I just realised that my Lacros is gone, they ending support for Lacros (experimental version of Chrome browser for ChromeOS). That is so sad, I really like Lacros.

The speakers, keyboard, screen (I have the 4K variant ) and the ChromeOS updates on my Pixel Book Go are keeping me from having to upgrade to a newer Chromebook, AFTER FIVE YEARS!

I have a chromebook which expired a couple of years ago. I kept hearing that I would be able to use lacros so that I could continue to get updates. I was able to get lacros on the computer, and it did get updates for a few months and then stopped. So I kept hoping that one of these days I would be able to get the full lacros on this laptop that would get regular updates. Now it sounds like the lacros program is dead. Say it aint so!

is there something that i missed?, my browser still say it's out of date & unable to install extensions because browser out of date, i had the idea that this would resolved that !

When it comes to retail presence, if a company doesn't pay to put something out - it can't be put out. So a store can't just opt to put things out on display. Unfortunately, Chromebooks still have a stigma to them as low-end units and hopefully the Chromebook Plus line can show people that you can get some outstanding value for the dollar on the low-end, but also get higher-end things as well to do more pro-grade tasks.

I still think Chromebooks are worth it...he is just saying that simply because of the new chips ...and every laptop that got that new chip cost 3 times as more as a Chromebook. Their a.i features not useful like Google chrome OS and to me it seem like everyone added so they could just raise the price say they had A.I. did you get one ?

Yea but the snapdragon X Elite is ridiculously expensive... and most of the apps their complaining dont work and you still have to spend over $2000 to get a new X Elite Snapdragon laptop.. who the hell gonna spend $3000 on a new laptop and the lower end is still almost $2000

I have the 7A and honestly, even I am waiting for the 10 series of phones. Which one I buy will depend on what I can afford at that point in time, but I feel like it would be the right time and the right phone for me to upgrade. And this TSMC news has made me intrigued about what might be in store.

I've been seeing a lot of sketchy behavior out of Microsoft, Apple, and Google, all three for years, and especially since they dropped the Air Tags and their CSAM scanning, though before I mostly found Apple to be too restrictive and behind the curve to be useful. ...and of course, we all know about Google's spyware reputation, as well as Microsoft's. That said, I'm transitioning to a no-account Android for my phone, and while I would like to flash something like Cyanogenmod, doing so is slightly more involved and risky than I'm wanting to get into. Additionally, I tried using Google Docks, but was having so many connection issues that it just become a hassle to use. I'm getting to where I use WPS Office on mobile and LibreOffice on Desktop since my desktop has been Linux for years now. While I've been bouncing between Medibang, Krita, iBis Paint, an GIMP for my art, which is something that I've been trying to learn unsuccessfully, I'm starting to settle on Krita for both mobile and Desktop. Also, Appflowy may be worth checking out for general brainstorming.

Thanks for the vid, and congrats on moving off Windows. Recall was the last straw. Been on Windows since DOS 5.0. Built several Windows gaming PCs. Ran a graphics/web design company, all running Windows... and now I'm officially done. Last week I erased my last Windows partition, and have moved to Linux Mint full-time. I have been completely floored how well it works. I can do graphics, video editing, web design. Literally all my Steam games run just as good, and some better than on Windows. I hope more people make the jump, and have the same luck I did...

I don't do video editing, I'm in the Music Production industry, I also left Windows about a week ago and I don't have any regrets whatsoever.

Nice rundown. I started life with DOS, and in IT Windows rules still; however, also used Macs from the mid 90s up until about 3 years ago as my daily driver. Bought one of our sons a Chromebook for college but he wanted a Macbook so I took his HP Chromebook and absolutely love it. So simple, not distracting. And it is *fast*. Only issue are some apps that are not native, but instead use the phone version of the app - like WhatsApp, some weather apps, etc.

I have so many freakin duplicates of duplicates, I've started using my phone to file any important stuff, and the laptop for solitaire. adobe is absolute bullshit. Open Process Explorer and see how many exe files have to run (over 50?) for VIEWING ONE PICTURE. Example: why would I need Adobe Bridge (a huge file manager) just to look at one tiny icon file we use multiple times on phones in one session without a problem? Audio files shouldn't need a VISUAL file manager, either. Back to pen and paper for me.

Wow! I had stopped caring about the Pixel phone because it couldn't do this! Is it just Alt-mode HDMI, or is Alt-mode DisplayPort supported? Does it support 4K? Will the Pixel Tablet also do this?
