Piecing with Diamonds
Просмотров 1403 месяца назад
Do you have trouble making 9 patch or 4 patch diamonds?? Then, you need to watch this. I made this video to accompany the Fantastic Fairways pattern, but it will work for many diamond patterns. The trick is the 3/8” tails. Ensuing you have these tails is key to proper placement. If you are using templates, these tails are often removed so you can align fabric edges instead. In the video, I show...
Cutting diamonds!!
Просмотров 713 месяца назад
This is a quick tutorial on cutting diamonds from a jelly roll. Starch your strip to prevent warping and make accurate cuts. A jelly roll is 2 1/2” wide. Make your first cut at 45 degrees. This will give you a side the measures 3 1/2”. Rotate your ruler to measure 3 1/2” lengthwise. Pivot your ruler again to give you a 45 degree angle. Make your second cut. If you look closely at the ruler. The...
Demystifying Partial Seams
Просмотров 663 месяца назад
Partial seams sound scary. But they really are pretty easy once you know the trick! These are typically used to sew rectangular blocks around a center square. You start your first seam in about an inch from where you normally would. Add the rest of your pieces and then finish that first seam. Watch to get a better picture!
Oh no! My Thread Broke
Просмотров 536 месяцев назад
Did your thread bread or you ran out of bobbin on a specialty stitch? Are you worried that you will have to rip it all out? Not to worry! There is a solution. Reset the needle to the beginning of the stitch. Move the fabric to the matching location in your stitch line. You will stitch over a little of the previous stitch.

Thank you sooo much!!!
You're welcome! I hope you enjoy it!
I bought this kit and pattern. The pattern isn't very clear so I watched this video. Sadly, this didn't help at all. Half of the video is barely on screen so it's hard to see what your doing and you need to perhaps talk and tell everyone what you're doing. And you never show how to trim the blocks. I'm stuck with a kit that isn't working for me.
Michelle - I am very sorry this video did not help you. Let me see what I can do to make it clearer for you.
