Dad and son on Hyosungs. It was the last session for the day so we decided to have a bit of a family race. Chris was on the carby model and at the start he was getting out of the corners a lot faster than me. I was used to the bike so I was braking later. Coming out of the bus stop Chris's last right turn in was later than mine so my exit was tighter and slower. At the hairpin Chris took a wider line and he again was faster. I eventually passed him under brakes at the end of the back straight so Chris could follow my braking points for this bike and improve his lap times. It was a dry day and I was riding the 2012 Hyosung 650 with EFI. The third session for the day and I'm getting a bit smoother and corner speed has increased. I'm purposely not braking later or using full acceleration as the goal today was to get higher corner speed therefore the lap times did not improve. In this session I use full acceleration and brake closer to the 150 mark on the back straight. By the fourth lap I am braking on the mark during a pass under brakes. I found this a better way to push the brake point as the braking point is directly related to the corner speed. This vid was taken to assess how much I moved on the seat when cornering. It felt like I was literally hanging off the bike, but when viewed from the rear I could see it wasn't that much movement. I thought I would describe why my riding has improved. As a long term road rider I was making a big mistake as a new track rider and running off consistently each time I tried to improve my lap times. I was trying to reach corner speed before turning in. I was trying to brake too violently, missing my turn in point and running on. The solution was to turn into the apex no matter what the speed....

I've been making my own tire changing equipment for my motorcycles for many years; experiment after experiment. By the looks of it, the problem with your first breaker bar is that the plate that contacts the tire is not wide enough. When it's so narrow, not enough of the bead dislodges from the rim and then just springs back. It also needs a longer rear down below the top of the rim. That same springing back action happens with this too. I love seeing how other people tackle changing their own tires. Good on ya.
