a genius! Thank you.
Great instructions..looks delicious
Screw in ones will fail in time too...get SureGrips...
Never heard of that, will look it up, thanks!
Lovely
Turned out so pretty!😍
Thank you Rachel!🥰
Love this look, I just hate sanding 😂
Perfectly done. Gorgeous. Linda Beals.
NICE
Thank you!
USE A MASK. You don't want to breath those fumes.
Thank you!! I agree, I definitely need to make that a habit!
Do you preheat oven if your baking?
Yes, always preheat the oven if I’m baking 😊
Amazing! I appreciate all the hard work you put into your pieces!❤
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it 🥰
Love it!
Thank you!!
Hi Kara, My heart sank when I saw the paint scratch off 😞 Thank you for sharing, I think the negatives are just as important as the positives. The piece looks great, lovely choice of colour and fixtures. 👍🏻. I've just subscribed to your channel so look forward to seeing more of your creations. 🙂
@@mariashippam6546 thank you my friend, yes, that was the worst when I realised I had to sand & paint over everything again but you’re right the mistakes are how we get better! ❤️
Paint is too complicated these days. Back in the day, it was "Gimme some paint." "What color?" "Green" "Comin' up." Now there are 6 levels of sheen and chemistry all over the place. I'm going to wallpaper.
Yes!!! Paint is complicated! So many different brands and diffferent categories within the brands! lol wallpaper is definitely a great option!😁
@@Karaslivingspace07 To be serious for a second, I think all paints are too thick. I don't think the people that make paint actually paint. I add water all the time. I've never used Floetrol. I should try it, I guess. I find that a thinner paint goes on more smoothly and levels nicely. I'm speaking of brushing and using rollers. I'm not a giant fan of spraying. I use smaller rollers. A couple of inches to the six-inch ones. When the paint levels out, it looks like it had been sprayed on. You did a beautiful job and I see it was an uphill climb. Only a woman would jump thru all those hoops. Bravo!
@@alext8828 thank you so much for your feedback. I agree, thinning out paint really helps for it to go on smoothly and using g rollers can definitely give the same effect as a paint sprayer, it just might take a little longer.
Oh man I could feel your pain when that paint was scratching off so easily!😫 Way to hang in there. Love the green and hardware you chose!😍
That was THE WORST when the paint scratched off! Thanks Rachel, I’m so glad it turned out in the end😁
That’s beautiful!! Good job powering through and getting it done!!
Looks amazing Kara. Malo lava!
Thank you so much!🥰
Don’t do this. Cut it yourself those saws are rarely ever maintained and rarely cut square
Thanks for the tip! I’m hoping it was cut correctly, haven’t put it on my dresser yet
Ok, pricing your furniture to sell can be a bit scary but after about 3 years of selling on FBMP I’ve figured a few things out. Here are my tips below 👇🏽 1) Don’t pick up free or cheap furniture that hasn’t got any solid wood in it. People LOVE solid wood, it sells fast & lasts much longer than cheap store bought furniture these days. 2) Pick colours to paint that sell in your AREA, research what’s trending in your local shops and what sells fast on FBMP and use those. Remember, what might sell well in another State or country does not necessarily sell well where you live. 3) Don’t be afraid to list at a price that is worth the piece you’re selling. Remember, if your buyer were to buy solid wood in a store, they’d most likely pay $1000+. I bought this dresser for $50 & sold it for $700. I was happy with $700 and had multiple offers on this dresser within a couple days on FBMP.
They make caulk tools to make your lines a bit nicer. But if you are planning on painting, I'd recommend some wood filler or glue and fine sawdust you save from sanding if you are going to stain. The caulk will not match the texture, and won't hold up as well to the test of time
Thank you for the feedback. From my understanding, filling such a big gap with wood filler might make it crack over time and I have used glue and saw dust before but it was quite a big gap. Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it.

I use these sanding sponges all the time, they come in a variety pack of different grits. I use them to sand in between painting and top gusts to get the smoothest, buttery finish. I also wet sand with them if I accidentally spray too much of it and it drips, I wet the sponge and sand over that area - it’s is definitely a must for smooth finishes.
Well it does say GEL stain and apparently you can only have like 10% oil mixed into that whole can, but slay
I was asked how I do a paint wash with a gel stain. This is how I did it for my latest dresser. I love the added dimension a paint wash and gel stain give wood. I also know that most of the time a stained and painted wood combo sells for more so I love to do it when I feel the piece works well with the combo. Have you tried a paint wash/gel combo? What do you think of it? Let me know if you have any questions!! Dresser painted in Sherwin Williams Black Magic and stained in Varathane gel stain
This Krud Kutter definitely lived up to its name!
I have the exact same dresser. I’ve been wanting to doctor it up, but I don’t think I have your skills
You just need to follow some basic guidelines and you can do it. Scuff sand, prime, paint and seal with topcoat 😊
I love it!!
Thank you!!
3 REASONS FLIPPING FURNITURE MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU…⬇️ 1. You’re impatient & don’t enjoy being creative with your hands 2. The idea of getting dirty and really hot or cold (in summer or winter) while working in your garage sounds terrible! 3. Making potentially $350-$700 every week doesn’t excite you. If you agree with the above, you might want to unfollow me if but if you’re willing to learn patience, love using your hands and don’t mind a bit of dirt and sweat and extra income you’ve come to the right place. Make sure to follow me for more tips & how to make money flipping furniture!
Stunning! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!❤
I picked up this free dresser from the curb and because it was in such good condition I was able to refinish it in 3 days! What do you think of the AFTER?
I found that this recipe is one of the best so far on RUclips. I have another one, Maori one, that I like very very much.
Thank you so much, I’m glad you like it!
THREE TIPS TO SELL YOUR FURNITURE FASTER⬇️⬇️⬇️ 1) Flip your furniture in batches! When possible, refinish more than one piece of furniture at a time and use the same paint colour. Last week I sanded, primed and painted a dresser and two nightstands using the same paint colour do if I had overspray it wouldn’t matter because they are all the same colour. I listed them@on the same day and sold them within a few days of each other - saving me time and making more money. 2). Have more than one paint canister. I used to have one paint canister and it would take time to wash it out after priming so I could paint with it. Instead of buying a whole new paint sprayer, all you need is another paint canister to swap out on your paint sprayer. I use a Wagner sprayer and on Amazon the canisters cost about $30. This is so worth it for me, I now have a canister specifically for priming and I don’t need to wash it out after every project. I just keep it in my house with the A/C on so it doesn’t overheat and clump up and it’s actually lasted me a few months without washing g it out! I just refill it. This definitely saves time which makes more money! 3) stage your furniture to sell well. It’s so important to have good lighting, I stage mine in my garage with the garage door open. Also, add a video opening all the drawers or cupboards, you want your buyer to have all the confidence that your furniture not only looks beautiful but works! I hope this was helpful, it’s definitely helped increase my sales. What furniture flipping tips do you have to share?😁
Nobody is reading that holy yap
I read it.

❌NEVER do this… Judge a book by its cover❌ I bought this dresser for $20, not sure what to do with it and unsure if the weaved look would sell, turns out, after taking off some wood at the top and spraying one of my fave paints (SW Shade Grown, changing the knob and adding drawer liners it was my fastest selling dresser! It sold in less than a day! Glad I took a chance on this one! What do you think of this flip?
Nope! Preferred the natural wood
It’s pretty, but I wish the top was matching the legs
Green 💚 is the new Gray 🩶.
It really is, I love green!
This is goated going to try this out
Hope you love it as much as my family do!😁
I love a sage green moment! And the gold knobs are perfect.
Thank you, I love a good green too!
