Imagine using that practical piece of equipment in real fire rescue scenarios

Why not just grab the shoulder straps or DRD. DRD sucks as it leaves most of the body on the ground, increasing surface tension. Shoulder straps removes 50 percent of friction. In the time it took to hook this stupid strap up, they would already be out. Add to that, we need to stop assuming and normalizing 2 man entry crews. There’s a reason the IAFF and NFPA say a minimum crew is 4. Training and demonstrating rescue with 1 person in case your partner goes down is BS. Timely rescue is a two person job. Case study after case study proves this to be true. Volunteers, get the third person for your crew before going in. Paid guys, you’re better off closing companies to staff one company fully rather than two without proper staffing. All the fancy gimmicks out there don’t replace right staffing and solid tactics.

For the fire fighters tbo, they make this plastic board that you can put on their back with a cut out for the tank. Then they drag easy. Not sure about stairs though. I have one in my classroom for training. But no matter what device, that is hard work. I thank all of you who do this training. The next life you save might be one of us!
