Birding Adventure at Tangari Regional Park
Im 17 and this is my second car after a mk1 ford focus. Im gonna mod mine exactly like you have there except black and bigger tires. Lovely build you have 😊
Thanks Mate , It went really well on my trip up to Darwin, never missed a beat and was really comfortable to sleep in, and went everywhere that I wanted to go , good luck with your build .
Cracker footage as always mate. Love the personal touch of your Original music.
Thanks Rick, I'm enjoying making these , and learning more about the video aspect :)
Hey Bernie. First time watcher here and just had to subscribe and comment on how much I like the mix of video and stills. Great to see the cars we love on the move, but then frozen in time with that beautiful depth of field. I'll have to come up and have a chat on one of these events.
Hi, thanks for commenting, I've been streamlining the technique for the last 3 weeks and I'm now where I want to be with it , future edits will probably have the cars slowing down (matrix style) then the still pop up .................I love to photograph the cars on the move at meets with the drivers doing their thing, yes feel free to come up for a chat , look forward to meeting you :).
That slo mo idea sounds like a great addition.
Hey Bernie, really like how you took still footage as well as video, very effective! cheers
Thanks @Scottyr05 , I've been fine tuning the idea for a couple of weeks, making changes as I go.........the camera looks like it belongs in a Star Wars movie at the moment ....nice to know that I'm heading in the right direction :)
Very nice, how often is this event on ?
Hi, it's held on the 4th Saturday of each Month from 6pm til 8 pm (self regulated)
Great job!! We already know you can take awesome car pics but the photos of people were fantastic! & the doggos too of course. (Although I think the 2 weineers were way to low, how were they allowed in? 😉)
They somehow managed to traverse the speed humps so they got the OK .........so I heard :)
You got a 307 power glide, not many made.
I've had it a long while , back then there were plenty of them around , at one stage I had2 GTS 307 glides lol......one of the first things I did though was replace the powerglide with a turbo 400 .
I love the dog pics !
there were some characters running around on leads :)
What a great show. Thanks Bernie.
Thanks Tim ....yes , an awesome meet .....Packed !!! :)
Nice one Bernie..
Thanks Tim........finally got the video quality to where I want it :)
Great pics BERNIE
Thankyou @buickadelaide1283 ..as usual she looked awesome going past :)
@ cheers ..and merry XMAS N HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR 2025
Great pics bernie
HK is the coolest Monaro.
I have to agree with that :)....I've owned it since 1978!!
@ I’ve got an XRGT I’ve owned since 93, but had a really ratty/rusty HK 327 Monaro in the mid 80s I sold for $600. I really wished I had kept it and restored it over the years. They would have been a perfect pair in the shed. The HK looks smoother and more 60s than the HG and HT. Beautiful.
nice, love the early GTs ..............yeah for me it's the quirkyness of the HK that sets it apart....love the floor tach and the fake lights across the boot..................back in the day the HK was the Cinderella of the KTGs ...not so these days ....enjoy that XR :)
Awesome video 👌🏽 thankyou Blue 63 impala looks 👍
Thanks Nick ......she looked great going by :)
Love the photos of moving cars
Glad you like them Greg , thanks for commenting :)

Thankyee :)
Shit stirrer
Kept me entertained :)
Ragsy..Looksy
you bet :)
Loved the pics
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed them.
Ragsys corner is back 🎉
It was nice to get out there and make some noise too :)
Great Video Bernie. Like the classics and customs. Especially Motorbikes. Ta............ Tim
Hi Tim, thankyou, thought I would try something a little different :)
12 years ago, about an hour north of Marla bore, saw a VS commodore in the scrub that looked like it had been rolled 10 times at very high speed. Never saw anything that damaged, must have been very dangerous to be in that crash.
yes, and with help a long long way away, probably no phone coverage either,
Great video! Although to me, 'Worlds end' conjures up images of somewhere far more barren and desolate. Love the astro photography!
Thankyou :) .... I have to agree , it was my first visit and I thought it was an awesome place .......From there onwards though it does get a bit desolate ....maybe that is the reason for the name , it was a great place to photograph the stars ....I'm definitely returning :)
Bernard,, that creek looks like it has been mined back in the day, and has had plenty of water as well. Attractive area. The whole Burra region is interesting. I have always looked for the mining history which is pretty easy to find. That and the miner cottages . Lee
Thanks for commenting Lee , yes now that you've mentioned it , I'll bet it's a well worn path all around there , yes the whole region is interesting, I'm planning on going back .........so much to explore around there. :)
Hi Bernie. Thanks for the video. Burra Gorge is still a lovely place to see.
Hi Tim...yes , awesome place , my first time there .......I shall return :)
Great video. I have been there and taken photographs but was not aware there were waterholes there. I didn't see many birds but probably wasn't trying hard enough. Some of the best Bee Eater shots I have seen . Thanks.
Thankyou, those waterholes looked to me like they might be good spots to see Kingfishers , I really enjoyed my visit and will be returning to explore a bit more .
@ yes a good spot. Those cliffs ideal for bee eaters burrows.
Hi Bernie. An oasis discovered. And unusual birdlife too. The rainbow bee-eater is a treasure. Thanks again......Tim
Hi Tim thanks .......loved this one...I'll be returning soon.
