I love how the theme changes meaning depending on whether you're winning or losing. If you're winning, the "The power he possesses is incredible, he doesn't stand a chance!" Refers to sonic being the overpowering figure against Eggman. Whereas the opposite, when you can't get a hit in and lost your rings pits Eggman as this formidable foe that Sonic finally sees as intimidating and imposing.
