Great video! One minor correction if you don't mind is that the Hess Hall courtyard really is a relatively new development. Hess opened in 1961, and for the next 50 years what's now the courtyard was a big lined parking lot, believe it or not. With the grass and trees and sidewalk that you see now, you may be asking yourself how in the world that could have been a parking lot... but it's really bigger than it looks now with regard to the number of cars that could be parked in there like sardines. It's so much nicer now. By the way, air conditioning wasn't introduced into Hess until about 2005... box fans lined the windows. And... until about 1995 the community showers in Hess Hall didn't have individual stalls (!)... That's right! You literally showered naked next to people who lived on your floor. Those were the days, my friend.

As someone about to go to UTK on scholarships this is very helpful

after being away from utk campus many yrs, coming back seeing the campus degraded...the external appearance of the eliptical building facing the library on 16th street and the aquatic building look dirty...they can be easily cleaned by steamed cleaning and wondering why the school has not done so...if i were a high school graduate, i would not select utk

not a fan of the dorm in general not how y'all decorated but the campes tho makes it worth it if im able to go here

i’ve done some research about dorms at UTK and i’ve seen dorms that have private bathrooms (brown and the quad private- i dont remember that hall that was) and I was wondering if all the halls were open to freshman or if those private suite types were reserved for upperclassmen? or are freshman mainly placed in the more traditional communal halls?

Another nice thing about UTK is that you have the amenities of the city right at hand, but you can drive about a half hour away and be in the country. At least you could when I was there (1982-84).