Hi Bernie. Easy to get lost in malley scrub. Some unusual parrots around there. Good spotting. Thank you.....Tim
Hi Tim, yes it was one of those areas where no matter where you stopped it was dense woodland with no landmarks .....lost territory ......yeah those Purple Crowned Lorikeets were interesting. :)
Thanks Bernie. Tennant Creek Telegraph. Good to remember how it used to be. Bloody big mud wasps at The Pebbles.
you're welcome Tim, thanks for watching....yes I was lucky the Mud Wasps didn't make a charge :)
Didn’t even wait for it to warm up just into gear and gone that engine won’t last long 🤣
Gee you know a lot ......that engine has been in the car since 1982 lololol
@@Ragsytheriffer must be the first run since 82 🤣
much loved and driven , owned since 78 ....did you ever think that I might have warmed the engine while I was getting the video camera ready :)
@@Ragsytheriffer hope so !
We love your bird pictures, I think you could take a picture of a bird on the moon with that camera that you have Bernie.
Glad you like them, there is no such thing as a lens that is too big lol
Hi Bernie. Beautiful places. The Springs look awesome. Lot's of unique birdlife again thank you. The blue winged Kookaburra was cool. Didn't know we had Archer fish in Oshtralia..........Tim
Hi Tim, yes Mataranka is an incredible place , I'm a bit of a fan of those Blue Winged Kookas........so different from ours (laughing kookas) .......there were lots of those Archer fish too .
Hi Bernie. Thank you for another great video. I haven't swam in a waterhole for years. Beautiful, idyllic Country.
Hi Tim , great swims in all of them but the Hot Springs were special.........and in town too which gave a great vibe ...yes I agree ....great country
Great job on the beautiful shots of the birds. Thanks Bernie.
Thankyou @johnmathisen1167, it was an awesome day , can't wait to get back there :)
Hi Bernie. Sorry I missed this one. There are some very tall folk about there in Aileron. Lovely drone shots of the ancient landscape. Thank you..... Tim
Hi Tim , on the way up I came through there at around sunset and I wasn't expecting giants, it was a nice surprise long the road.
Hi Bernie. Nice video, Thank you for the privilege. Love the Kingfishers. The storks are often overlooked by observers and they were nice to see. Is there crocodiles in the Creek? Thanks Bernie.
Hi Tim, thankyou, that was a great days birding, I was able to set a chair up along the creek bank and capture a lot of the action from the chair, I've never been able to do that before, I suspect there would have been Crocs in the creek, it just had that look about it , I kept back from the bank for a bit of protection, the locals had no problems wading in with cast nets though.
hello
HiYa :)
Hello Bernie, thank you for the video. Beautiful birdlife, and so much diversity. Your photos are really amazing.
Hi Tim , thankyou, yes that was a fantastic area......always special to bump into those Azure Kingfishers :)
Pythons maybe not😂
bloody piece of wood after all that excitement :)
@@Ragsytheriffer bahaha
I hope to get up to Darwin one day.
definitely worth visiting......great place in so many different ways .
Hi Bernie. Lots of new(to me) birds in this video. Great shots. Snake was a giggle.
Thanks Tim....yes it was a great local park, I visited it a few times , once I saw people staring at the snake and I could see that they were trying to work out if it was real ......I had to let them know :)
The colourings of the Brahminy Kite were like a painting. Thank you Bernie. Great pictures.
yes they are the most beautiful raptor , it's a shame we don't get them here :)
Gotta watch those bloody Geckos, the way you jumped I thought it must have been a scorpion. Guess you still had snakes on your mind. 😂
bloody Charles!!!!! .........then when I opened the box there was an oversized plastic cockroach lolol double whammy :)
Bernie did you let rip as you were getting in?
lolol......It was the vinyl creaking.........that's my story and I'm sticking to it :)
Thanks Bern, just been playing catch up, hadn't seen last week's episode. Feels like time to hit the road. 😁👍
Always my pleasure , I'm up against the Logies tonight lol ....always glad to help the travelling itch ;)
Hi Bernie. Museums like this are much underestimated in their value. Thanks for the view. I'm sure the War Peacock had been deactivated. You'd have to check though.
Thanks Tim , yeah I forgot to speak much in this video but you get the idea, it's a great place and it really helps people understand what went on back then , you never know with those War Peacocks :)
@@Ragsytheriffer Too right Bernie everyone thinks they are beautiful birds and sound lovely and all that, But, no-one ever really does checks on them. Good spotting mate.
Good to see you made it in the prado
Thanks @mnj640 ...........awesome feeling getting there and back without missing a beat :)
Re the bats, driving through Malaysia many of the power lines were strung vertically, not horizontally, we had kilometres of fried bats.
Thanks Bernie. The scenery does change a lot going north by what you showed. Love the bats, they were looking like they were heated.
Thanks for watching Tim ....yes that change in the vegetation is wild to watch as you go along.......what a beautiful country :)
Nice video, but several mistakes obvious to a Far North Queenslander. First example, It is the Barron River, not Barwon and it is not fed by the crater lakes. Some quite good bird photography.
Hi @GrantPhillipsmastamak .......thankyou, yes I realized after I uploaded the video that I had messed up the pronunciation of the Barron River but was too lazy to go back and fix it with a title .....nice pick up, I'm surprised about the crater lakes because I thought that I read that they were the source , oh well , thanks for calling me out for accuracy sake .......lovely part of the world , can't wait to get back there.
Now in my 44th year on the job and I have never worked on telegraph, probably almost obsolete when i started, nor have I sharpened my beak on a spindle (the bolt sticking out of the arm that the insulator screws on). Anthony
@anthony851 lolol, thanks for your reply mate.......sometimes I wonder if my humour is wasted , hope it made you smile :)
