You should watch this again. You apparently missed things or did not understand it. His demons are not that has killed people in the past. His demon is that he is afraid. Even though his is the fastest gun alive, he let his own father die because he was afraid. In this movie he overcomes that fear and saves his town. This is a great men's move. It deals with difficult subjects.

The remake is typical late-Tony Scott short-zoom-ins and dolly-left-and-right nonsense with additional editing effects while the original is pure 70s grit, action and excellence. The remake is garbage by comparison in my opinion.

What is with these ppl at Criterion!? Can't tell which disc is the Paper Moon Bluray disc or which disc is the 4K disc. Completely identical. Seems I played the 1080p disc for guests & I'm pissed! So pissed I broke the weak clear case tab that holds the discs, trying to fumble in between which disc goes where. Now it's a golf course puzzle to pull out the broken tab tumbeling around inside the sealed case. I'd say "Shove your BS Bluray discs where the sun don't shine", but turns out the Bluray doesn't have nearly the detail but manages to look better without the 4K Dolby Vision that locks out HDR. There is no black, no white on the 4K, just gray, giving the film an unbelievably washed-out look that spoils the presentation. It's a B&W movie, not a "Gray movie"! Get ready for more bad reviews of Criterion's already questionable 4K transfer history. "Oh, but we want it to have that gloomy depression-era look". STFU & turn the contrast back on! Obviously there's a buncha artsy types working at Criterion that have a warped vision of 4K's potential, so they better stay away from any future 4K Bad News Bears release with dumbed down director or Criterion-imposed Warp-O-Vision will screw that one up too insisting "it should look like it was recorded with a handheld VHS because they didn't have 4K back in those days". I don't care who thinks what, Mind Hunters is the best and most suspenseful "who did it" movie ever made. It's exciting and unpredictable from the first second to the last, you don't quite know who the villain is until the end of the film. The film has a lot of original and good ideas that were never used in any other film before, and even if they were, you certainly didn't have such a good execution as in this film (scene with dominoes, scene with electrified water, poisoned cigarettes, final showdown of the villain and a hero under water...)

I remember seeing a billboard on sunset where it had the cover shot of badass with a lot of characters representing cussing on it. The first time I saw it I could identify with just about everything in the movie that matched my Navy days😊

I loved this movie. I want to see the other chapters in the Horizon saga. And I'm glad you could appreciate Horizon for its cinematic scope. And that's why I'm glad Costner won Best Picture and Best Director for Dances With Wolves. Because that was an INCREDIBLE directorial debut. Not even Braveheart was Mel Gibsons first movie.

I’m a 4k blu ray collector but was not impressed with the movie at alll, super boring too many things going on that never came together for such a long movie, did I mention it was a super boring movie but I will probably purchase it just for the look as it looked great on my OLED but again will wait for the Christmas sell of $12 to $10 as the rewatch experience is not as good as like some of the classics western for me it’s just not worth more than that.

I agree about not wanting to leave the theater. It's been a LONG time where I wasn't even the slightest bit bored by a 3 hour movie, where it felt like maybe an hour 30 went by. Even Oppenheimer had about 10 minutes I could have done without. I can't wait to dig into this one again.

When Joan COLLINS' character finally gets naked, it's a Body-Double! Joan Collins was famous for doing nude scenes & in this movie she ops for a Body-Double (WTF?!)
