I think it could be used with a 3rd grader along with the 6th grader personally. Each lesson reading took probably 20 minutes. Then the workbook assignment. I would look at samples of the workbook and see if you think your 3rd grader could handle it.

We used it for a short time, its pretty intense. But for 8th and up I think it would be good. I tried to use it with a child who was younger and its definitely for 8th and up.

We are this year only for geography. So I went through the levels and just grabbed the geography units for each continent to use for social studies. Honestly, I really don't love it. Its boring and worksheet heavy. I'd never use the entire curriculum. For a unit study here and then its fine. I definitely don't like the language arts portion or the science. For a language arts unit study I'd recommend brave writer. The science kits are terrible, the products it comes with are junk and the experiments hardly work. Its just a lot of money for a mediocre curriculum at best.

No it doesn't. We're using the boys body book for that. Theres also a girls body book if you have girls and then for sex education we are using the maturation unit from TGTB.

They do. We use it as a talking point about our beliefs or I skip lessons. I feel kids should be taught evolution so that they know about it. We aren't using this anymore though, we are now using the good and the beautiful and next year we will be using abeka science.

I ordered it for my middle schooler. This curriculum has 3 middle school options you can use any year of middle school. I purchased it from Christian book.

Actually, no my dismay was because every other curriculum I looked at for 2nd grade math had multiplication being introduced, except for this one.

Notgrass is great. They do offer history programs for higher grades too, this one is geared towards grades 1-4 but you could easily use it with a 5th grader too. Or try their America the Beautiful for your 5th grader. They just updated it and its fantastic

I didn't use MBTP for math, we had another math curriculum. It took about 2-4 weeks per unit. I think MBTP could work well for families with 2 age groups. It can be fairly teacher intensive in the younger years but as kids get older it becomes more independent.

@@diaryofahomeschoolmama9191 Thank you. As for work during the day, how much time would it take? I have two 8 yr old, a 5 y old, and a 5 month old (who doesnt nap). I dont want to set myself up for failure. I wanted to see how much time it would take with each age group to see if its doable. I really love what I have seen from you and other mamas. Im just wondering if this could be for us, or maybe wait till next year when my little one is older. Thank you for any and all your suggestions and opinions

@@vanessatapuala4003 its hard for me to say honestly, I have only used a few of the units from the 7-9 package. Daily it took us about 2 ish hours, but we never did every single thing. Everyday is different with MBTP, some days have cooking or bigger projects (which you don't have to do if you don't want to, everything is optional).

Out of those 2 I would probably go with the good and the beautiful. It's just more fun. Masterbooks is very quick and the experiments are pretty basic.

I meant to add this the other day but forgot, ultimately you have to do what's best for your family. Both are good curriculums, neither is very time consuming. ;) hope you figure out what works!

You can also download a free unit from. The good and the beautiful and check that out. Marine biology is free and I think water and our world is only $4 right now.

I think 5 would be okay, my youngest was i want to say 6 or 7 and he mainly just drew pictures in a notebook and I would help him write down the vocabulary word with the definition when those came up. Its very adaptable for young kids!

Honestly, the info was great and everything but it was hard to use without a teacher guide and answer key. So we switched to abeka which honestly was a lot like this, but I had an answer key and teacher guide.

When I searched for the book a link to quizlet came up that said it had the answers. I clicked on it and it gives answers but i don’t know if they are accurate.
